Kris Zaretsky

Name: Kris Zaretsky
Country of Origin: Canada (Russian descent)
Act: Beast Tamer

The tall Russian strolled through the local fish market, hunched over and discreet. He hated the scent of seafood almost as much as school. The smell of the sea and ocean was not his style whatsoever nor was the act of studying hard for an uncertain future. As he quickened his pace, puffs of smoke escaped his lips due to the cold, winter air. The snow crunching underneath his feet and his nose red from the below zero temperatures. This was the usual winter all Canadians had to put up with. Soon, Kris arrived at his mother's book store where he worked full time as a delivery boy. As he swung the door open, the silver bell above rang timidly and a gust of wind greeted those inside with a chill. The boy's mother stood behind the wooden counter, glasses perched on the bridge of her nose and her eyes focused on her daily planner. Kris stomped his soaking boots on the welcome mat and cleared his throat, instantly catching her attention.

"Ah! Kristoff, darling! I have a delivery for you. Not a far distance, thank goodness!" His mother grinned ecstatically as she gestured her hand towards a package of books wrapped in brown paper. Kris obeyed and tucked the parcel underneath his arm before snatching a slip of paper with the buyer's address.

"6 Raspberry Rd? That is where the folks with top hats and fine clothing live! Why are they ordering here?!" The blonde exclaimed loudly in confusion. His mother's eyes widened in anger due to his volume and a few customers had their heads turned to his direction. "Pardon me,"

He bowed out of the humble shop and began to briskly walk along the cobblestone to where the fancy homes stood. In just five measly minutes, his toes were already numb and so were his fingertips. Eventually, he reached the first row of mansions on Raspberry road. Kris sighed deeply and went on to number six, which seemed the most elegant and impressive on the street. He placed his freezing hand on the golden knocker and tapped it against the door three times. He gasped in shock once the door swung open only milliseconds after. A tall man of middle age stood before him, dressed nicely in a black suit and a perfectly trimmed mustache.

"State your business, young man," the man demanded, scaring Kris yet again, but with his stern voice this time.

"U-uh, I have a delivery for...uh...Suho Allington?" The Russian stuttered as he shakily presented the parcel of books. All of a sudden a thunder of footsteps were heard behind the butler, as if someone was sprinting down wooden steps. A young man, about 13 years old appeared by the servant's side. He was properly dressed, his hair was neatly combed back, and his cheeks were a cute shade of pink.

"Thank you," Suho said bluntly, a surprise since the speed he came in expressed a ton of excitement. "Nigel, fetch me my coat. I will walk the delivery boy back. It is the only kind thing to do since he walked all this way,"

"You did not have to come along, Mister Suho," Kris half smiled, tucking his hands into his jacket pockets. During the stroll, Suho just followed along without a word, he flinched at sudden movements in the market, and his cheeks glowed a brighter pink due to the cold.

"I rarely go out,"

"Oh...well...we've arrived~!" Kris tried to lighten the mood with a bit more emotion in his speech and a slight smile, but Suho only continued to frown. The young heir turned towards the little book store and sniffled quietly.

"It's beautiful. I must pay you for your travels...?" The brunette man offered, pausing at the end to catch his guide's name.

"Zaretsky, Kris Zaretsky,"

"Ah, a fine name!" Suho grinned, shockingly showing a glint of happiness. He raised his hand near Kris' ear and pulled away quickly to reveal a few dollar bills in his palm. "Poof! Magic!"
