Lovella stood beside a crouched clarke, wiping her eyes with Bellamy's jacket that he let her keep. Wells was dead. Killed by a grounder when he was on watch. lovella was devastaded. She really likes wells, he was her friend. So, she and clarke paid their respects, looking down on his grave. The two were silent, sharing the same grief.
Now they had lost another member of the 100.
"Im gonna check on jasper." lovella cleared her throat, running a hand through her knotted hair. "You going to be okay?" Lovella asked softly, her hand laying on Clarke's shoulder.
"Yeah, ill be fine." Clarke nodded her head, squeezing Lovellas hand. "Thank you." Lovella sadly smiled, squeezing her shoulder before walking back into camp, wiping the tears that were failling from her eyes.
She walked over to the dropship, seeing Miller struggle to tie a knot around a piece of wood. "You need help?" She called over to him, making the boy in the beenie look up. She walked over to him when he sent her a nod. "Just watch what i do." She tolf him as she held the rope in her hands, tying it into a knot, then tying it again, pulling the ropes. "There." She sent him a smile.
"When did you learn how to do that?" Miller asked with raised brows.
"Earth skills lessons. Now they make sense." She let out a small chuckle, making Miller smile at her, watching as she walked into the drop ship.
She was quick to climb up on the ladder, smiling at the three familiar faces. "Hey, how's my survivor?" She said softly, sitting beside jasper and Octavia.
"I'm good, doctor Kane." The weak jasper smiled up at her.
"I was about to take jasper out side of the walls if you wanna come." Octavia suggested with a grin, making lovella nod her head.
"Of course!" She hummed as the three shared a smile. Lovella then turned to monty. "You still working on the wristbands?"
"Yep. None of them are working." Monty sighed as lovella frowned.
"Don't worry. You'll figure it out. You're the brains after all." Lovella squeezed his hand as monty nodded his head. "Well, come on. Let's go for that walk. I need to be cheered up." She sadly said, the death of wells and Atom still weighing on her shoulders. She didn't want any other of her friends to die.
"Don't need to ask me twice." Octavia grinned as she stood up, making jasper slowly sit up.
"You need help?" Lovella immediately asked jasper, standing by his side and holding out her hand.
"No, it's okay." Jasper confidently said as lovella, monty and Octavia shared another look. Jasper sighed as he failed to get up, looking at the two girls. Lovellas hand still held out for him to take.
He breathed out, grin on his face as he placed his hand in lovellas, carefully helping him up. She kept a firm, but gentle grip on jasper, Octavia also helping. "We won't be long, mont." Lovella told him, looking over her shoulder and smiling at him.
Both the girls delicately helped jasper down the ladder and out of the drop ship. Lovella took notice of jaspers weary steps towards the wall, looking around with wide eyes.
She placed her hand in his, giving it a squeeze. "Hey, it's okay Jasp. We're here. Nothing is going to happen." She murmured with a soft smile that jasper was use to.
The boy slowly nodded his head, squeezing her hand, trying to reassure himself. "Look, we're already there." Octavia turned around, looking at the two with a wide grin on her face. "Just a few steps, okay?"
Jasper still stood against the wall, Octavia pulling lovella by her hand. "Jasp," The white haired girl held out her pale hand once again. "Just one step."
Octavia turned around once again, pausing. "Hey. What's wrong?" She frowned, looking over at jasper, who held his hand against his chest, a petrified look decorating his pale face.
"Oh, nothing. I'm good." He confidently said, not wanting to look like a scaredy cat. Jasper wanted to impress Octavia, and lovella could see that.
"Jasper, it's been a week, okay?" Octavia tilted her head as lovella moved back to his side. Octavia spun around, walking further. "You've been given a second chance. You gotta use it!" She said. Lovella turned to him with a confident smile, but it stopped as they heard Octavias scream, the younger girl being pulled behind a rock.
"Tavia?" Lovella called out, worried. She kept her grip on jaspers hand as they both walked forwards.
"Octavia! Are you okay?" Jasper followed lovella, the two walking very quickly to help their friend. Then a kid jumped out and scared them, his hand on Octavias mouth as he grinned.
Lovella breathed out, hiding her face behind her hands and leaning into jasper. "Hey, jerk!" Octavia pushed the delinquent away. "Get the hell out of here!"
Lovella gathered her breath back, lowering her hands to her knees as she looked up at jasper, who turned back around. "Christ." She breathed out, sitting up as Octavia came to her side.
"Jasper, come on." Octavia whined, wanting to help her friend. "There's nothing to be afraid of." And jasper fell in front of the two, lovella going to his side as she tried to help him up.
But something caught jaspers gaze, his eyes widening, fear evident in them. Lovella and Octavia followed his gaze, then lovellas heart dropped. A knife and two cut off fingers.
"I'm going to be sick." Lovella mumbled to herself, looking away and staring behind her, her hand still on jaspers back.
The three immediately informed Clarke and Bellamy, which made them all huddled up in a tent, Clarke examining the knife the three found with the fingers.
Lovella bit on her tongue, standing firmly beside jasper. "This knife was made of metal from the drop ship." Clarke realised as she looked at the handmade knife.
"W...what do you mean?" Jasper stuttered, looking up with Clarke with wide eyes.
"Who else knows about this?" Bellamy turned to the three.
"Just us. We came here immediately after we found them." Lovella answered in a low voice, her hands fiddling with the sleeves of her jacket.
"Clarke?" Jasper mumbled as the blonde looked up at him.
"It means the grounders didn't kill wells." That made lovella breath out, knowing the grounders had nothing to do with wells death. But then her heart dropped. One of the 100 did. "It was one of us."
"So, there's a murder in the camp?" Jasper breathed in, a look of unsureness on his face. Lovella squeezed his hand, stroking her thumb over the top of his hand.
"There's more than one murderer in this camp." Bellamy said, pointing to the outside of the camp. "This isn't news. We need to keep it quiet."
Lovella was unsure of what should happen. If they told the 100, an outburst would occur in the camp, and that wouldn't be good. But she wanted to know who murdered her friend in cold blood. But she didn't know what would happen if they found the killer. She didn't want anyone to be harmed.
Clarke then went to exit the tent, but Bellamy stood in front of her. "Get out of my way, Bellamy." Clarke gritted her teeth, glaring up at the older boy.
"Be smart about this." Bellamy told her, arms crossed over his chest. "Look at what we've achieved. The wall, the patrols. Like it or not, thinking the grounders killed wells is good for us."
Lovella looked up at bellamys words. She wasn't that sure about what he said. The grounders weren't all that bad. Lincoln and Paisley never made her feel threatened and she liked the two grounders. The 100 did land in their home, they had a right to be frustrated and angry.
"Oh, good for you, you mean." Clarke scoffed, looking up at him. "What? Keep people afraid and they'll work for you?" Clarke narrowed her eyes. "Is that it?"
"Yeah, that's it." Bellamy hummed, nodding his head in agreement. "But it's good for all of us."
"What if this person kills more people?" Lovella spoke up, everyone turning to her, making her look up with wide eyes. "I-i mean, why kill wells? I don't think nobody hated him that much. We need to think about this, not be rational. We don't want to scare the people." And she was in the middle. She understood bellamys side : she understood clarkes side. "We don't even know who killed wells, so going out there right now, it's not a good idea Clarke."
"Oh, really?" Clarke turned to her, holding the knife in her hands. "J.M." She pointed to the knife as lovella's eyes widened. "John Murphy." Lovella bowed her head. There was no way Murphy would kill wells, right? They did but heads here and there. But would he kill well? "The people have a right to know." She shoved Bellamy out of the way.
Lovella sighed. She knew for a fact, this wouldn't be good. She quickly brushed past Bellamy and followed Clarke out of the tent.
"You son of a bitch!" Lovella saw Clarke push Murphy backwards, a frustrated scream leaving her lips.
But Murphy let out a chuckle, raising his hands. "What's your problem?" He asked, clearly confused.
Lovella watched with furrowed brows as Clarke pulled out his knife. "Recognise this?" She hissed at him, holding the knife in his face.
Now everyone had gathered around the scene. "It's my knife. Where'd you find it?" He asked her as he went to grab it, but Clarke pulled her hand away.
"Where you dropped it after you killed wells!" Clarke pushed him once again—her glare remaining on Murphy as his face faltered.
"Where I what?" He breathed out a small laugh, confused. Lovella stood uncomfortably beside Octavia, monty and jasper, wanting this situation to stop. She knew this wouldn't end well. And she was scared. "The grounders killed wells, not me."
"I know what you did, and you're gonna pay for it!" Clarke threatened him, getting close to his face in a threatening way.
"Clarke, we don't know for sure. Somebody could of taken his knife." Lovella inputted quietly, making the blonde turn.
"How naive can you be?! It was clearly him!" Clarke spun around and pointed into Murphy's face as lovella let out a defeated sigh—standing closer towards her friends. She was fighting a loosing battle.
"Really?" Murphy slowly nodded his head as he looked up at Bellamy. "Bellamy, you really believe this crap?"
But Bellamy stayed silent, arms crossed over his chest as Octavia tilted her head, staring at the scene. "You threatened to kill him. We all heard you!" Clarke continued, wanting to avenge her dead friend. "You hated wells."
"Plenty of people hated wells." Murphy scoffed. "His father was the chancellor that locked us up."
"Yeah, but you're the only one who got in a knife fight with him!" Clarke quickly cut him off with a yell.
"Yeah, I didn't kill him then, either." Murphy sighed, clearly annoyed at the situation.
"He tried to kill jasper, too." Lovellas eyes widened as she turned to her best friend, who's eyes also widened at the comment Octavia made.
"What?" Jasper mumbled anxiously, looking around as lovella reached to grab his hand, giving it a small squeeze.
"Come on. This is ridiculous. I don't have to answer to you. I don't have to answer to anyone!" Murphy scoffed once again as he looked at the people around him.
"Come again?" Bellamy challenged, raising his head as Murphy's face faulted once again, fighting a loosing battle all by himself. He even made the effort to look at lovella for some help, but she was just staring down at the ground.
"Bellamy, look, I'm telling you, man. I didn't do this." Murphy now turned serious—walking over to Bellamy—clearly wanting someone to back him up and defend him.
"They found his fingers in the ground with your knife." Bellamy said lowly, slowly shaking his head.
Murphy was defeated.
"Is this the kind of society that we want?" Clarke spoke up, once again. "You say there should be no rules." She turned to him and Bellamy. "Does that mean that we can kill each other without punishment?"
"I already told you. I didn't kill anyone." Murphy spun around, walking towards the blonde.
"I saw we float him!" Conner said from behind Clarke, making lovellas head snap up.
"How does that make us different from them?" Lovella shook her head, pointing up to the sky—talking about the ark. "We slated their ways, but now, you're happy to do what they did?"
That made people mumble things—talking to each other as lovella lowerred her head, out of her comfort zone.
"Well, why not? He deserves to float. It's justice." Connor replied back after a moment of silence.
"Revenge isn't justice." Clarke spoke back, shaking her head as the sides turned against her.
"It's justice. Float him!" Conner yelled as the delinquents cheered to float John Murphy.
"Float him! Float him! Float him!"
Murphy went to move, but a kid kicked his leg, making him fall straight to the floor. Lovellas feet stayed glued to the floor, staying beside her three friends.
Clarke was pushed, left, right, and everywhere, trying to get the delinquents to stop. But she started something she couldn't finish.
Octavia went to intervene but Bellamy pulled her back, making sure she doesn't get hurt. "Let him go!" Clarke yelled as the kids tied the red seatbelt around his mouth.
Lovella didn't know what to do. She wanted to help him, but she didn't know how. She couldn't fight against the delinquents.
But she saw Charlotte being pushed around in the crowd, making lovella move forward, pulling her away from the crowd and ignoring Bellamys protests for her to get back.
Murphy was thrown down a hill, his hands tied behind his back. Lovella made sure to keep Charlotte by her side as they followed the crowd.
They all worked together to throw a rope around a tree and lovellas heart dropped. They were going to hang him.
Clarke moved to help but Conner pushed her away. "Get off me!" She pushed him backwards.
"Bellamy, you need to do something-anything. They'll listen to you." Lovella pleaded, looking up at Bellamy, who was just watching the scene with wide eyes.
The delinquents continued to cheer as they tied to rope around his neck, pulling him up and making him stand on a box.
"You can stop this!" Clarke yelled over the cheers, pointing towards Bellamy. "They'll listen to you!"
"Bellamy! You should do it." Conner pointed at Bellamy, as the kids cheered for him. "Bel-la-'y!"
Lovella was shaking. He was going to die. Her childhood friend was going to die in the hands of their people. And she couldn't do anything.
She was helpless..
"I saw you and lovella in the woods with atom. I know you're not a killer." Clarke pointed up at Bellamy, pleading with him to stop this.
"Bellamy, please! They can't kill him." Lovella added as he turned to look down at her, then turning to Murphy, who was shaking his head.
Then, Bellamy made his move. He kicked the box from under Murphy, making him hang down.
Lovella let out a painful gasp, covering her mouth with her hands—tears evident in her eyes.
Lovella looked down at Charlotte, who's eyes were wide and she was clearly shaking—as was lovella. "This is on you, princess. You should've kept your mouth shut!" Bellamy yelled in clarkes face.
"What the hell are you doing?" Finn yelled over the cheers, pushing past everyone. "Cut him down! Lovella, get Charlotte out of here now!" Finn held onto lovellas shaking shoulder.
Then Connor held a knife to Finns throat, his hand wrapped around his collar. Lovella held onto Charlotte, who suddenly spoke up. "Stop! Okay? Murphy didn't kill wells!" She breathed out heavily, making everyone stop what they were doing. "I did!"
Lovella let go off her, a strained breath leaving her lips. "Oh, my god." Clarke shook her head as she grabbed the axe form Bellamy, cutting the rope down.
Lovella stared down at Charlotte, looking up at Bellamy, who was also frozen in place. She fought her demons.
