Gracie, a 15 year old girl watches from the crack of a door to her father, Doctor Strange's study. 

She watched him do different symbols and shapes. 

(Author's Note #1: Here is a reference and what Doctor Strange usually wears.) 

(Author's Note #2: Here is what Gracie is wearing in the story.) 

Suddenly, two arms wrapped around Gracie's waist, making the 15 year old scream and laugh playfully out loud. 

The study door then was opened quickly by Doctor Strange. 

The woman that wrapped her arms around Gracie's waist was the young brunette's mother, Kunzite, who was the wife of Doctor Strange. 

(Author's Note: This is my mom, Kunzite's outfit.) 

"You little stinker, watching your father do his magic in his study again?" Kunzite asked with a playful smile across her face. 

Gracie smiled childishly and nodded. 

Doctor Strange smiled softly at his wife and daughter. 

"Well, maybe if it is okay with your father to see if he can do his magic for you whenever you ask nicely-" Kunzite said before going into a coughing fit. 

This made Doctor Strange rush towards his wife. 

Gracie looks at her mother worriedly. 

"Mama..." Gracie said softly and worriedly. 

It had seemed like Gracie's world had slowed down in time. 

In unaudible, Doctor Strange told Gracie that she needed to help take Kunzite the master bedroom while he was going to call the doctor's office to send a doctor over. 

Gracie nodded with a worried expression on her. 

She helped Kunzite go to the master bedroom. 

A few or five hours later, the doctor came over and followed Doctor Stephen up to the master bedroom to check out Kunzite's health. 

Doctor Strange waited outside of the master bedroom for the doctor's answers on Kunzite's current health at that moment. 

Soon after a good 10 to 15 minutes, the doctor steps out of the master bedroom, gently closing the door right behind him. 

Doctor Strange looked at the doctor. 

Gracie watched from the doorway of her bedroom. 

The young girl couldn't really make out what Doctor Strange and the doctor were saying or talking about, but she knew it was about her mother's health. 

Doctor Strange thanked the doctor. 

As the doctor heads out, Doctor Strange walks in the direction of Gracie's bedroom and not even noticing as Gracie goes into her bedroom and closes her bedroom as quickly as she could without being caught seeing the conversation. 

Gracie goes onto her bed and sat on her bed. 

The young girl grabs a book called "Everything, Everything" and starts pretending to read the "Everything, Everything" book as if she didn't see the conversation when she heard Doctor Strange knock on her bedroom door. 

"Come in." Gracie said trying to be calm. 

Doctor Strange opened the bedroom door, entered into Gracie's bedroom, and closed the bedroom door right behind him. 

(Author's Note #3: This is what Gracie's bedroom would look like.) 

"Gracie, dear, there is no easy way of saying this, but your mother's health has gotten worse and she only has a few months to live." Doctor Strange said sadly. 

Gracie looks at Doctor Strange with a sadden expression on her face. 

She wanted to believe this wasn't true, but didn't know what to believe. 

The young girl drops her book and rushes to the master bedroom. 

Gracie bursts into the master bedroom to see Kunzite lying in bed to get some rest for her health from what the doctor said. 

Her mother's face went pale from whatever was going on with her health. 

"Mama!" Gracie cried out tearfully. 

She rushes to Kunzite with tears streaming down her face. 

"Gracie, my little girl, I need you to do something for me." Kunzite said hoarsely. 

The young girl nodded to what Kunzite is going to say to her. 

"If your father ever remarries, remember to have courage and be kind." Kunzite said. 

Gracie nods once more and starts to cry uncontrollably. 

The young girl knew that the promise she made for Kunzite.

A few months later, Kunzite had passed on from whatever her health was going up against whatever was going on. 

Both Gracie and Doctor Strange invited close friends and family of them to Kunzite's funeral to see Kunzite on last time. 

Gracie sniffs as tears stream down her redden face with a sadden look on her face. 

She missed Kunzite dearly. 

A man with black skin and in a palace guard uniform stood next to Doctor Strange with a distraught look on his face. 

His name is Cavin and a close friend to Gracie, even before he became part of the palace guards to be at his brother's side. 

Cavin glanced at Gracie, who still had the sadden look on her face. 

He walks up to her and kneels right next to her. 

"Gracie..." Cavin started to say softly. 

Gracie looked at him with tear-filled eyes and a sadful look. 

"Your mother was a really good friend to me. I promise whatever happens that I will be there to help you no matter what." Cavin said softly. 

"Thank you, Cavin." Gracie said with a thankful look on her face. 

Both her and the man hug sincerely. 

Unknowingly in 6 years that Gracie was going to meet her future stepmother and stepsisters.
