Chapter Nine
She Didn't Even Say It

3rd Person POV

she ran out of the school and continued to run until she got to the shop and she looked around as she noticed reggie sitting with luke and alex. She walked inside and she sat down as she looked at them

"we have to go to julie's so you can apologize so let's go" she said as she tried to take her mind off of it. she teleported back home and went up the loft as the boys walked in and waited for julie

"we're sorry, so sorry, we're super-duper, crazy. stupid, sorry" they sang as julie walked in

"in case, you missed it we're really sorry" reggie said and astrid smacked her forehead

"yeah i think she got that reg" she exclaimed

"but anyways julie it was okay that we flaked on the dance last night, we know we let you down and none of us wanted to disappoint it. you're the best that's happened to us since we became ghosts" Alex stated

"yeah you can say that again" astrid said as she teleported downstairs next to alex

"so in hopes that you rejoin the band; we booked a new gig" Luke said and he handed her the paper

" a mega important life-changing gig" reggie said and astrid sighed as she zoned out again as she ignored the way julie talked to the boys

"i'll tell you why cause there's only one thing that you care about and that's yourself" and that's when astrid zoned back in

"hey wait no , julie im sorry and i love you but you don't know us or our life before you. he actually cares about a lot more than this band or what's going for us. let's go inside and talk" astrid said and luke left as astrid went inside with julie

"what don't i know?" julie asked

"okay Me and alex's  parents are heavily homophobic OK they never accepted that I was not straight and they never excepted that Alex was gay. Reggie's parents fought  all the time OK, but we had nowhere to go , we went to Luke and he took care of us. I know that it seems like he just cares about himself and believe me I used to think the same thing too but he doesn't Julie he cares a lot more about the band in about you and about everything" Astrid said and tears grew in her eyes as alex stood behind her with reggie

"luke went somewhere and we need to show you where he went" she said and julie nodded as she stood up and they walked with each other to luke's house 

" And this is Luke's house, that's Emily" Astrid spoke as they looked in through the window. luke sat on the counter as they watched them and astrid sighed. she felt bad for him , it was his birthday and she didn't even say

"he comes here all the time" reggie spoke and astrid leaned her head on alex's shoulder before she looked at reggie and he walked over as he grabbed her hand and squeezed. they went back to the house and started to practice as luke teleported in

"grab a guitar we got work to do" julie said and astrid smiled

"what make you come back?" he asked and they talked

"all right boss where we at?" he asked julie and they started to work

"happy birthday luke" astrid said and she kissed his cheek as he blushed and alex smiled at the look on reggie's face as julie smiled at them

they stayed in the shed as julie went inside and they waited for julie but she didn't come back. they waited and waited until astrid got tired of it and she teleported up to outside of julie's room and she knocked on the door

"hello" julie asked

"it's astrid , can i come in?" she asked and julie laughed before she opened the door and she let astrid in as the boys teleported in and she looked at them

"jesus guys privacy is a thing" she exclaimed and they smiled at her

"jules we have to leave in 10 minutes, we go on in 20" astrid stated

"i lied to my dad, so now i'm stuck in my room all night" julie said and astrid looked at luke who held the mischievous look

"no you're not, you're leaving through the window, let's go jules" she said and she opened the window as she snuck out the window and they left. they got to the venue and looked around

"holy shit our dream guys" she said and reggie rubbed her shoulders as he smiled down at her and julie came in. she walked over to the with flynn and dirty candy went on

"alex go channel your inner girlboss" astrid said halfway through the performance and alex smiled at her before he teleported on the stage and she smiled brightly as he danced with them

"GO ALEX" she yelled with luke and they watched him with a smiled before he came back

"go back lex" she said and he got back on stage as he danced and she laughed with a smile on her face and the song ended as she cheered for alex and he smiled

"making me blush" he said and he came back as she high-fived him and he smiled at her

"i was just doing that for you guys" alex said and she chuckling

"yeah. you can stop smiling now" reggie said and astrid blushed before she looked down at julie and carried walked over with dirty candy.

"your handwriting sucks luke" astrid said and they walked onstage as julie got to the keyboard and flynn turned on the projector. julie started to play and astrid fist-bumped luke before she high-fived alex and messed with reggie's hair

"let's do this boys" she said and they appeared as they started to sing with julie. reggie sang into the mic with astrid and luke sang with julie. astrid smiled at them before they continued. the bridge hit and she let julie sing with luke. astrid smiled at reggie and alex in acknowledgment

"ok chemistry" she whispered and reggie giggled before they began to play again. the song ended and they disappeared as they bowed

"WE ROCKED THAT" astrid said and she smiled at reggie as she hopped on the counter and draped her arms over reggie's shoulder

"guys business lady coming this way" Astrid said and the lady walked over before julie's dad called for her

"oh that's just lovely" astrid said and she dropped her head onto reggie's

she felt him sigh before they teleported back to julie's house. that was their chance and it was lost

maybe they would get another and hopefully soon
