i wont leave you alone
a/n so before we start this chapter, I need to fill you guys in on something about this chapter. in this imagine, cisco will be visiting the spot where dante died. now a lot of you are from different countries so theres a culture thing i need to explain. in the south (in the US) when someone is killed in a car accident (like dante) we put a little memorial on the side of the road in the spot where they were killed. while the flash is not set in the south, I had this chapter idea and still wanted to write it. thanks for reading . P.S. i promise this chapter is not all sad and that you'll want to read it ;)
He stood there just staring at it. The memorial that was put up for Dante in the spot....where it happened....the thought was nice, but Cisco couldn't help but be haunted by it.
He really missed him today.
Today was really hard.
A tear escaped and made its way down his face.
"Cisco?" he heard a voice behind him.
He remained still, tear-filled eyes glued to the little wooden cross staked into the ground. He knew it was you behind him.
"What are you doing?" he asked, still not turning to meet your gaze.
"I won't leave you alone." you rested your head on his shoulder and held him with your right arm.
"I told you, just take the car back to the lab. I need to just be here for a while." he sniffed.
"Cisco, I'm not just going to leave you alone on the side of the road." you stroked his shoulder with your thumb in a comforting manner.
"I just need to be here for a while, okay?" he sounded angry. You tried not to flinch. But Cisco's response made you realize that you must have not done a very good job.
"Baby, I'm not mad at you, it's just.." he cried a little more freely this time.
"Cisco, I know. I know, baby. But why here? Huh?" you took his left shoulder in your free hand and looked at him, trying to meet his eyes. They were covered by his right hand that was trying to hide his distress.
"Why don't you go visit his grave instead of the place where he died? Come on. I'll drive us there. You can talk to him instead of torturing yourself."
"I guess" he wiped his face with both hands. You gave him a kiss on the forehead, running your hand down the back of his head and felt his soft curls between your fingers.
~.~
His brother's name at the top.
The middle spoke of who he was to those that loved him.
At the bottom was the day that his baby brother was born. Next to it, the day that one man made a reckless decision to drink and drive and take Cisco's brother from him forever.
There would be no more Christmas memories made. There would be no rehashing their brotherhood and becoming close. There would be no more chances to call a truce and stop their rivalry. There would be no more piano pieces at Thanksgiving to bring Abuella to tears and making her beg Cisco to bring out his guitar and play for them. There would be no more memories made with Dante. He was gone. Just because one guy couldn't stay off of the roads.
"Y/N" you heard Cisco's voice weakly call for you, almost like a cry for help. And you knew it had to be.
You quickly made your way to his side to hold his hand supportively, only for him to fall into your arms, a sobbing mess.
"Please dont go yet" he cried.
"I won't leave you alone" you closed your eyes and just held him.

After a while, Cisco was ready to say some things. Neither of you really believed that people stayed at their graves after they died, but this seemed more practical than writting a letter. And Cisco needed some closure. You sat in the car and listened to some quiet music as Cisco had his alone time talking.
Cisco didn't visit Dante's grave very often because it hurt him so much, but when he did go see Dante to talk, he leads the conversation in Spanish.
(a/n but in English cause I'm tired of hate and yall don't want to have to look in the comments for THIS much)
"You remember (y/n) don't you? Sure you do. She's the only girl I've ever brought home that you didn't drive away. You told her she was alright. Well, boy, she's more than alright. She loves me. So much. She takes care of me. She's there for me." he paused and turned back to see you bobbing your head to the soft song you were listening to. He smiled for the first time all day.
"She's promised not to leave me alone. I'm going to finally make that promise to her official. I don't know when we'll ever get to get married. Our lives are so....crazy. But I don't want her to think I'm not in it for the long run. I'm going to talk to her at home. It's been a rough day."
~.~
"On the day that you were born the angels got together and decided to create a dream come true"
You thought about how much that line in the song you were listening to made you think of your sweet boy. You hoped he wanted a forever like you. Either way, you knew that you would always be there for him no matter what.
~.~
"I love you, brother. I really do hope I see you again."
~.~
Hours passed and Cisco felt much better. He was acting like himself again.
"Y/N, Can I talk to you?" he asked as you were slaving over dinner for the both of you.
"On the day that you were born the angels got together and decided to create a dream come true."
You turned down the volume on the music. The same song you had been listening to in the car, now playing through your speaker.
"Of course, love. What is it?"
"Well, Y/N, I want you to always be around."
"I will be, baby. I won't leave you alone." you smiled.
"I won't leave you alone." He repeated.
"Never" you smiled.
He opened a ring box to reveal a rose gold band. It was made to appear as two knots together, but not completely tied.
"I just want to promise you officially." He smiled.
"Cisco..." you lost your words, tears filling your eyes.
"I won't leave you alone. I want to make a forever, the two of us. But I feel like we're already forever. I want you to know that I'm serious about us. I want to be officially engaged one day and plan a wedding and all that good stuff, but our lives are so crazy right now."
"Cisco, I don't know what to say" You were rendered breathless.
"Give me your hand, angel." He chuckled
You gave him your left hand and he slipped the ring onto it.
"It's a promise ring. We'll tie the knot, just not yet."
You smiled.
"I hope you dont think it's too corny."
"I'm looking for corny in my life" you quoted the movie, The Holiday.
"You and your movies" Cisco pretended to be annoyed.
"Speak for yourself" You both laughed.
Tears streamed down your face, but you were so happy.
"I love you, Francisco Paco Ramon."
"I love you, (y/f/n) (y/m/n) (y/l/n)."
You threw yourself in his arms and he held you close.
A/n song of the chapter (the one featured) is Close To You by The Carpenters. Such a sweet love song. I hope you guys liked this. I'm not ready for Cisco and Y/N to get married and engaged and all just yet, so i hope this satisfied. I actually have this ring and it's what gave me the idea. :)
