"Bring out the girl, Bellamy!" Murphy's voice carried through the camp as the small group huddled into the tent, Charlotte shaking.
Lovellas head was spinning. Everything had kicked off. And Charlotte had killed wells, not Murphy...
"Why, Charlotte?" Bellamh sighed, turning to the younger one. Lovella was pacing back and forth, biting her nails, anxiously.
"I was just trying to slay my demons, like you told me." Charlotte said, talking about the night in the cave, making Bellamy and lovella share a small look.
"What the hell is she talking about?" Clarke moved forward, looking up at Bellamy for answers.
"He said it as a metaphor." Lovella mumbled as they all turned to her. "Metaphorically, he meant. Not actually slay your demons, Charlotte. And why wells?" Lovella sighed, speaking softly to the younger girl.
"Bring the girl out now!" Murphy continued to yell as lovella rubbed her temples. She was stressing out. Murphy wanted Charlotte dead.
"Please don't let them hurt me." Charlotte pleaded, looking up at Bellamy with worry.
"If you guys have any bright ideas, speak up." Bellamy turned to the three, who stayed silent, making him scoff. "Now you stay quiet."
"Those are your boys out there." Finn pointed to the outside of the tent.
"There is no way we can convince Murphy to calm down, he wants Charlotte dead." Lovella sent a sympathetic glance to the younger girl. "You can't convince him to stop."
"You want to build a society, princess?" Murphy called out. "Let's build a society. Bring her out."
"No! Please, Bellamy, lovella." Charlotte turned to the two, making lovella sigh, walking closer to her.
"Hey, we won't let anything happen to you, okay?" Lovella nodded her head, holding the girls shoulders. "Right?" She looked up at Bellamy as the man nodded his head.
"Yeah, just stay with them." Bellamy turned to Clarke and Finn before exciting the tent.
Then, an idea popped into lovellas head. "Get her out of here. She can't stay here, not when Murphy is like this." She looked at the two with hope, but Clarke clenched her jaw. "You'll be okay." Lovella squeezed charlottes shoulder before walking out of the tent.
"Oh, Kane decided to also join the show." Murphy grinned—blood covering his face. "Why are you so hellbent on helping the girl, your father would float her, as-well." Lovella furrowed her brows as she stayed behind Bellamy.
"Dial it down and back off." Bellamy warned as he held his hand out.
"Or what? What are you gonna do, Bellamy—hang me?" Murphy smirked as he stood closer to Bellamy.
"I was just giving the people what they wanted." Bellamy said, trying to defend himself. But he was in the wrong, in lovellas eye. But this was a difficult situation.
"Yeah. Yeah, that's a good idea. Why don't we do that right now?" Murphy slowly nodded his head as he turned to the crowd around them. "So, who here wants to see the real murderer hung up?" He raised his hand—high in the air. "All in favour." Only a few raised their hands. "I see." He hummed. "So, it's okay to sting me up for nothing, but when this little bitch confesses, you wanna let her walk?"
"She's a child!" Lovella spoke up, making Murphy turn to her. "She's—like twelve! You really want to murder a child, Murphy? You're not that low." Lovella shook her head as Murphy clenched his jaw. "This isn't the ark! We can't be murdering everyone!"
"Well your, not-so father did plenty of that, did he?" Murphy grinned as lovella faltered. He always liked to bring her father up and what he did.
"Hey, Murphy! Murphy." Bellamy walked forwards, knowing that comment effected the Kane girl. "It's over." Bellamy said, getting in Murphy's face.
Murphy slowly backed away, raising his hands as he nodded. "Whatever you say, boss." Murphy agreed as Bellamy went to turn around, walking towards lovella.
But Murphy had other thoughts, quickly grabbing a piece of wood and smacking it around bellamys head. "Bellamy!" Octavia called out, but it was too late. Bellamy was on the ground. "You son of a bitch!" Octavia yelled as she went for him, but jasper jumped in front of her, making Murphy send him a punch.
"Jasper!" Lovella called out, moving from bellamys side to her best friends side. She looked up at the worried Octavia. "Go check on bell, I'll stay with jasper." Octavia nodded as she got up and went to her big brothers side.
"Come on. Let's get the girl." Murphy called to his little posy of boys. He walked towards the tent and opened the flap, seeing nothing. Making him curse out.
Lovella didn't listen to his words as she held onto jaspers shoulder, looking over at Octavia and Bellamy, the older brother still knocked out; cold.
By now, Murphy had gone to hunt down Charlotte, Clarke and Finn. And Bellamy had woken up.
Lovella wanted to go help and find Charlotte and so did Bellamy, so the pair trekked through the woods, quietly as they could.
They had walked for a while, when Bellamy held out his arm, making lovella stop. She frowned, looking up at him but she noticed the small figure, the moonlight shining off of their jacket. Charlotte.
So Bellamy moved first, walking towards the girl, who let out a small yelp. "Hey. Shh. Shh." Bellamy whispered, trying to calm her down.
"Hey, you're okay. It's us." Lovella mumbled to the girl, who furiously, shook her little head.
"No!" Charlotte tried to pull away but Bellamy held her arm, pulling her forward. "Let me go!"
"I'm trying...Hey, hey." Bellamy turned to hold her shoulders. "We're trying to help you." Bellamy told the girl as she pushed his hand away.
"I'm not your sister! Just stop helping me!" Charlotte panted, trying to break free from bellamys grasp.
"Hey, Charlotte. We are trying to help you. Murphy won't do anything, okay. You'll be okay." Lovella softly spoke, trying to calm her down.
"No! I don't need protecting!" Charlotte shook her head. "I did something wrong! There are consequences!" She sighed as she pulled away, running forwards. "I'm over here!"
Bellamy grabbed her tightly. "Are you trying to get us all killed?" Bellamy asked, worry evident in his voice.
"Just go, okay, I'm the one they want." Charlotte told him, still shaking her head.
"Okay, Charlotte, listen to me. I won't leave you—we won't leave you." He looked up at lovella, who nodded her head in agreement.
"Please, Bellamy." She said quietly this time, a sigh leaving her lips. Then she pushed away his hands, making Bellamy throw the small girl over her shoulder, making her let out screams. "Murphy! I'm over here!" She screamed as lovella followed behind them, looking over her shoulder, anxiously.
"Come on our, Charlotte! Come on out!" Murphy's loud voice carried though the Forrest and lovellas nerves were growing every second.
They continued to go through the forest, Murphy and his boys not far behind. "Murphy!" Charlotte continued to yell.
"Charlotte!" Murphy yelled back as lovella pushed a branch out of the way.
"Put me down!" Charlotte hit bellamys back multiple times as they came across a cliff, that dropped into a ocean.
Lovella sighed, running a shaky hand through her hair, sharing a look with Bellamy. "Charlotte!" Murphy shouted the younger girls name. Bellamy placed the girl down as the three looked down at the cliff.
"Damn it." Bellamy sighed, shaking his head.
"Bellamy!" Murphy pushed through the trees, the Torches in their hands illuminating the cliff. Lovella turned, her face completely pale and covered in worry and distress. "You cannot fight all of us. Give her up."
"Maybe not, but I guarantee I'll take a few of you with me." Bellamy confidently said, standing in front of Charlotte.
"She's a child, Murphy!" Lovella breathed out, looking her old friend dead in the eyes. "And you and your boys are hunting her down, planning to do what?" Lovella stood forwards as Bellamy reached to pull her back.
"Bellamy! Lovella!" Clarke and Finn brushed past the dripping trees, Clarke coming to lovellas side. "This has gone too far." The blonde turned to Murphy. "Just calm down. We'll talk about this."
Murphy looked between the two girls, then over to Charlotte and Bellamy. A hand grabbed lovellas arm, her back against Murphy's chest, knife and arm to her throat.
"Murphy!" Bellamy warned him as the knife dug into lovellas neck, making the Kane girl wince, looking at him with wide eyes.
"I'm sick of listening to you talk." He tightened his grip around lovella as he glared at clarke griffin.
"Let her go!" Clarke moved towards Murphy, who brought the knife closer to lovella, cutting her delicate skin. And unfortunately for her, her unusual black blood dropped from the cut. She was glad it was dark enough to hide it. But, Bellamy saw it, causing him to frown, but the situation gave him no time to think.
"I will slit her throat." Murphy warned lowly, trickles of blood slipping from the new cut decorating lovellas neck.
"No, please. Please don't hurt her." Charlotte cried out, watching lovella panic under Murphy's grasp.
Surely he wouldn't kill his childhood best friend...right?
"Don't hurt her?" Murphy turned to the younger girl. "Okay, I'll make you a deal." Murphy held onto lovellas shoulder, the white haired girl keeping her eyes on Bellamy and Charlotte. "You come with me right now, I will let her go."
"Charlotte, no." Lovella shook her head, gaining the knife to cut deeper. "Please." She took notice of charlottes mannerism, how her eyes closed, how her hands shook, just like lovellas.
She was a scared girl. Who did something she shouldn't have done. And now, she has no other way out of it. For murdering a innocent boy.
All because of his father.
Charlotte went to step forward, making Bellamy hold onto her. "Charlotte!" Lovellas weak voice broke. "Don't do it."
"No! No, I have to! He'll kill her!" Charlotte yelled in bellamys arms. Bellamy held onto her shoulders as he turned to Murphy and lovella.
"Murphy, this is not happening." Bellamy glared at John Murphy, watching how the knife in his hands cut into lovellas skin, blood dripping down to her chest and staining her t-shirt and jacket black. The cut was deep, lovella could tell that from the ache in her neck. Even if Murphy didn't realise how much pressure he was putting into his grip, it was doing some damage. That would scar lovella.
"I can't let any of you get hurt anymore." Charlotte shook her head, making Bellamy turn to her. "Not because of me. Not after what I did." She mumbled, turning around and throwing herself off of the cliff.
"Charlotte!" Lovella and Clarke said in unison.
Murphy's grip was non existent now, letting lovella move forward, almost tumbling over as she reached the edge of the cliff.
Charlotte had killed herself.
Lovella shook her head as she looked down at the water, a small cry leaving her mouth as she gripped onto the wet grass, Clarke and Bellamy beside her.
Lovella lowered her head, a hand on her back, keeping her from falling. Then the hand was gone as Bellamy stood up, leaving the two girls a crying mess over the child.
"Bellamy." Murphy's mutter hit lovellas ears as she leaned against Clarke for comfort.
Bellamy charged at Murphy, making the two girls quickly stand up, tears in their eyes. Tears mixing with fresh blood.
"Bellamy!" Lovella cried out as he threw punch after punch at Murphy, the two girls holding onto each other.
"Bellamy, Stop! You'll kill him!" Clarke yelled out as they moved closer. Lovellas breath got stuck in her throat as she stared down at the batted and bruised Murphy.
Finn grabbed a hold of Bellamy, pulling him off of Murphy. "Get off me! He deserves to die!" Bellamy hissed as he threw Finns hands off of him.
"No!" Clarke shook her head from beside lovella. "We don't decide who lives and dies! Not down here!" Lovellas eyes didn't move from Murphy; Murphy gathering his breath back.
"So help me God, if you say the people have a right to decide—" Bellamy let out a loud scoff.
"No! No, I was wrong before, okay?" Clarke cut the older boy off, shaking her head. "You were right! Sometimes it's dangerous to tell people the truth. But if we're gonna survive down here, we can't just live by 'whatever the hell we want'. We need rules!"
Bellamy ran a hand over his face, his knuckles painted red from Murphy's blood. "And who makes those rules, huh? You?!" Bellamy let out a frustrated yell.
"For now, we make the rules. Okay?" Clarke pointed between, Bellamy, herself, and lovella. Which confused the girl, making her look up from Murphy, towards Clarke.
"So, what, then? We just take him back and pretend like it never happened?" Bellamy pointed down at Murphy.
Lovella bit her tongue as she held onto her shaking hands, looking between Clarke and Bellamy. "No!" She sighed as she looked down at Murphy, then lovella and Bellamy. "We banish him."
They all shared a look before Bellamy made his move, crouching down to grab Bellamy by the scruff of his neck, pulling him up and dragging him towards the edge of the cliff.
"Bellamy!" Lovella let out a choked sob, Clarke holding onto her arm, looking over at the Kane girl and taking a notice to the deep cut on her neck and her blood, which made her slow frown. Why was her blood black?
Then it clicked. Her mother, Abby, told Kane about a girl with strange blood. And that was lovella Kane.
Bellamy mumbled something to Murphy, which nobody could hear. But Murphy's eyes landed on the blood stained lovella, not drowning at her blood, knowing her secret, then back to Bellamy. Then he was thrown to the floor.
"As for the four of you, you can come back and follow me, or go off with him to die." Bellamy told the others, who watched anxiously.
Lovella stared down at Murphy, letting go of Clarke. "Come on, we need to stitch your neck-" the blonde sniffed as lovella cleared her throat, hiding her cut and blood.
"Give me a minute, please." She didn't look up from Murphy, making Clarke sigh, sharing a look with Bellamy, who was already looking at lovella.
They all started to leave the area slowly, Finn and lovella being the last ones. Finn threw Murphy a knife before looking up at lovella, who slowly nodded her head.
She made sure Finn had gone before crouching down beside Murphy. "Murphy." Her weak voice said softly, the girl wiping her eyes with the back of her jacket.
But Murphy didn't look up at her, feeling ashamed, knowing the cut on her neck is what he did. To one of his old close friends.
Murphy coughed up blood, spitting the red liquid out on his chin. Blinking his eyes from the pain, he saw the sliver haired girl that he just held a knife too, standing right next to him.
""Why are you still here?" Murphy sighed, "I just had my knife to your throat." He bitterly said as she fidgeted with her hands, looking over her shoulder.
"I don't know why im here," Lovella looked intense at his wounds. "Find Paisley, the girl who dark brown hair.. eyes that are like the color of the wooden trees, she will help you. She's helped me. Just say you're a friend of mine. But be nice to her. Grounders don't take a liking to new comers." Lovella sighed as she stood back up, holding onto the cut that was on her neck. "Find a small pond, then follow a pathway. Her cave should be there. Don't startle her." She said as she turned around but paused. "Make sure you're safe, murph." She said to him before leaving him alone, the boy questioning everything she just told him.
