Chapter 2: Meeting Thor

Gracie was cleaning the inside of the chimney to Lady Tremaine's request.

She wore a tan dress that has a brown and green waistline, brown and green stripes on both the right and left sides, and tan in the middle and her feet were bare.

(Author's Note: This is what the dress Gracie will be wearing as a servant looks like. Just imagine turquoise glasses with the dress.)

Poor Gracie had done a whole lot of chores Lady Tremaine, Anastasia. and Drizella wanted her to do after the passing of Doctor Strange.

In the dining room, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia. and Drizella were eating breakfast Black Widow and Gracie had made for them.

All Gracie got was bread and water, besides eating some fruits and veggies, making Black Widow worried for the young woman's health.

Gracie, now covered in ash and soot that covered her from her head to her toes, walks into the dining room with a broom and rag in her hands and a tired look on her face from cleaning the inside of the chimney.

Her short brown hair and dress were also kind of messy from cleaning the chimney since Lady Tremaine wanted the chimney cleaned immediately.

Anastasia and Drizella looked over at Gracie and almost spat out the food from their mouths because of Gracie's sudden appearance from cleaning the chimney.

"Mother, look at Gracie. She's all cindery. Don't get any cinders in our breakfast. Oh! I've got an idea!! She should be called Cindermouse!" Anastasia declared smiling meanly at the mean nickname she gave Gracie.

Black Widow entered the dining room with a pitcher of juice and saw Gracie covered in ash and soot from the chimney.

'Poor girl. The poor dear must be disgusted being covered in ash and soot from cleaning the chimney all the breakfast hour." Black Widow thought genuine sincereness, pouring juice in three glasses for Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, and Drizella.

"I can't believe she got all dirty just from the chimney. Ah! Dirty Gracie!!" Drizella cried out meanly at another mean nickname for Gracie.

Gracie looked down in embarrassment and shame.

Never in her life had she been called such cruel and mean names.

Anastasia gasped in more cruel delight.

"What about CinderGracie?" Anastasia asked curiously about the third mean nickname for poor Gracie, who felt disgusted at the mean nicknames given to her.

Lady Tremaine smirked evilly.

"Too clever, my dear daughters." Lady Tremaine said with satisfaction in her tone of voice at the third mean nickname for Gracie.

She looks menacingly and threateningly at Gracie, who now looks terrified.

"Now, you and Natasha go out into the woods to collect some good flowers and go into town to run some errands. Oh, before you and her go into the woods and into town, clean up a little since you look like a dirty, unkept scarecrow." Lady Tremaine said very snappy and unamused in the tone of her voice to poor tired Gracie.

Gracie nodded immediately and rushes off to the kitchen.

Black Widow finished filling up Drizella's cup with juice and follows right behind Gracie into the kitchen before she could get the same look Lady Tremaine gave Gracie.

The red-haired woman shuts the kitchen door behind her so Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, and Drizella couldn't hear their conversation.

Gracie was washing her face with another rag at the kitchen sink to get the ash and soot from her face after cleaning the chimney.

"Gracie..." Black Widow spoke out slowly.

"Hmm?" Gracie hummed in question, still cleaning the ash and soot from her face.

"I know that you know that you don't like how those three women are treating you after your father passed away." Black Widow said seriously.

Gracie gasps for air after finally getting the ash and soot off of her face.

She spits out any water that might have gotten into her mouth.

"I know, but I promised my mom that I would have courage and be kind to Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, and Drizella ever since Dad remarried." Gracie stated not wanting to break her promise she made to Kunzite.

Gracie then dries her face off and turns to Black Widow with a smile on her face.

Black Widow smiled as well.

Both of them raced out of the kitchen to the stables.

Gracie hops onto her black and white horse.

Black Widow hopped onto her brown and tan-ish horse.

The two women rode their horses out into the woods.

Jumping over logs and doing random tricks while riding their horses, Gracie had ridden her horse a bit too far ahead of Black Widow.

"Gracie, wait up for me!" Black Widow shouted after the brunette.

But Gracie didn't hear the older woman behind her.

After coming across a clearing she and Black Widow never went to before, a moose had stopped right in front of Gracie and her horse, making the horse stop in its tracks.

(Author's Note: To refresh some memories, here is what the moose looks like.)

The moose made a deep bellow sound as it and Gracie stared at each other for a few moments.

Off in the distance, distant male voices were heard with horns.

"Go on, friend, before you get caught." Gracie whispered gently to the moose.

As if to understand her, the moose listened and ran off in the direction it was going.

Just to be sure the moose was at a safe distance, Gracie followed the moose on her horse as fast as she could at the same speed as the moose.

At the same time, a young man riding on a light brown horse beside the forest.

He has long blonde hair, blue eyes, and wore a white tank top shirt with a strange picture on it, a sleeveless brown leather jacket, blue jeans held up with a belt, and high-top boots.

His name is Thor, God of Thuner.

The blonde then heard the sound of Gracie's voice.

"Easy! Easy! Easy, girl! Come on, girl, slow down!" Gracie said trying to calm her horse down after the moose went farther ahead of her.

Thor rode his horse in the direction of Gracie.

"Miss! Miss! Are you alright? Hold on!" Thor said.

He rides his horse to follow her, soon riding beside her.

"Yeah, I'm alright, thank you. That's fine." Gracie said gently.

Thor took a gentle hold on Gracie's arm, making her horse finally slow down.

"Are you alright?" Thor asked after what had happened.

"I'm alright, but you almost frightened the life out of him." Gracie stated seriously for her answer to the blonde-haired man.

Thor looked at her in confusion.

"Who?" Thor asked confused on who Gracie was talking about.

"The stag." Gracie said pointing in the direction the moose went into.

Thor looked in the direction Gracie pointed at and glanced at the brunette with wonder in his eyes, wondering about her being out in the woods by herself.

He notices that Gracie had this ravishing presence about her.

"What has he done to you that you should chase him about?" Gracie asked in questionable disbelief to an astonished Thor.

"I must confess that I've never met him before. Is he a friend of yours?" Thor asked very curiously to Gracie, who looked at him.

"An almost friend. I looked into his eyes and he looked into mine. It was like he still had to live his life before passing on. That's all I thought of." Gracie said seriously.

Gracie looked at Thor with wonder in her eyes.

As if to be blown away, Thor seemed to be blown away by Gracie's presence.

"Um, miss, what do they call you?" Thor asked wanting to know Gracie a bit better.

"Never mind what they call me." Gracie said smiling softly, shaking her head in disappointment as if not ready to give herself away like that.

"Are you alone in these woods?" Thor asked questionably.

Gracie smiled brightly.

"I am with my friend, but I went ahead of her, Mister, um...What do they call you?" Gracie said not knowing Thor's name.

"You don't know who I am?" Thor asked chuckling in disbelief.

Gracie stared at him in curiosity.

"They, um, call me Thor." Thor replied a little hesitantly.

"What do you do and where do you live, Mister Thor?" Gracie asked looking at his clothes, which were better than the clothes she was wearing at that point.

Thor chuckled in amusement at the curious woman's questions.

"I am a protector and I live at the palace." Thor answered with a charm in his smile.

"Oh, so you know the prince and his parents?" Gracie asked in wonder.

"Well, I suppose you can say that. Plus, I guess you could say that the prince and I literally look alike, basically like twins." Thor said stating the fact he was actually the prince Gracie was talking about and looking at.

Thor looks at the brunette with a charming smile.

"So, where do you live, miss? Who lives with you?" Thor asked curiously.

Gracie grimaced at the question Thor asked.

"In a simple house with my stepmother and stepsisters. They treat me more as a servant for them and their every bidding than a loving family member." Gracie said sadly.

Thor instantly regretted asked such stupid questions like that.

He never indented to make this beautiful woman before him to feel uncomfortable about the questions he asked her.

"Oh, I'm really sorry to hear that, miss." Thor said apologetically.

Gracie smiled and nodded softly in understanding, knowing he didn't mean it.

"Gracie! Gracie, where are you?!" Black Widow called out worriedly.

Bother Gracie and Thor look in the direction Black Widow was calling from

"That must be your friend you went ahead of." Thor said guessingly.

The 21 year old brunette smiled happily and nodded to Thor's guess.

She turns to look back at Thor.

"You promise not to hurt the moose, right?" Gracie asked worried for the moose.

"Well, you see, we have to hunt it. It's how it's done." Thor explained seriously.

"Just because it's how it's done doesn't mean should be done that way." Gracie said seriously back to the blonde-haired man.

"Correct." Thor said smiling brightly at her.

"Then you'll leave him alone, won't you?" Gracie asked in a pleading tone.

"I will." Thor said nodding firmly without hesitation.

"Thank you, Mister Thor." Gracie said with a gracious smile on her face.

Suddenly, a voice called out behind Thor with hoofbeats of a horse.

A man with black skin in a palace guard uniform, almost looking like Cavin, rode up to the two on his black and brown horse.

His name is Captain, part of the place guards.

"Ah, there you are, Your High-" Captain spoke out.

"It's Thor! Thor! Thor! I'm Thor. I'm on my way." Thor interrupted Captain, not wanting to have Gracie know he is actually the prince.

Captain nodded understandable to Thor's situation.

"Well, we better get a move on, Mr. Thor." Captain said

"On my way." Thor said nodding to him.

Thor looks at Gracie and smiles at her.

"I hope to see you again, miss." Thor said handing Gracie his baby blue royal cloak.

Gracie smiled happily and gave a nod for a "Thank you".

Thor gave her a thumbs up and rode off with Captain.

Black Widow then rode up on her horse next to Gracie just as Thor and Captain rode off on their horses after the moose.

"Gracie, please don't go ahead of me like that. It worries and scares me if you get hurt or even worse, getting kidnapped." Black Widow said seriously.

Gracie didn't seem to hear what Black Widow had said to her.

She wanted to know Thor more after meeting him.

"Gracie, are you even listening to me?" Black Widow asked.

The brunette looks at Black Widow surprised.

"What? Oh, sorry, it's just that, um, I met someone." Gracie said looking back at Thor's retreating figure off in the distance.

"A new friend, besides me, of course." Black Widow said smiling with her voice going into a joking tone to Gracie.

Gracie smiled brightly.

"Right, a new friend." Gracie said excitedly.

Both Gracie and Black Widow rode their horses into town.

After getting into town, Gracie wore the baby blue royal cloak as she looked around for something to give Thor for giving her the baby blue royal cloak as a nice gesture while Black Widow was collecting fruits, vegetables, and whatever else for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the next couple months.

Gracie was snacking on some bread she took from the kitchen before leaving the house with Black Widow to go into the woods and into town.

Suddenly, she heard an elderly woman's voice among the crowd.

"Spare any coins? Spare some bread, too?" An elderly woman asked townspeople passing by her without a care in the world to even notice her.

The elderly woman wore light pink rags and had dirt on her black skin.

Gracie sighed sadly and walked up to the elderly woman.

She handed the elderly woman the bread she was snacking on.

"Here you go." Gracie said smiling softly.

The elderly woman looks at Gracie, then the bread, and back at the brunette.

"Are you sure, Miss?" The elderly woman asked curiously.

Gracie smiled softly still and nodded to the elderly woman.

"Please, I insist, ma'am." Gracie said generously.

"Thank you, Miss." The elderly woman said smiling happily.

The elderly woman smiled and graciously took the bread from Gracie.

Gracie smiled back.

Suddenly, a trumpet blasted through the noise of the crowd in the town square.

Everyone gathered in the town square to hear what the news was.

Gracie caught up with Black Widow, who had a basket full of items as they both had curious looks on their faces on what the news was going to be about.

"Hear ye! Hear ye! Quiet! Know on this day, two weeks hence, there shall be held at the palace a Royal Ball. At said ball, in accordance with ancient custom, the prince shall choose a bride. Furthermore, at the behest of the prince, it is hereby declared that every maiden in the kingdom, be she noble or commoner, is invited to attend. Such as the command of our most noble king and queen." The town crier announced sophisticatedly.

Every woman cheered at the news as Gracie and Black Widow looked at each other with surprised and knowing looks.

They knew that Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, and Drizella would want to hear the news as well about the prince choose a maiden for his bride.

"Do you think Lady Tremaine would let us go to the royal ball to see if the prince will choose either one of us as well?" Gracie asked curiously wanting to see what the prince would actually look like in front of her.

"I hope to your father and mother that she would let you and I go to the royal ball to see the prince. Plus, fingers crossed that he chooses you to be his bride." Black Widow said smirking her all-knowing smirk to Gracie.

Gracie laughed bashfully and blushed a crimson red.

She hoped that Black Widow would be right after all.

Hoping that the prince would choose her to be his bride.

The two women rode their horses back to the house, not wanting to have Lady Tremaine scold their ears off with her complaining.
