After lovellas training session with Paisley, she made it back to camp before anyone was awake. She had learned quite a bit about how to use a sword. Now, she wasn't a natural, she knew how to swing a sword, but not perfectly. She was proud she actually learned something. But lovella wasn't a fighter, she wasn't one for fighting. She didn't like it. She found training fun, though.
Now lovella was helping wells bury the two kids that died on the way down. She held a sad frown on her face as she patted the dirt down on the grave, turning to see wells pick up the clothes.
"You need help?" Lovella asked softly, standing up and batting the dirt off her legs. Wells turned to her and shook his head with a grateful smile.
"It's okay, I got it." He told her as she hummed, following wells back inside the camp. Lovella was worrying about her friends, but she knew they could handle herself.
They walked up the small hill and lovella couldn't help but smile at the delinquents running around, carefree. They could have the life they wanted. They weren't rotting in a cell no more. They were on Earth.
But she was quickly pulled out of the way by wells as a group of kids ran their way, making her look over her shoulder-the delinquents tackling each other.
The pair walked past the drop ship. "Hey, where'd you get the clothes?" Atom stopped the pair as lovella turned to him, standing beside wells.
"We buried the two kids who died during the landing." Wells said to him as he held the clothes and shoes.
"Smart. You know, I'll take it from here." Atom went to take the clothes but wells stood back, pushing his hand away.
"Hey, this isn't a free for all. Some of these kids might need them." Lovella moved in front of wells, shaking her head at atom.
"Exactly, we share based on need, just like back home." Wells nodded at the white haired girl as atom tilted his head.
"You still don't get it, so you, chancellor?" Bellamy walked out of the drop ship, the gun he mysteriously got in his waistband. Lovella frowned, how on gods green Earth did he get a gun? And why was he shirtless. But she shook the thoughts in her head as he stepped closer. "This is home now. Your farther's rules no longer apply." He took a shirt from wells as wells scoffed, going to move forward until atom grabbed him-lovella pulling wells back beside her. She was not letting anything happen to wells.
"Is there any need?" Lovella turned to wells with a frown. Atom tilted his head at the girl. Even though she was trying to act tough, her voice and her mannerism was gentle and soft.
"What are you gonna do, Kane? Your father isn't here to protect you." Atom challenged as well's clenched his jaw, holding onto lovellas arm.
"Atom." Bellamy pulled his friend back as he turned to wells. "You want it back?" Bellamy held the shirt in his hands. "Take it." Wells glared at the older blake, the two holding their stares as lovella sighed, taking the clothes and boots out of wells' hands and throwing them to the ground.
She turned back to Bellamy with a raised brows. "There." Lovella frowned softly, wanting to defuse the situation at hand.
"Is that what you want?" Wells asked as bellamy's stare remained on lovella. "Chaos?"
"What's wrong with a little chaos?" Bellamy shrugged with a smirk, turning to wells as he put the shirt on.
And then, there was a woman's scream, making everyone turn around. Lovella was quick to go towards the noise, ignoring wells call her name.
Lovella's eyes widened as she looked down the hill, seeing Murphy hold a girl close to the fire someone had made. Murphy smirked as he noticed the person behind lovella. "Bellamy! Check it out. We want the ark to think that the ground is killing us, right?" Lovella turned around to Bellamy, her eyes as wide as they could get. "Figure it'll look better if we suffer a little bit first."
"Let her go." Wells ran forwards, pushing Murphy over as lovella quickly walked down the hill. Lovella, being the person she is, moved towards the girl, seeing if she was alright and helping her up. "You can stop this." Wells turned to Bellamy.
"Stop this?" He smirked as he looked over to Murphy. "I'm just getting started." He shrugged his shoulders as lovella walked back over to the hill, making sure the girl was okay.
She turned back around to see Murphy throw a punch at wells, making her let a gasp out. Wells went to through a punch but Murphy was quick to swing once again.
Lovella didn't have a clue what to do. So, she turned to Bellamy, frantically looking between him and the scene. "Bellamy, stop this. Murphy will listen to you." She yelled over the cheers. Bellamy turned to her, but didn't say-or do- anything to stop the situation, making her run a hand through her hair.
Murphy had now pinned wells down, but the jaha boy quickly switched the position, getting on top of Murphy and throwing a punch at his face. But he stopped, getting up and turning around.
"Don't you see you can't control this?" He breathed heavily, pointing to Murphy, who was on the floor. Lovella looked at the ground, seeing Murphy pull a knife out, making her eyes widen.
"Wells!" She called out, moving towards him and grabbing his arm, pulling him back as Murphy went to move towards him.
"Wait." Bellamy walked forwards, making Murphy stop. Lovella let out a sigh as she kept her hand on wells' arm. Bellamy then pulled a knife out, throwing it at wells' feet. "Fair fight." Wells looked down at the knife, then back up to Murphy.
Lovella was dumbfounded, looking at the knife on the ground as she felt a arm on her arm, moving her away from the scene. She quickly pulled back her arm and turned, bellamh standing beside her as he dropped his arm. "Are you trying to make them kill each other?" She asked him.
"They won't, sunshine." Was all Bellamy said as he made sure she didn't intervene and get herself hurt. But she wasn't that stupid. But she frowned at the nickname, but didn't pay Much attention as she anxiously watched her old best-friend fight against her friend.
Wells picked up the knife as Murphy went for him, stabbing his arm as wells let out a painful gasp, lovella looking away. But wells had more willpower, grabbing Murphy and pulling the knife against his throat. "Drop it!"
"Wells!" They all turned to see Clarke and Finn walk towards them, coming out of the trees. Lovella immediately let out a sigh, seeing familiar faces. "Let him go." Clarke demanded as wells threw Murphy to the ground.
Lovella turned to see Octavia and monty walked down, making her jog towards the two. "Thank god you're okay." She pulled the two into a hug. She took notice in Octavias limo and frowned. "Oh, god. Are you okay?" Lovella said as Octavia nodded her head, small smile on her lips. "Where's Jasp?" She looked around, wanting to hug her best friend.
Monty lowered his head as Octavia bit her lip. Lovella frowned as she was about to ask again, until Bellamy made his way towards them, bringing Octavia into a hug, "where's the food?" He asked as he looked at the four.
"We didn't make it to Mount Weather." Finn sighed as he sat on a log, looking up at Bellamy.
"What the hell happened out there?" Bellamy asked with a raised voice, confused.
"We were attacked." Lovellas head immediately turned to Clarke, frown on her face.
"Attacked? By what?" Wells asked as the blonde turned to him.
"Not what. Who." Finn corrected as lovella turned to him, fiddling with her hands. "It turns out, when the last man from the ground died on the ark, he wasn't the last grounder." Lovella bowed her head as she looked at the ground. Paisley was a grounder. But she wouldn't of attacked them. She didn't attack Lovella. And there were lots of grounders according to warrior.
"It's true. Everything we thought we knew about the ground is wrong. There are people here, survivors." Clarke told the people around them. Lovella raised her head at clarkes words, already knowing this. But lovella was one to keep promises. She wouldn't say anything about Paisley. "The good news is, that means we can survive. Radiation won't kill us."
"Yeah, the bad news is the grounders will." Finn cleared his throat as lovella bit her tongue.
"But, where is jasper?" Lovella asked, looking at the four. Clarke turned to her as she breathed in.
"Jasper was hit." The blonde revealed as lovellas heart dropped, turning to monty who had the same expression as her. "They took him."
"Then we need to get him back." Lovella nodded her head as she looked at Clarke. "We can't leave him." Her voice cracked slight as monty leaned into her, hand on her shoulder.
"I know, we will." Clarke nodded her head in agreement, turning to wells and looking down at his wrist. "Where is your wristband?" She grabbed his arm. Lovella frowned, not realising he lost his wristband. She had been with wells every moment. Then she realised, they must of done it when she went to see Paisley.
"Ask him." Wells nodded his head at Bellamy as everyone turned to him.
"How many?" Clarke glared at Bellamy.
"Twenty four and counting." Murphy said proudly, smirk on his face.
"You idiots." Clarke shook her head, letting out a scoff. "Life support on the ark is failing!" She revealed as they all turned to her. "That's why they brought us down here. They need to know the ground is survivable again, and we need their help against whoever is out there. If you take off your wristbands, you're not just killing them." She breathed out as she looked up at the delinquents. "You're killing us!"
"We're stronger than you think." Bellamy stepped forwards as he spoke to the delinquents. Lovella was yet again, dumbfounded with everything that came out of his mouth. "Don't listen to her. She's one of the privileged. If they come down, she'll have it good." He pointed at the blonde. "How many of you can say the same?" Bellamy asked them. "We can take care of ourselves." Lovella turned to Octavia, who stared at her brother with confusion. Why was he so desperate to keep the ark up there? What did he do?
Lovella had people on the ark, who she loved. Her father. Her grandmother. She wouldn't let them die on the ark.
"That wristband on your arm? It makes you a prisoner." He pointed up to them. "We are not prisoners anymore!" The delinquents cheered in agreement. "They say they'll forgive your crimes. I say you're not criminals! You're fighters, survivors! The grounders should worry about us!" Lovella scoffed slightly. The grounders were an army, different clans and different weapons and warriors. They were screwed. They didn't need to go to war with these people. She didn't like fighting.
Lovella had heard enough as she walked forwards, towards the drop ship, not realising Clarke and monty following her. "What do we do now?" Monty asked as lovella turned around.
"Now we go after jasper, just like lovella said." Clarke said firmly as lovella nodded her head at the two.
Lovella had made a small pack for her and monty. She was worried for jasper. But with the things Paisley had told her about the grounder ways, they would of left jasper to die, not take him with them. So—the girl had faith.
She looked up as she heard wells and Clarke speak, "it's not your ankle, wells, it's you." Clarke said as she climbed down the ladder.
"You came back for reinforcements. I'm gonna help." Wells said as he followed her down the ladder, making lovella and monty turn around.
"He's right, Clarke. We need him. Nobody else has volunteered." Lovella sighed sadly as she walked forwards.
"I'm sorry, you two, but your both not going either." Clarke sighed as lovella frowned.
"Like hell we're not. Jasper is our best-friend." Monty scoffed as he stood beside lovella.
"You are both too important. Monty, you were raised on farm station and recruited by engineering." Clarke said as monty shrugged.
"So?"
"So? Food and communication. What's up here, is gonna save us all." She pointed to his head with a soft smile. "You figure out how to talk to the ark and I'll bring jasper back."
"What about me?" Lovella asked. "I'm going Clarke. I can't sit here whilst jasper is out there." She shook her head.
"You're a medic. You were training to be a nurse, that's helpful down here incase anyone gets injured. You have experience." Clarke pointed out.
"Nothing you say will make me stay, Clarke." Lovella shook her head as Clarke sighed, looking at lovella and nodding her head, making lovella grin. She was getting jasper back.
The white haired girl turned to monty and she pulled him into a hug. "We'll get him back. I promise. I wont come back without him." She buried her face into his neck as he hugged her back.
"Be safe." Monty told her as she hummed into his neck.
"I'm not going anywhere, and neither should any of you." Finn said as Clarke asked him if he was ready. Lovella pulled out of the hug as she turned around. "That spear was thrown with a pinpoint accuracy from 300 feet."
"So what, we let jasper die?" Monty asked with a frown.
"That's not gonna happen." Clarke turned around, speaking quickly as she turned back to Finn. "Spacewalker? What a joke." She scoffed. "You think you're such and adventurer. You're really just a coward." She shook her head as lovella watched the interaction. She then turned to wells and gave him a small smile, but it dropped as she saw the cut in his arm.
He noticed her stare and shook his head, as if he was saying there was nothing to worry about. "Lovella." Clarke turned to the girl ad she nodded her head, turning to monty with a small smile and following Clarke out of the drop ship, not before beckoning wells to follow.
The pair followed behind Clarke, the blonde walking towards the Blake's, Bellamy patching Octavias leg up.
"I don't know. The others said it looked like a giant snake." Octavia told her brother, wincing slightly due to the pain in her leg.
"You could of been killed." Bellamy told her as he tied the knot in the makeshift bandage he made.
"She would of been if jasper didn't jump in to pull her out." Clarke said as they made themselves present. Octavia turned and smiled at lovella, making the white haired girl grin.
"You guys leaving? Im coming, too." Octavia went to stand up, but Bellamy sat her back down.
"No, no. No way. Not again." Bellamy shook his head as Clarke hummed.
"He's right. Your leg's just gonna slow us down." Clarke told her as Octavia sighed in defeat. "Im here for you." Clarke turned to Bellamy, who raised a brow.
Lovella turned to wells, the boys eyes were wide. "Clarke, what are you doing?" Wells half whispered.
"I hear you have a gun." Clarke ignored wells' comment, still looking at Bellamy. Bellamy moved his shirt to reveal the gun in his waistband. "Good. Follow me."
"And why would I do that?" Bellamy asked as Clarke turned back to face him. Lovella watched silently, staying close to wells.
"Because you want them to follow you, and right now, they're thinking only one of us is scared." Clarke challenged, referring to the delinquents.
Bellamy sighed as Clarke raised a brow, turning around. Lovella turned to wells, who look slightly annoyed. "Can't be that bad. Just ignore him." Lovella positively said to wells, making him nod his head.
"Murphy. Come with me." Bellamy told the boy, now making lovella turn to wells with wide eyes.
"Yeah, no, I'm staying." She went to turn around, wells grabbing her arm and turning her back around, pulling her along—following Clarke. "This is torture." She puffed out, hands in her pockets.
"Like you told me, ignore him." Wells nudged her as she turned to him. "It'll be fine...hopefully."
"Hopefully."
Lovella took in the beautiful environment, barely listening to Clarke and wells as she looked at the trees. Being alone in her thoughts, she thought about her family on the ark, making her look down at her bracelet around her wrist.
Wells pushed a branch out of the way for lovella, making her smile at him, ducking under the branch.
"Hey, hold up." Bellamy's voice carried through the woods, making the three turn to him. "What's the rush? You don't survive a spear through the heart." He smirked as he waved his gun in the air.
"Put the gun away, Bellamy." And it was going to kick off.
"Well, why don't you do something about it, huh?" Murphy moved forwards and pushed wells back, making lovella sigh, turning to Clarke-unimpressed.
"Jasper is in danger. He could be seriously harmed." Lovella told the boys. "Rather than having a stupid cat fight, we can go save him. We have to time to waste." She breathed out, pulling wells back and turning to Murphy, who raised a brow.
"Lovella Kane, saving the day?" Murphy smirked as lovella frowned, shaking her head at his antics.
"Lovella is right." Clarke nodded in agreement. "We have no time to waste. Jasper screamed when they moved him. If the spear struck his heart, he'd have died instantly. It doesn't mean we have time to waste."
Clarke went to turn around until Bellamy grabbed her arm. "As soon as you and sunshine take your wristbands off, we can go." Bellamy looked between the two girls.
"The only way the ark is gonna think I'm dead, is if I'm dead." Clarke pulled her hands back, glaring at Bellamy. "Got it?" Lovella was in awe of her boldness.
"Brave princess." Bellamy smirked as he moved his attention to lovella, who was staring at her own wristband. Nothing could make her take the wristband off.
"Hey, why don't you find your own nickname?" Finn appeared out of the blue, the group turning to him. "You call this a rescue party? Got to split up, cover more ground. Clarke, come with me." That meant wells and lovella were stuck with Bellamy and Murphy.
Lovella quickly turned to wells and pulled him in the opposite direction from Clarke and Finn. Wells kept his eyes trained on Clarke as they moved away from them. "Guess we got more in comment than meets the eye, huh?" Bellamy spoke towards wells, making the Jaha boy turn around.
"We have nothing in common." Wells scoffed as lovella turned to look forwards, seeing Murphy walk up ahead.
"No? Both came down here to protect someone we love." Bellamy said, making lovella turn to wells.
"You have the eyes for Clarke?" Lovella teased slightly, walking backwards, her childish self coming out. She saw wells' face, making her nod her head. "Sorry, not the time, I'll walk forwards now." She sent wells and Bellamy a thumbs up, before her back knocked against something, making the Kane girl turn around.
"Watch where you're going." Murphy turned around as as lovella raised her hands.
"You walk slow, that's not my fault." She tilted her head with a grin. Murphy pulled a face, making her sigh. "I'm just trying to keep my mind off jasper, y'know, bring a little light to the situation."
"Well, I'm not in the mood for your sunshine and rainbows, Kane." Murphy shook his head with a slight glare. Lovella bit her tongue as she nodded her head.
"Got it." She gave him a slight smile, walking past him. All lovella ever wanted was to rekindle her friendship with Murphy, but he was a stubborn one. His fathers death broke him and lovella had tried to be there for him, but, not enough.
