14. Chapter Fourteen

A/N: You, Taejin readers, are going through it. Too bad y'all didn't choose that blind date plot; at least you'd have a little humor to help you get through all these ongoing ones.

"What happened?!" Taehyung's voice roared as he grasped Jimin's arms, pressing him against the wall.

Jimin, already in tears, sobbed even harder, feeling defenseless against the enraged Alpha berating him. "I-I don't know... He was okay one moment, and then he just collapsed," He stammered, his voice trembling as he spoke to Taehyung.

Namjoon placed a calming hand on Taehyung's shoulder, pleading, "Taehyung, please calm down." Unexpectedly, Taehyung spun around, gripping Namjoon's arm and swiftly flipping him onto his back. "Don't tell me to calm down! Would you be calm if it were Hoseok?" Taehyung's voice trembled with anger as he seized Namjoon by the shirt, lifting him up and forcefully pinning him against the wall, similar to how he had earlier cornered Jimin.

As Taehyung held Namjoon, their intense stares locked. With a menacing undertone, he uttered, "I know you think I'm crazy now, but trust me, you haven't seen crazy. So stop before I make Hoseok a single parent."

"I get it, you're really angry, and it's totally justified. But right now, as an Alpha, you should be at your Omega's side. I will get to the bottom of what happened today. That's why you have me here. Let me do my job," Namjoon said, looking Taehyung squarely in the eyes, his tone unwavering.

Releasing his grip on Namjoon, Taehyung stepped back; his eyes remained filled with anger as he directed a piercing glare toward Jimin. A sudden and forceful blow, which he could have easily dodged, struck his face, causing him to stagger backward.

Jimin, who witnessed the altercation, widened his eyes and let out a shocked gasp. "Don't you ever threaten me with some shit like that again!" Namjoon exclaimed angrily after landing the punch on Taehyung's face.

Taehyung wiped the blood from the corner of his lips with a smirk before turning to lock eyes with Namjoon. With a quizzical expression and a raised eyebrow, he retorted, "That was a cheap shot. Care to take another swing?"

Meanwhile, Jimin, still in the room, slowly edged closer to the door, eager to put some distance between himself and them.

"Taehyung, you are out of control right now, and that's not...please go to Seokjin; I am sure he is awake and needs you."

"No, finish your sentence," Taehyung declared, his eyes flashing with intensity. "I am out of control right now, and that's not how a king is supposed to be, is that it?" he added, stepping closer to Namjoon. "If you or anyone else thinks I am not fit to be the king, come and take the crown. I dare you! You also have the choice to leave. No one is being held here against their will."

Inching closer to the door, Jimin asked, "Does that mean I can leave?" However, his question seemed unheard, as neither Alphas even glanced in his direction. This made him ponder the absence of his own Alpha during this unsettling situation.

"I didn't intend to say that. You are our king for a reason. Nobody in this kingdom desires to take the crown from you, and you're well aware of that. However, if you continue to display such arrogance, you will surely lose it. I'm done here. I have a job to do if you'll allow it." Namjoon pushed past Taehyung and walked out of the room without hesitation.

Taehyung let out a chuckle, but as he turned around and laid eyes on Jimin, his smile quickly vanished. "Why are you still here?" he asked, sounding both surprised and puzzled.

"Um, I... I am leaving," Jimin stammered, his heart pounding as he rushed out of the room. He didn't know where he was headed, but he was relieved to put as much distance between himself and that room as possible. Jungkook's earlier warning about Taehyung suddenly made sense. The man was intimidating, far beyond anyone he had encountered, and he had encountered many unsettling things since becoming involved with Jungkook.

As Jin's eyes slowly fluttered open, he could sense the commanding presence of his Alpha even before he fully opened his eyes.

Taehyung shifted his chair closer to Jin's bed in the private medical room. "How are you feeling?" he inquired softly, restraining the multitude of other questions that swirled in his mind.

"I feel weak," Jin murmured, trying to make sense of his surroundings. His eyes darted around the unfamiliar room, noting the similarities to the clinic of his former kingdom. "But I think I'll be okay. Where am I?"

In the quiet confines of the room, Taehyung's voice resonated with a mix of concern and a hint of underlying anger. "You are in our medical clinic, and you will be okay. However, if this keeps happening, the doctor is concerned that it will be a risk to your pregnancy," he said, his efforts to maintain calm evident despite the underlying tension in his tone.

As Taehyung witnessed the frightened expression on Jin's face, he let out a sigh and gently grasped Jin's hand. "Seokjin, what happened? Why did you go into shock?"

"I-"

"Please, don't lie to me. I'm losing patience, Seokjin," Taehyung warned. He was already battling his anger and the urge to take action, especially since he knew someone was responsible for Jin's frequent breakdowns and shocks.

Jin hesitated, "I don't want to lie to you, but this isn't easy for me to talk about..." Before he could finish, his Alpha's sudden action startled him. Taehyung forcefully pulled Jin forward, causing him to sit upright. With a tight grip on his Omega's hand, Taehyung demanded, "Seokjin, I am no longer asking; I am telling you, tell me what happened!"

Jin let out a whimper as he felt the intense pressure of Taehyung's hand pressing against his already injured hand. "You are hurting me," he managed to mutter through the pain.

Taehyung's grip tightened as he maintained eye contact with Jin, his voice firm as he stated, "The longer it takes for you to tell me what I want to know, the more pain you will have to endure."

Feeling the intense strain on his wrist, Jin desperately pleaded, "Please stop! I will tell you everything, I promise." His voice trembled with pain as he pleaded.

"I am waiting," Taehyung said, refusing to release his grip on Jin's wrist. He was determined to uncover the truth and had abandoned his patience.

Jin's voice, trembling with each word, began to recount a harrowing experience. "Before I came to this kingdom, I used to take walks along a familiar path often frequented by the royal families. There's a beautiful lake that I love to visit. One day, as I was passing by the lake, I was suddenly struck and lost consciousness. When I finally awoke, I found myself in an unfamiliar place. I believe an Alpha sensed that I was in heat and attacked me. I fought as hard as I could to escape, but it was difficult."

Taehyung's hands released Jin's, and he pulled him into a tight embrace, holding him close. "Okay, you don't have to say anything more," he said, his jaw clenched as he heard Jin cry. He had listened to every detail and had gathered enough information to understand the situation. "Do you have any idea about the identity of this Alpha? Was it an Alpha from your kingdom?"

"I don't know. I can't remember anything about him. Just the smell of gas and cigarettes. But..." Jin stopped himself before continuing.

"What is it, Seokjin? What aren't you telling me?"

"I think you were near there."

Taehyung pulled away from Jin as he exclaimed, "What do you mean I was there? Are you thinking I did that to you?"

"No, that's not what I am saying. I know it wasn't you." Jin said, reaching out with his uninjured hand to grasp Taehyung's. "I meant to say I woke up in the middle of the woods, surrounded by rain and mud. I can't be sure how long I had been there, but it was your distinctive scent that brought me back to consciousness. Although I couldn't see you, your powerful scent seemed to infuse me with energy, lifting me from my weakened state. I was completely confused at the time. It wasn't until I arrived at the kingdom and reencountered you that I recognized the familiar scent that had saved me that day in the woods."

"Rain and mud," Taehyung murmured, his voice barely audible as he struggled to recollect any instance when he had been near the Park's kingdom amidst such weather.

"In that moment, it's possible that you weren't there. It could be that I simply longed for someone to rescue me, letting my imagination run wild with hope."

"No. I'm certain that I was present if you caught my scent. Hoseok has access to my schedule, so he can pinpoint the exact time I was there and what I was doing there."

"I don't think it matters now. What matters is that I am safe and-"

"You don't think it matters?" Taehyung asked incredulously, his voice filled with disbelief. He was on the verge of yelling something else but visibly clenched his jaw and forced himself to maintain composure.

After a moment, his expression softened, and he spoke with sincerity, "I am sorry. You are right. I don't want you stressing or worrying about this. What matters is that you are here with me and safe."

Jin nodded in agreement and leaned his head into Taehyung's chest.

"Seokjin?"

"Yes?"

"Is there any else you want to tell me?"

Jin firmly uttered, "No," fully aware that saying anything more would be too much. Especially when there was a lot he still didn't understand.

"Okay. Let's take care of your wrist, and I really hope I never have to inflict this sort of pain on you again."

One week later

"How should we approach this?" Namjoon inquired, his gaze fixed on Taehyung, anticipating his response. "I have an idea in mind, but I'm certain you've already thought it through."

Taehyung quickly scanned the area before finally fixing his intense gaze on Namjoon. "I want every single one of them to be taken out," he declared with chilling determination.

Namjoon's eyes widened in surprise, and the guards behind him mirrored his reaction, their eyes widening. "All of them?"

"I want all of them gone. Every single Alpha in that kingdom. And before you ask, I have considered it carefully. I highly doubt the Alpha who harmed my Omega will confess, so it seems only fair that they all pay the price, including his father, for not protecting him."

Namjoon stepped closer to Taehyung, cautiously ensuring that his words would only be for Taehyung's ears. "Taehyung, no. I can't agree with that. That's ruthless. There are innocent alphas within that kingdom, and you can't contemplate killing another king! What has gotten into you? Let's approach this from a different angle. Have you considered how Seokjin would react if he were to discover your intentions?"

"As my Omega, he should be thankful. This is not an act of ruthlessness. It is a form of retribution for their inability to protect my Omega. I believe I am being lenient in my actions. I have the option to eliminate the entire kingdom. I am, however, ensuring that he still has one living parent, which is more than I currently have."

Namjoon stood in stunned silence, taking in Taehyung's serious expression. He knew that what Taehyung proposed was not the right path, and he couldn't simply lead an army to fulfill the king's wishes. After deep thought, Namjoon said, "Maybe I should seek Seokjin's perspective on this. If he agrees with your approach, I'll have to honor your words."

"What did you say?"

"In our kingdom, Seokjin, as your Omega, holds a position of leadership. In circumstances where we disagree, it is advisable to seek his perspective."

Taehyung let out a low hiss and immediately recognized what Namjoon was trying to do. It mirrored the strict protocol established due to his parents' status as Alpha leaders. Their intense drive to lead led to both their involvement when a critical decision was to be made.

"As the King, I want to know why my Omega's opinion is necessary. I am the ruler of this kingdom, including him. This is my world, and my word stands as law."

"The action you're attempting to carry out is intended to cause a bloodbath, resulting in the unnecessary loss of innocent lives. No law exists to make that acceptable! Your Omega will not be okay with that, either. Or maybe he is, but I don't know, so I will ask him..."

Taehyung's hand reached out and gently grasped Namjoon's shoulder. "You will leave Seokjin out of this. As a courtesy, I will hear the plan you had in mind."

Knowing the impact of stress on his Omega, the last thing Taehyung wanted was for him to know any of what was going on.

Jin's smile widened as he stood at a distance, watching a group of Omegas and their playful young ones. It was a rare moment of freedom for him, finally out of his confining room and enjoying some time alone. He had requested privacy from the guards, needing this moment to himself. The past few days had taken their toll on him, and this brief break was exactly what he needed.

As he gazed upon the present scenario, it prompted him to imagine what the future would hold once he took on the role of a parent. It filled him with anticipation and excitement. He eagerly pictured the kind of father Taehyung would evolve into, expecting him to be protective and caring yet hoping he wouldn't be excessively rigid when it came to disciplining their children.

"I think I threw out the wrong trash. You are quite the treasure, aren't you?"

As Jin's eyes shifted to look at the person who had spoken, a storm of emotions raged within him, though he maintained a facade of calmness. His gaze settled on Jungkook, scrutinizing every detail of him with a growing certainty. The unmistakable voice and familiar physique left no room for doubt.

It wasn't until his gaze fell upon Jimin's scars that the floodgates of memory began to crack open. Now, with Jungkook standing before him, every detail, emotion, and connection came rushing back.
