Chapter Three

"Athelaide."

The man couldn't help but think that he had already come across a name like that, maybe in a book.

"What a unique name," he said. "You may just be the right pet after all."

The whole rest of the ride remained silent between the two. Athelaide staring out the window and her new master was deep in his own thoughts.

When finally, they arrived at their destination. The man got out of the limousine and then opened the door for Athelaide.

"This," he gestured to the large mansion in front of them, "Is your new home. Follow me to your room."

He led her through the large double doors and into the mansion. The walls were filled with portraits of different beings and different cultures art pieces. They walked through many long hallways, with a few furniture that looked untouched.

Finally, they entered a white small room, with not much furniture. It only had a double bed close to the wall, a small brown wardrobe, one chair near the door and a bedside table with a blue lamp on it.

"This is where you will be staying and the wardrobe is already filled with clothes." He opened the wardrobe to show a variety of clothing, mostly in white, black and green colours.

"Now for the rules. You are to speak when spoken to, and be on your best behavior at all times. The pet owner said he has already taught you what you need to know, and don't give me a reason to punish you." He stated.

"If I may ask, what is your name?" Athelaide asked after her long silence.

"Xavier, and that's master Xavier to you."

She simply nodded her head while saying, "Yes master."

"Feel free to roam around the house if you want, but only the first floor," Xavier said, before quickly exiting the room.

Athelaide looked around her room for a few seconds before deciding to wonder around her new surroundings.

She headed out the room and down the right hallway, listening attentively at everything and instantly memorizing the place.

She couldn't help but think of her family, because the house reminded her of them. Instantly, her mood changed. She was no longer feeling calm, but angry.

She wasn't even looking at where she was going until she hit somebody.

"Who the hell are you to hit me?" A high pitched, feminine voice asked.

Athelaide looked up to see a tall, long haired blonde lady. The woman was gorgeous and looked like a model with her blue eyes and pink lips.

Athelaide did not answer, but just stare at her.

"Answer me you little piece of shit!" The girl yelled, grabbing her by the throat.

That was it. Athelaide raised her hand, and slapped her, making her head turn to the other side and making her drop her in the process.

The girl looked beyond mad. She was about to slap her back when Xavier appeared out of nowhere.

"Both of you stop it!"
