Still not back, but have something
"H-hello." He managed to stutter out.
"Well well well." The woman in the cloak said. "If it isn't my old friend." She had managed to wedge herself in front of me, trapping me in the corner.
"Yeah, old friends, r-right?" He asked hopefully.
"You know why I am here." She asked.
"Y-your d-d-d-duty?"
"Of course." She rolled her eyes. "So I want you to spend the night with someone. I don't care who or how."
"B-b-but you can't just roll in here and k-k-"
She snapped a hand out, gripping his jaw tightly, and snarled in his ear. "I can do whatever I want to. And you can't stop me, so go run along, you may have my favor now, but another few words, and you could just as well lose it." She let go of him, and added, rather softly. "You are still under my veil, and you still have my protection, remember that."
"W-who?" He asked. "Who are you going to-"
"So you can warn them?" She asked. "Go ahead, try. The only thing that will change is that there will be two dead bodies."
"Who." He asked, attempting not to show any emotion.
"The killer of three nights." The woman said. "Three of my servants. You should know, as he bragged of beating the Dark loud enough to draw me to him."
"Dark." He stopped, sighing. "You don't have to be the villain anymore."
He would have said more, had she not slammed him against the wall, a forearm across his throat. "I have not killed you yet, though I have tortured men to insanity for less than you have done. Be glad I am not true evil."
She stalked away, leaving him to stand, alone, still shaking.
