Mattheo closed his locker as he sighed. ''So nothing?'' Enzo asked confused as he stared at his friend. ''No, I woke up and she was gone'' Mattheo said softly. He had woken up Friday morning with no Avalyn besides him and considering it was his birthday he would have enjoyed spending the morning with his girlfriend. ''And you can't find her?'' Theo asked softly, Mattheo just shook his head. ''And I have no fucking way of contacting her'' He spoke harshly.

''You should link her as well'' Enzo offered as he watched his friend stress over the whereabouts of his girl. ''Yeah, it will be fun to have her join our link'' Theo tried to cheer him up. ''Yeah,'' Mattheo mumbled as he leaned back against the lockers. ''Kinda hoped this birthday to be different since I have Avalyn now'' Theo and Enzo shared a look. ''Want us to go find her?'' They offered, hoping to make this birthday just a little bit better.

''No, just let her be, I guess'' He mumbled, Theo and Enzo looked up at movement down the hall, frowning as they watched a cloud of balloons move their way. ''Found her'' Enzo said with a small laugh. Mattheo frowned as he looked down the hall as well, a small smile painting itself on his lips as he watched Avalyn skip up to him at a fast pace.

She wrapped her arms around his neck the moment he was within reach, pulling him in for a tight hug. ''Happy birthday!'' She said happily as she pulled away and placed her lips against his in a short peck. ''Are you feeling like a birthday boy yet?'' She asked as Mattheo send her a mischievous grin, before shaking his head. ''No, I'm going to need another kiss for that'' Avalyn laughed softly as she leaned closer again, kissing him gently.

She slowly pulled away. ''Yes?'' She asked, Mattheo shook his head once more and pulled her in again, kissing her softly. Theo made soft gagging noises as Enzo's lips pulled up in disgust. ''Is there even a moment you two are not all over each other.'' Mattheo pulled away and turned towards his friends. He took hold of Avalyn's hand and turned her around in his arms, making her face his friends. ''If you had a girlfriend who looked like this would you not be all over her?'' Theo and Enzo shook their head as small laughter filled the air.

''Okay!'' Avalyn said as she stepped out of Mattheo's arms. ''Here you go!'' She said as she handed him the balloons, Mattheo send her a sheepish grin as he shared a look with his friends, who just laughed at him. ''Thanks'' He said with a hint of sarcasm. Avalyn let out a soft giggle at the words. ''you can let them go'' She said and she watched relief wash over Mattheo's features as he let go of the balloons. ''Thank god'' He mumbled.

''I got you a little something'' She whispered as she raised the hand which held his present. A small box appears. ''You got me a present?'' Mattheo asked softly, touched by the fact that Avalyn even got him something. ''Of course'' She said as she pushed it closer, urging him to open it.

Mattheo opened the wrapping paper, in it was a small jewellery box which he opened as well. His eyes widened at the sight of a bracelet. It was shaped like a snake, its eyes laid in with small green crystals, matching the one hanging from Avalyn's neck. ''I love it'' Mattheo whispered as he pulled Avalyn's head closer and placed his lips against it.

''Thank you'' He said as he watched her take the bracelet and put it around his wrist. ''That is actually very nice'' Theo said as he looked down at it. ''Ava, get one of those for me as well'' Theo said as he turned to her. ''Ask your own girlfriend for one'' She answered, Theo shook his head. ''You still haven't found me one'' He said as he crossed his arms. ''I am working on it. Don't worry'' Avalyn said with a soft smile before she turned towards Mattheo.

''You and me, astronomy tower tonight?'' Avalyn asked her boyfriend, who frowned at her. ''What for?'' He asked. ''To celebrate your birthday! Thought we could make it a date'' Avalyn said as she turned her gaze towards the other two Slytherins, urging them to support the idea as Mattheo could not suspect a party from happening.

''You should!'' Enzo encouraged as he placed a hand on Mattheo's shoulder. ''Yeah! spend some time with your girl'' Theo added. Mattheo eyed the three suspiciously. ''What is going on?'' He asked, Avalyn frowned as she shook her head. ''Nothing, I want to spend time with you'' Avalyn said with a slight shrug.

''Fine, we can'' Mattheo said as he wrapped an arm around Avalyn's shoulder and pulled her with him to the great hall. ''Great, I heard the stars are going to be beautiful tonight'' Avalyn mumbled out. Mattheo smiled to himself and he found himself growing excited about having an actual date with Avalyn.

The four sat down at the Slytherin table, Avalyn reached for a pancake as Mattheo already placed the syrup in front of her. ''Thanks, babe'' Avalyn said as she placed her thumb against her lips and sucked off pancake residue. The three Slytherins stared at her with wide eyes. ''I don't think I have ever heard you call him something besides Mattheo or Matt'' Enzo said. Avalyn turned to him and frowned at the surprised faces that were looking at her.

''What?'' Avalyn said with a laugh. ''I want you to call me that more often'' Mattheo said as a smile appeared on his lips. ''Fine, I will'' Avalyn said as she poured some syrup over her pancakes. Mattheo smiled and placed his hand on her thigh, squeezing it gently as he turned towards his own food. Avalyn hummed once she took a bite of her pancake. ''So good'' She said as she cut off a piece and moved it to Mattheo. ''Try it'' She said as she watched him take a bite.

Mattheo smiled at her as he nodded. ''It's good'' He said as he licked his lips, clearing them of any leftover syrup. Truth was, he hated the sweet taste of pancakes, but Avalyn's love for them made up for it and he would gladly eat pancakes for breakfast for the rest of his life if it meant Avalyn would smile, the way she did now, every day.

''Do you guys want to go to Hogsmeade today?'' Avalyn asked as the three boys once again widened their eyes. ''Avalyn Levisay, are you suggesting we skip class?'' Theo gasped dramatically, and Avalyn sighed. ''Just because it's Mattheo's birthday'' She said as she placed her hand over the one he had placed on her thigh. ''If you want. I mean if you would rather go to class-'' ''No'' Mattheo said quickly and with a small smile. ''Let's go out''.

''Oh!'' Avalyn said with a mouth full of pancake. She quickly turned to her bag and took out a small envelope. ''My mom send this'' She said as she handed it to Mattheo. He looked surprised as he took the envelope from her hands. He slowly opened it.

His eyes scanned the page as a gentle smile appeared on his lips. He slowly reached over and placed his hand behind Avalyn's head and pulled her towards him, placing his lips on hers. She tasted like syrup and It was the most delicious taste that had ever been present on his lips.

Avalyn stared at him with big eyes, curious as to what he had read. ''What did it say?'' she asked as she reached to take the letter from Mattheo's hands, but he pulled it away. ''Thats for me to know'' He said as he folded it up and placed it in his jacket pocket.

Avalyn pouted. ''God, you're no fun'' She said once she realized Mattheo was not gonna give in to her pleading. ''Ready to go?'' She asked the boys, who seemed about done with their breakfast. ''Yeah, let's go''' Enzo said as he stood up. The rest followed, deciding to go back to their dorms to change out of their uniform before leaving the castle.

''Where do you want to go?'' Mattheo asked Avalyn, who just shrugged, stuffed one hand in her pocket as the other one grabbed Mattheo's arm, who had both his hands in his pockets. ''I'm just here to look pretty next to you'' Avalyn said with a bright smile. ''Oh, Arm candy. Hot'' Mattheo said as he leaned over and placed his lips against her cheek. In front of them, Enzo and Theo turned to look at them. ''Walk faster!'' Theo called out, his breath leaving in a small cloud.

''I have small legs!'' Avalyn called back, but she sped up her pace anyway. The two Slytherins turned into a small jewellery store, holding the door open for Avalyn and Mattheo. Avalyn hummed at the warmth she found in the store. Mattheo stopped at one of the showcases as Avalyn kept on walking. She looked around, admiring the many beautiful necklaces and rings.

''Avalyn?'' Enzo called out, Avalyn looked up and watched him nod her over. She walked up to him, looking down at what he was looking at. ''Which one do you like most?'' Avalyn looked at the three necklaces as she puffed out her cheeks in thought. ''They are all pretty'' She said.

Enzo smiled as he nodded. ''I can tell, which one do you think would make a girl happiest'' Avalyn gasped softly. ''Oh, Enzo do you have a new lady friend?'' She asked with a taunting smile. Enzo hushed her as he checked to see if his friends heard. ''Please?'' He asked softly.

Avalyn sighed as she turned towards the options again. ''I mean, Enzo you know her best'' Avalyn said softly, not understanding why she had to choose as she was probably very different from the girl he had found. Lorenzo sends her a desperate glance, making her sigh, before nodding softly. ''What's your favourite colour?'' Avalyn asked the boy. ''Black'' He said with a shrug as if it was basic information.

''Then gift her the necklace with the black stone, I love wearing Mattheo's colour,'' Avalyn said with a smile, her hand touching the necklace without much thought. Enzo smiled as well as he nodded, waving over the man who owned the store. Avalyn smiled as she walked back over to Mattheo, who was still looking down at some rings.

''Do you wear rings?'' He asked his girlfriend once he sensed her presence. Avalyn shrugged. ''Not right now'' She said as she showed her hands. Mattheo smiled, grabbing her hands with his own, which did have rings. His left hand held a ring with the first letter of his last name engraved in the family weapon. His right one had one chain around his pointy finger and a small simple band around his pinky. All silver, which stood beautifully against his slightly tanned skin.

''Here'' Mattheo said as he pushed a ring over her ring finger. Avalyn hummed as she looked at it. ''Not really my taste'' She said as she pulled it off her finger again. She placed it back. ''would you ever wear a ring?'' He asked. Avalyn sighed as she turned to Mattheo. ''Maybe, I don't know'' She said softly. ''Now stop being weird about this'' She said with a chuckle as she grabbed his hand and pulled him with her.

Enzo walked out with a small bag, stuffing it in his jacket pocket. Avalyn pulled Mattheo into a clothing store, walking up to a mannequin that held a very beautiful red dress. It looked to be made of silk, dropping halfway to the mannequin's thighs. two small strings, tied together in a ribbon just above the chest and long sleeves made of lace, falling over the hands.

''Thats so beautiful!'' Avalyn said with a small gasp, reaching over to let her fingers run over the lace. The boys all smiled at her as they had barely gotten to see this girlier side of Avalyn. The side that loved pretty dresses and jewellery. Avalyn hummed as she turned the price tag, her eyes widening as a gasp left her lips. ''What in the actual fuck, is that legal!'' Avalyn whisper yelled.

No one should have the right to ask that much for a dress, no matter how pretty it looked. Mattheo chuckled as he pushed her further into the store. ''Sadly it is'' He said as he walked over to the t-shirts. Avalyn frowned as she watched Mattheo pick up a t-shirt and hang it over his shoulder so he could take Avalyn's hand again.

''You already have that one'' Avalyn mumbled as she pointed at the piece of clothing. ''Yeah, someone keeps sneaking into my room to steal it though'' Mattheo turned to send Avalyn a side-eye. ''Wears it to bed every night'' He continued. ''Got it'' Avalyn said with a laugh. ''So now I'll have two?'' Avalyn said Mattheo chuckled as he shook his head. ''Don't even think about it'' He warned.

The pair walked up to the register. Mattheo paid for the t-shirt before the pair walked out of the store. The four friends spend the entire afternoon at Hogsmaede, browsing through stores and grabbing lunch at the three broomsticks, as the sun started to set they decided to head back.

Avalyn stopped walking for a short moment, sinking to the floor and grabbing a hand full of snow before chucking it in Mattheo's direction. A small gasp left her lips when she accidentally hit the back of his head. ''Shit, Matt. I swear I did not mean to actually hit you'' Avalyn as she watched him slowly turn around. ''I promise'' She whispered as she watched him kneel down to grab a hand full of snow as well. ''Wait, I am just fragile!'' Avalyn yelled out before she felt the snowball hit her in the face.

A small yelp left her lips as she leaned back, too far for her feet to remain on the floor as she slipped and fell down. ''Oh crap'' Mattheo laughed softly as he walked up to her to check if she was okay. ''That was a good one'' Avalyn groaned out as she rubbed her back. ''Merlin, you would think snow would break your fall'' She mumbled as she reached up and held out her hand so Mattheo could help her up.

Avalyn smiled once he took her hand, pulling at it to send Mattheo to the floor as well. Avalyn laughed loudly as Mattheo landed next to her. She quickly crawled on top of him, taking a hand full of snow and placing it against the sides of his neck. ''Ava!'' Mattheo yelled at the sudden cold feeling, his shoulders pulling towards his head to try and get rid of it.

''Oh, well deserved!'' Avalyn taunted, Mattheo took hold of her hips, pushing forward to send Avalyn to the floor. ''No!'' Avalyn yelled as she felt her back hit the snow. Avalyn tried fighting back, but Mattheo took hold of her hands. ''You started this!'' Mattheo exclaimed as Avalyn yelled mixed with loud laughter. Mattheo wrapped one hand around her two wrists, he took a hand full of snow. ''Oh baby, you are going to hate this'' Mattheo laughed as he reached down and pushed his hand under her t-shirt, rubbing the snow along her stomach.

''No!'' Avalyn yelled out as she kicked her legs to try and get him off, but to no avail. ''Should we help her?'' Enzo asked as he stuffed his hands in his pockets, watching the pair. ''I don't know'' Theo answered. ''She does seem to struggle as of now''.

''Mattheo!'' Avalyn yelled as he shoved more snow into her shirt. Mattheo just laughed, keeping a close eye on her facial expressions to make sure she was still having fun. ''Who? Sorry, I can't hear you'' Mattheo said and just as he was about to grab more snow a full load of snow landed on him, getting into his shirt. Mattheo gasped as his body tensed. ''Fuck!'' He yelled. Turning and staring at Enzo who wiped the snow off his hands with soft laughter.

Avalyn laughed as she finally wiggled free, crawling on top of Mattheo once more, trying to retain his hands, but not being strong enough. Two other hands took hold of Mattheo's, holding them in place. ''You are a fucking traitor Nott'' Mattheo said as he watched Avalyn gasp in victory. She took two hands of snow, leaning over him and stuffing it in the back of his t-shirt.

Mattheo hissed as Theodore released his hands, helping Avalyn up as the pair watched Mattheo sit up. Avalyn felt her body shivering at the cold. ''That's what you had coming!'' She yelled as she threw her hands in the air. ''Now don't get too cocky'' Theo said as he stalked closer.

Avalyn dropped her hands as her eyes widened. ''I thought we were building something here'' She said as she moved backwards. ''I would never betray my friend like that'' Theo stated as sprinted forward. Avalyn felt Theo take hold of her, throwing her over his shoulder as he carried her to the side of the road, the snow was still untouched and reached Theo's knee.

Avalyn gasped as she felt Theo drop her into the snow, her body completely disappearing into the pile. ''Oh shit!'' Theo said with a loud laugh, Avalyn laughed as well, unable to get up as her feet were the only thing sticking out of the snow.

Mattheo and Enzo appeared in her sight of view as well, the pair laughing at the ridiculous sight. Mattheo reached over and low-fived Theo. ''Mean'' Avalyn mumbled as she tried getting up. ''Please help'' She mumbled once she realized she could not get up on her own.

''I kinda like the way you look right now'' Mattheo mumbled, watching as Avalyn smiled before her teeth started chattering. Mattheo quickly reached over and pulled her out of the snow. ''Cold'' Avalyn stuttered out as she wrapped herself into her arms, but her t-shirt and jacket were anything but dry.

''I would give you my jacket, but it's soaked'' Mattheo mumbled, watching as Enzo took off his jacket and gave it to her. ''Let's get back to the school so you two can warm up'' Theo said as he rubbed Avalyn's arms. Enzo smiled as the four walked back to the castle.

''I need to get to my room to change'' Mattheo said and the three people around him felt their eyes widen. People were still setting up the party, they could not let him get to the Slytherin rooms.

Theo pushed Avalyn forward, nodding towards Mattheo as if to tell her to fix it. ''Wait!'' Avalyn yelled, Mattheo turned around his eyebrows raised in surprise at the sudden loudness of her voice. ''Uhm, I-'' She turned to the other two, unable to come up with anything. ''Let's take a shower together!'' She yelled out, multiple students around them turning at the suggestion. Mattheo stared as 2 other Ravenclaw guys stopped and seemed to want to accept the invitation. ''Don't even think about it'' Mattheo warned the two boys, walking up to Avalyn and taking hold of her hand. They scurried off.

''Warm up? We can go to the astronomy tower after'' She suggested softly this time. Mattheo smiled at her as he nodded. ''I need fresh clothes'' He said. Avalyn shrugged. ''There are some in my room'' Mattheo frowned, as they usually hung out in his room. ''Why are you being weird?'' He asked, Avalyn shrugged.

''Just really want to shower and the Ravenclaw wing is closer'' She said, Mattheo sighed as he nodded. ''Alright,'' He said, allowing Avalyn to pull him towards the shower. Avalyn walked into her room, taking a handful of clothes and toiletries, before making her way to the Ravenclaw showers.

She undressed, hanging the wet clothes to dry, before stepping into one of the shower stalls, turning on the hot water. She stepped under it, humming softly as she felt her body warm up again.

Mattheo appeared behind her, his body towering over her as he stepped under the water as well. Avalyn wrapped her arms around him, placing a kiss against his chest, before looking up. ''Are you enjoying your birthday?'' she asked softly. Mattheo smiled and nodded. ''Best birthday ever'' He admitted as he leaned down and placed his lips against hers. Moving them slowly, making Avalyn smile softly.

She pulled away, Mattheo groaning out softly. ''Save it for tonight'' Avalyn whispered as she rubbed her nose along his neck, placing a soft peck before stepping back. She reached for her shampoo bottle, putting a bit of the product in her hand, before massaging it into her scalp.

Mattheo was quick to replace her hands with his, he rubbed her skull gently placing a soft kiss on her shoulder as he watched her body completely relax into him. ''Rinse'' He mumbled as he watched her rinse the shampoo out of her hair.

Mattheo took that moment to allow his eyes to travel over her body, god she looked amazing. A perfect sight. Avalyn cleared her throat as she caught him staring. Mattheo smiled as he looked down. ''Conditioner'' Avalyn whispered as she pointed at the second bottle, Mattheo reached over and picked it up, putting the product in his hand as he placed his hands back on her head.

''I only look to admire'' He whispered, watching as Avalyn dropped her head back to look at him. ''And you are allowed to'' She replied as she placed her hands on his chest. ''Rinse'' Mattheo whispered as he smiled at her words. She was right. He was allowed to, only him. It felt like a fucking blessing.

''Okay,'' She whispered as she looked back at Mattheo. ''I am gonna head back already, get changed. You can finish washing up'' Avalyn said as she stepped from under the water. Mattheo was left in utter disbelief ''You are being weird'' Mattheo stated as he watched her leave, she slowly turned. ''I am not! I want to look good for you, so it's gonna take a bit more time'' She said as she wrapped herself in a towel. ''You always look good to me'' Avalyn shrugged. ''Still gonna put on make-up and pick out a pretty dress'' She said as she left the bathroom.

She slowly walked back to her room, opened the door and walked up to her desk. A low whistle filled the room, making her yelp out and turn around. Theo lay on her bed, looking at her as laughter filled the room.

''What are you doing!'' She exclaimed, Theo pushed himself up to he was sitting on the edge of the bed. ''You wearing anything under that?'' He asked as he stood up, his hands behind his back. ''Yes, the fucking embarrassment of you scaring me while in a towel'' She hissed as she pulled at the bottom of the towel, hoping it would make her feel more covered. ''Theo what do you want?'' Avalyn said as Theo filled the room with laughter. ''I forgot to give you this'' He said as he pulled a small bag from behind his back.

Avalyn slowly reached over, looking inside of it as her eyes widened. ''No way'' She gasped as she pulled the gorgeous red dress out of the bag. ''No, Theo thats way too expensive!'' She called out as she tried to push it back into his hands, but he raised his arms as a gasp left his lips.

''Are you crazy! you touched it, it's contaminated now!'' Avalyn fought back her smile as she sputtered out a laugh. ''No but for real,'' Theo said as he lowered his arms again.

''It will look beautiful on you. I want you to have it'' Avalyn stared at Theo with a soft smile. ''Really?'' Theo nodded as he watched her smile grow, god he would give her anything to see that smile more often. ''What can I do to repay you?'' Avalyn asked softly, Theo shook his head as he took a small step back. ''Find me that promised girlfriend'' Avalyn laughed once more as she nodded. ''will do'' She whispered.

''I'm gonna head back to the Slytherin common room, everything is ready'' Theo said as he watched her turn to look at the time. Avalyn nodded. ''Great, give us half an hour?'' She asked and Theo agreed before he left the room.

Avalyn quickly pulled the dress over her head and stared at herself in the mirror. The dress looked beautiful on her and she loved the way it hugged her curves. She smiled to herself as she straightened it out.

She turned towards her small desk and put on some make-up before blowdrying her hair. Behind her, the door opened as a soft gasp filled the room. ''Holy shit, Ava'' Mattheo gasped out as he quickly walked up to her, taking hold of her hand and turning her his way.

''It looks beautiful on you'' Mattheo exclaimed as he admired her in the red dress, red was not his favourite colour, Mattheo could almost say he despised it because of a certain house that had claimed it, but the way it looked on Avalyn could make him change his mind in an instant. The fiery red gave her hair a soft orange hue and her eyes looked bigger than usual.

''God, bless Theo for getting you it'' Mattheo mumbled. Avalyn gasped. ''You knew he was buying it for me?'' Mattheo laughed and nodded. ''Funny enough he called it his present for me. He did not lie'' Mattheo spoke lowly as he allowed his eyes to travel over her figure.

''Fuck'' Mattheo whispered as he allowed his hands to travel from her ribs to her hips, pushing them back to place them on her ass. Avalyn gasped as he pulled her closer, placing his lips on hers as he squeezed his hands together, Avalyn hummed in surprise as she pulled away, pulling his hands away from her ass as she laughed. ''Alright, get dressed'' She said as she straightened out the dress.

Mattheo frowned. ''I think you misunderstand, I was hoping to get undressed. With you'' Avalyn laughed. ''No, we are going on a date, remember?'' Mattheo's eyes still travelled over her figure, licking his lips and gently biting down on it. ''Mattheo?'' Mattheo snapped out of his thoughts.

''Yeah?'' He asked. ''Get dressed'' Avalyn repeated, as she reached for a lipstick, slightly darker than the dress, she traced it over her lips. Mattheo got dressed behind her. ''I just need something from your room'' Avalyn said as the pair walked out. ''What do you need?'' Mattheo asked as he grabbed her hand, he looked around the hallways, the common room. It was quiet for a Friday night, usually, there would be a whole lot more people stumbling around.

''It's so quiet'' Mattheo mumbled confused. Avalyn contained her smile as she pulled him with her. ''Come on'' Avalyn said as the pair stopped in front of the Slytherin door. Avalyn cleared her throat as she knocked on the door. Mattheo turned to her with furrowed brows.

''Why are you knocking, Avalyn you know the password just walk in'' He said as he pushed open the door. He was met with darkness, a split second before the lights jumped on and everyone present in the common room jumped up. ''Surprise!'' Mattheo stumbled back at the scare.

Avalyn placed her hand on his lower back, keeping him from falling backwards. She giggled. ''Surprise!'' She said as well. Mattheo turned around with wide eyes. ''You did this?'' He asked, Avalyn shrugged. ''With the help of two friends,'' She said as she pointed towards Theo and Enzo.

Mattheo smiled as he walked up to his friends, embracing Theo as a thank you. ''Happy birthday'' Theo congratulated. ''Happy birthday'' Enzo spoke as he accepted Mattheo's embrace as well. ''This is....'' he looked around the room, at all the familiar faces. ''Amazing'' He whispered as he was surprised that so many people were there to celebrate his birthday. He had thought most people would despise him or be too scared to do so.

''Avalyn's idea'' Theo said as he pointed at the girl in the red dress. She smiled as she watched Mattheo walk up to her and pick her up in an embrace. ''Thank you'' He said happily, Avalyn nodded at the words. Music started playing as the room darkened again, only being lit by soft lights around the room.

''Pretty dress'' Enzo complimented Avalyn as the couple walked back to their friends. ''Thank you, apparently me wearing it is a present for Mattheo'' She said as she felt Mattheo place his hands on her hip to pull her closer. ''Mattheo!'' The four turned towards Draco, who was waving his cousin over.

Mattheo started walking, taking Avalyn with him when she stopped. ''Wait, I need to take Theo somewhere, but I'll join you in a minute'' Avalyn said as she walked up to Theo, who had widened eyes as he watched her. ''What?'' He asked softly.

''Come on pretty boy'' Avalyn said as she took his hand and pulled him with her. She made her way to the liquor table, smiling once she spotted Sage looking through all the drink options. ''Sage!'' Avalyn called out, releasing Theo's hand and walking over to the blonde. She turned and smiled as she opened her arms. ''Avalyn! I cannot get over how cute you and Mattheo are!'' She said excitedly, pulling Avalyn into a hug as Theo just stared with a small frown.

He was surprised Avalyn had friends besides the three of them. ''Sage, This is Theodore. I found him in the Slytherin house for you!'' Avalyn said as Theo widened his eyes. ''You did what?'' He asked lowly. Sage smiled as she stared at Theo ''I see'' She said, her eyes travelling over the guy's face. He was very handsome. ''Theo! As promised, the pretty blonde girlfriend Santa forgot to bring you!'' Theo felt his cheeks flush at the comment and watched as Avalyn grabbed two drinks. ''you are a menace, Levisay'' Theo commented. Avalyn just send him a flying kiss, before walking off.

Sage laughed as she held out her hand. ''Don't worry, I asked for a tall brunette boyfriend. Seems he was late for me as well'' Theodore visibly relaxed as he smiled and took her hand. ''Lucky you, you got one of the best options'' Sage placed her hand in front of her mouth as she laughed. ''It seems I did'' She said as she turned towards the liquor table again. ''What do you recommend?'' She asked Theo, who stepped closer, helping her look through the options.

Avalyn walked up to her boyfriend, stepped next to him and handed him one of the drinks. ''Thank you'' He said as he placed his hand around her hip again. If Avalyn had thought of being in Mattheo's presence without him touching her she was dead wrong, not in that dress. She looked fucking amazing, the lustful gazes of the Slytherin boys around them proved it.

''Avalyn, nice job on the party!'' Draco said with a smile, his arm around Pansy Parkinson. Avalyn smiled. ''Thank you'' She said. ''And you look beautiful'' Blaise now complimented. Avalyns smile widened. ''Thank you, You look nice yourself'' Mattheo smiled at how Avalyn socialized with people he knew. whom he called friends. He placed a kiss on the side of her head.

Draco eyed them, he had already had a few drinks and without thinking he blurted: ''You play your part well'' Avalyn's head snapped up in surprise and shock. Was he on to her? But Draco was looking at Mattheo, who slowly turned his head his cousin's way. Jaw clenched the grip on Avalyn's hip tightening.

''What part?'' Avalyn said with a breathy laugh. The two boys glared at one another. Draco seemed to give up as he clenched his jaw as well. ''The boyfriend part, seeing as he has never had a girlfriend before'' Draco finally said, tearing his eyes away from Mattheo. Avalyn nodded in realisation as Mattheo relaxed. ''Come on, Avalyn. Some more people want to talk'' Mattheo whispered as he pulled her with him. ''Bye, guys!'' Avalyn said as she followed after him.

Avalyn followed Mattheo to the next group of people, She had never met them but smiled politely. She felt a soft tap on her shoulder. Avalyn slowly turned, smiling once she found Loraine. ''hey!'' She called out as she pulled Loraine into a hug. Mattheo turned as well, smiling at the girl before turning back to his friends.

''You look absolutely amazing, Avalyn'' Loraine said. ''You too, Loraine!'' She said as she allowed her eyes to travel over her outfit. Avalyn stared at her neck, gasping softly when she found a necklace with a black stone in it. Holy shit.

''You okay?'' Loraine asked softly, Avalyn bit her lip to hide her excitement as she nodded. ''Yes, great. Drinking!'' She said awkwardly as she did not know what to do now that she had found Enzo's secret lover. ''Ava!'' Avalyn turned around at the sound, watching as Theo waved her over, Sage standing next to him with a slight smile on her lips. The pair pointed at the beer pong table, making Avalyn nod her head excitedly.

She turned to Mattheo. ''Let's play beer pong!'' She said as she took his hand and pulled him with her. Avalyn and Mattheo took the spot across from Sage and Theo. ''Mattheo, Sage'' Avalyn said as she arranged the cups. Mattheo smiled at the girl and nodded. ''Hey'' He said, Sage smiled. ''Happy birthday!'' She said happily. ''Thank you'' Mattheo said with a small smile, turning to Avalyn who was smiling as well. He loved that girl, with everything he had. He would do fucking everything for her and yet she had no idea of the power she had over him.

No thoughts of the war, no thoughts of any assignment. They just got to exist and it was amazing. ''I know it's your birthday and all, but I'm not gonna go easy on you because of it'' Sage said as she aimed the ping pong ball, throwing it and immediately hitting a cup. Avalyn froze as her eyes widened.

''What!?'' She asked surprised as she took the cup and drank half of what was in it, before handing it to Mattheo who finished it. Avalyn aimed as well, hitting a cup too. Mattheo placed his hands on her shoulder as he cheered. ''Nice job, baby!'' He yelled as he watched Theo point at the cup for Sage to take. ''Ladies first'' Theo said as Sage laughed and drank it.

The game went on until both teams had one cup left. Sage threw and missed, making Theo groan. Mattheo squeezed Avalyn's shoulders, the booze now present and noticeable in his system. ''You got this Ava'' Mattheo whispered. Avalyn nodded as she threw the ball, Mattheo threw his hands in the air in celebration when she hit the cup. ''Yes!'' Avalyn yelled out as she felt Mattheo pick her up. He placed a kiss on her cheek. ''Nice, Ava!'' He called out.

Theo shook his head at the two. ''Next time, Ava'' Sage said as she pointed at the girl who got dragged away by her boyfriend Avalyn pointed back and nodded, before turning towards Mattheo who was dragging her somewhere. ''Where are we going?'' Avalyn asked as Mattheo shrugged. He had wanted to take her somewhere where they could be alone, but as everyone wished to talk to him he had not felt it was possible to spend time with his girlfriend.

but once again, as he had made a plan to get her out of there, he did not get to execute it as he got tapped on the shoulder and dragged into a circle of Slytherins. Avalyn stood next to him, smiling and nodding at the people she had never met before. She leaned over to Mattheo, who dropped slightly to get closer to her so he was able to hear her over the music. ''Do you want another drink?'' She asked, but Mattheo shook his head. ''I'll be back'' Avalyn said as she walked off to the liquor table.

She poured a bit of fire whiskey in a cup, before making her way back. She locked eyes with Mattheo and smiled, just as someone grabbed her arm and turned her around. ''Avalyn!'' Two similar voices said in excitement. ''Fred, George!'' Avalyn said happily as she turned towards the twins with a big smile on her face. ''I'm so glad you two could make it'' She said as she took a small sip from her drink.

''Of course'' Fred said with a small nod, letting his eyes travel over her body. Fred had respect for relationships, but Avalyn looked really good and his house colour on her made it extra impressive. ''Congratulations with Mattheo'' George said, making Avalyn smile and nod. ''Thank you'' she said with a slight bow of her head. The twins laughed softly as Avalyn let out a soft laugh as well. Avalyn felt a hand snake around her waist and she did not have to turn to look who it was. ''Mattheo!'' George said as he forced a smile. ''We were just congratulating Avalyn with you. Happy birthday''

Mattheo nodded ''Thanks'' He said as he slowly turned to Avalyn. ''I didn't know Gryffindors were invited?'' He questioned softly, Avalyn looked at him and shrugged. ''Only to cool ones'' she whispered, Fred pointed at her as he send her a flirty, playful wink. Mattheo rolled his eyes.

Avalyn smiled up at her boyfriend, watching as he glared at Fred, before looking down at her, then at her lips before leaning down and placing his on hers. Avalyn hummed in surprise as she felt him pull her into him. He turned, pushing them back against a wall. Avalyn could hear the twins leave.

Mattheo placed one hand on the wall as the other stayed on her hip. The kiss got rougher, Mattheo's lips pressing into Avalyn's as his body stepped closer, pressing her firmly against the wall. Avalyn felt him slip his tongue past her lips, a soft moan escaping between their tongues and teeth as Mattheo kissed the corner of her lips, her jaw and finally locked onto her neck.

The lipstick she was wearing was smudged everywhere and had decorated Mattheo's lips as well. Avalyn pulled away, pushing Mattheo back as well. Mattheo grabbed her hand and pulled it from his chest as he raised his head again. ''Don't fucking push me away'' He growled and Avalyn could not understand where his slight anger was coming from. ''What?'' She asked softly, confused.

Mattheo let his eyes travel over her face, her lipstick had stained the skin around her lips and yet it made her look ten times hotter. Avalyn stared at his lipstick-stained lips and thought the exact same thing.

''Do you really not know?'' Mattheo breathed, Avalyn frowned as she shrugged. ''Know what?'' Mattheo sighed. ''You are kind, Avalyn. But your kindness can be received as flirty'' Avalyn felt surprised as she shook her head. ''But I wasn't'' Mattheo nodded. ''I know that. They don't''

''So I can either beat them up every time they talk to you or I can make sure everyone here knows who you belong to'' Avalyn gasped softly at the sentence. She had never seen Mattheo be this jealous before, but she now understood why he had a default to violence. ''Option two is better'' She whispered, she watched as Mattheo nodded, before stepping forward and placing his lips on hers once more.

It was a rough kiss and Avalyn felt her breathing become heavy. ''Mattheo, Not here. Not now'' She whimpered out as she buried her hand in his hair. She needed him to stop, but her body did not support her words. ''Why?'' Mattheo whispered into her mouth. ''People can see'' Avalyn mumbled as she felt him trace up her thigh. She looked around, finding a few people glancing their way.

''See if I care'' Mattheo mumbled back, once again firmly kissing her as his hand now brushed over her underwear. Avalyn placed her hand on his and pushed it away from her with a slight moan. ''No'' She breathed out heavily. ''I'm not comfortable with people seeing'' She explained as she watched Mattheo send her a slight glare. The alcohol was probably partly to blame, but Mattheo had never acted this jealous before.

''You've left your mark, My lipstick is all over your lips. They know'' Avalyn said as she looked around the room. Mattheo stared at her lips as he raised his hand towards his own, licking his lips slightly as he pressed his thumb against them and pulled it back, indeed finding his finger slightly stained red.

''Fine, but we're gonna have to wait a few minutes before getting back to the party'' Mattheo whispered. Avalyn frowned as she felt him step closer, she gasped at the feeling of something poking her thigh. ''Mattheo!'' She hissed as she felt him hide his face in her neck to muffle his laughter. Avalyn's face almost turned the same shade as her lipstick as Mattheo stepped back again.

''Mattheo!'' came from behind Mattheo, as he quickly turned Avalyn and him around, his back leaning against the wall as he pulled Avalyn against him, hiding any trace of what was happening in his pants at that moment. ''yeah?'' Mattheo asked softly, Avalyn turned her head slightly and found a Slytherin boy she had never seen before.

''People are asking for you'' He said softly, Mattheo stared at him with slightly furrowed eyebrows. ''Tell them I'm busy, I'll be back later'' It was the boy's turn to frown. ''with what?'' Mattheo looked at him in disbelief, as if the sight of his girlfriend being almost completely pressed against him with her lipstick smeared over both their lips was not enough.

''I'll be back later'' Mattheo repeated as he pulled Avalyn's lips against his once more, Avalyn groaned in surprise as she heard the boy shuffle away. ''Mattheo, Don't be rude, they are here to celebrate you'' Avalyn said as she pulled away again. ''Well with the way they are eyeing you I'd almost think they are here to celebrate you'' Mattheo whispered. Avalyn sighed.

''Then I'll stay with you. I won't go anywhere'' She promised, Mattheo could groan out in excitement at how obedient Avalyn was acting, she was so good at listening to him and doing exactly as he wanted. He loved it. Fuck he worshipped it. He wanted her to make her own choices and do things alone, but he also wanted her to understand that other men could not be trusted.

''Let's get back and get some drinks, yeah?'' Avalyn offered as she took his hand. ''Alright,'' Mattheo said as he followed after her. Avalyn watched as Mattheo went to get them a drink, looking around as she took the drink from his hand. Her eyes fell on 3 familair Gryffindors. ''What the fuck'' She whispered, Mattheo looked down at her with a frown, before following her gaze. His eyes darkened as they locked on Harry.

Avalyn turned to her boyfriend, who was downing his drink quickly. ''Mattheo-'' ''No'' Mattheo said as he threw his empty cup on the floor, before walking up to Harry. He didn't hesitate before hitting Harry straight in the jaw, sending him to the floor, where he quickly recomposed himself and got up, holding his jaw tightly.

The crowd around them gasped. ''I've been looking all over for you'' Mattheo said as he waved the pain in his hand away. ''Matt!'' Avalyn yelled out, trying to walk closer, but a hand appeared around her upper arm. She turned ready to fight back when she found Theo, falling silent.

''What the hell are you doing!'' Ron yelled out, walking closer to Mattheo. Enzo stepped in, placing his hand on Ron's chest. ''Do not get involved Weasley'' Ron pushed Enzo's hands away. ''Do not tell me what to fucking do'' Ron hissed out, his gaze turning from Enzo to his best friend Who stood face to face with Mattheo.

''Mattheo!'' Avalyn yelled out as she tried to get closer again. Mattheo turned to send her a glare, making her stumble back a bit in slight shock. ''What do you want?'' Mattheo asked Potter, watching as he readjusted his glasses. ''I'm here to apologize'' Potter said lowly. ''For kissing my fucking girlfriend?!'' Mattheo yelled out as he pushed his finger into Harry's chest.

''It was wrong, but it happened i-'' ''Oh fuck off'' Mattheo said as he send another blow to Potter's face. Harry stopped fighting back, staying on the ground as Mattheo leaned over him, hitting him again and again and again.

''Stop it, Matt!'' Avalyn cried out as she watched blood fly with every punch. ''You want her as well?'' Harry groaned out in pain, turning to look Avalyn, before turning back to Mattheo with a fiery glare in his eyes. He nodded at the question. ''Then fucking fight back!'' Mattheo yelled.

He hit Potter again, Avalyn let out a sob as she covered her ears, hoping to block out the sound of Mattheo's fist colliding with Harry's jaw. Theo turned towards Sage. ''help her'' He ordered softly, watching as Sage placed her hands on Avalyn's shoulder, hoping to give comfort. Theo stepped forward, taking hold of Mattheo's arm before he could punch Harry again. ''Hands off, Nott!'' Mattheo said as he tried to push Theo away.

''Enough'' Theo said as he tried to pull Mattheo off, but Mattheo did not budge. ''Not yet'' He hissed out angrily. ''Look at Ava, man, She's terrified,'' Theo mumbled, Mattheo turned to Avalyn, She had her hands in front of her ears, tears staining her cheeks and if he looked closely he could see her body shake at the sight of him. Of him. The person who was supposed to make her feel safe was scaring her. He was pretty sure that Sage was the only thing holding Avalyn up.

Mattheo softened at the sight of her, allowing Theo to pull him off of Harry, who gathered his strength and pushed himself up. Hermione and Ron both steadied him as Theo stepped closer to Potter, releasing his hold on Mattheo as he looked down at the three Gryffindors, his jaw locked in place and eyes dark.

''Now get out of our party'' Theo mumbled out, watching as the three stumbled back and left.

Mattheo slowly moved over to Avalyn, who flinched away from him. ''No'' Mattheo warned her, making her freeze on the spot. He closed his eyes in slight regret once he noticed the fearful gleam in her eyes. Mattheo held out his hand. It looked bruised and bloody, but he needed her to take it. Avalyn hesitated before carefully grabbing it.

Mattheo pulled her into his chest, wrapping his arms around her. ''I'm sorry'' He whispered as he watched some people leave, he didn't blame them. Most Slytherins stayed, and the people close to Mattheo stayed as well as they were all on his side in this.

Avalyn took a few deep breaths, the shock her system had felt settling as she felt herself calm down. She knew it had to happen.

Enzo placed his hands on Mattheo's shoulder. ''Let's just play a game or something, yeah?'' Mattheo nodded as he followed his friends to the small circle of couches in the middle of the common room, Avalyn still stuck to him. Everyone found a spot, Mattheo sat Avalyn down next to him, but the moment he sat down she crawled onto his lap, getting comfortable as she placed her head against his shoulder. Mattheo relaxed. At least she still felt safe with him.

''Truth or dare?'' Pansy offered, most people just nodded, still shaken from the sight they had seen. ''Who wants to start?'' Draco raised his hand, asking the first question as Avalyn just listened. She observed a few rounds, still wrapping her head around the fact that everyone around her did not even seem phased by what had happened. Blaise turned her way.

''Avalyn, truth or dare'' Avalyn cleared her throat as she nodded. ''Truth'' She said with a rough voice. ''Best night you've spent with Mattheo'' Avalyn gasped at the private question but released her breath once she realized no one seemed surprised. She thought about it. ''First night back from Christmas break'' She said, hearing Enzo choke out a laugh he had tried so hard to hide. ''Any other answer would have been wrong'' Theo added, Avalyn stared at him as he sat next to Sage, her leg dangling over his. She shook her head, thinking back to the night they had caught the pair on the way to the bath. It must have been quite the sight.

''Enzo truth or dare?'' Avalyn asked, Lorenzo raised his eyebrows in surprise as he shrugged. ''Dare'' He said. Avalyn smiled softly as she nodded. ''I dare you and Loraine-'' Loraine looked up in surprise. ''-to spend 7 minutes in heaven'' Enzo shook his head as he stared at Avalyn, who send him a small wink.

He smiled as he took Loraine's hand and guided her to a private room.

Mattheo sighed as he wrapped his arms around Avalyn. ''I guess we won't see them for a few so I'll go'' He cleared his throat. ''Sage, truth or dare?'' Avalyn giggled softly as Sage looked up in surprise. ''Dare'' She said softly. ''I dare you to get comfortable on Theo's lap for the rest of the game'' Sage shook her head in amusement as she stood up.

''Only if you're okay with it'' She said as she looked at Theo. ''Oh, go for it. All good'' Theo said as he lifted his hands from his lap. Sage stepped forward and carefully sat down. She moved around to get comfortable. Avalyn and Mattheo shared a laugh as they watched Theo become red. ''Now we don't want to do that'' He finally whispered as he grabbed Sage's hips and kept her still.

Sage placed a hand in front of her mouth in slight shock as she shook her head. ''Sorry,'' She whispered softly. Avalyn turned to her boyfriend with a soft smile. ''Did you have a good birthday?'' She asked in a soft whisper. Mattheo smiled back, as he leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on her jaw. ''The best'' He whispered. ''Thank you'' Avalyn smiled and nodded.

''And I see you also found Theo a girlfriend'' Mattheo mumbled into her ear. Avalyn nodded. ''Yeah, they're cute no?'' Mattheo let out a soft laugh. ''Sure Ava''. Avalyn turned towards slight movement near the door, watching Enzo walk back into the room, his hand laced with Loraine and his lips stained red from the deep red lipstick Loraine was wearing. Avalyn giggled as Mattheo snickered at the sight.

''Enzo, I don't think thats your colour'' Mattheo said, making the circle burst out in slight laughter. ''Funny. just for that, I will be going back to my room'' Enzo said as he started walking past the circle, never releasing Loraine's hand. Avalyn gasped out ''Do you know what this means!'' Avalyn said excitedly, turning in Mattheo's lap to face him. ''Ava stop moving'' Mattheo hissed.

''This means we were not the first to leave to have sex for a change!'' Theodore threw his head back in laughter as he nodded, Sage gasping at the words that left Avalyn's mouth as it was not something she was used to. ''You are right'' Mattheo said as he held up his hand for a high five. Avalyn high-fived him, feeling him take hold of her hand and pulling her closer to him.

''But we are going to be the second because you keep moving, Ava'' Mattheo said as he let his lips hover over hers. ''Moving? I don't know what you are talking about?'' Avalyn said as she shuffled around once more. ''This is on you'' Mattheo said as he stood up, throwing Avalyn over his shoulder and walking out of the circle. ''Thank you all for coming, I had a great birthday. Sadly Avalyn thinks she is being funny, so we must retreat to my room.'' Mattheo spoke as his friends shook their heads.

''See you tomorrow Theo'' Mattheo said as he turned around so Avalyn faced the group. ''Say bye'' He mumbled. ''Bye!'' ''Bye Ava!'' Sage said as Theo stood up as well, gently placing her down. Avalyn giggled as she felt Mattheo move her up the stairs, closing his bedroom door behind them.

''I'll walk you back to your room'' Theo said as he took hold of Sage's hand, who smiled gently allowing Theo to pull her with him to the Hufflepuff common room. The pair snuck through the hallways, Sage getting them into the common room. ''Which room is yours'' Theo asked softly as Sage now pulled him behind her.

''Prefect room'' She whispered, the pair walked up the Prefect stairway. Theo stopped in front of the door, turning her his way and smiling softly. ''I am very glad Avalyn introduced us'' He mumbled and he did have to give it to Avalyn, she knew how to set people up. ''Sage?'' A voice spoke from the down the stairs.

Sage widened her eyes as she quickly pulled Theo into her room. ''Shit, Professor Sprout.'' She said as she placed a hand over Theo's mouth. His eyes widened in slight surprise. A soft knock came from the door. Sage pushed Theo behind the door, keeping her hand over his mouth as she opened the door. ''Professor Sprout!'' She said excitedly.

''Did I just hear you come in?'' Sage gasped softly. ''Of course not, no. I was just catching up on some reading'' She said, professor sprout looked into the room, her eyes falling on the books on the bed and she nodded. ''Alright, good night'' She said as she watched Sage close the door. ''Night'' She said, before closing the door completely.

''She a light sleeper?'' Theo asked as he walked past Sage, looking around her room. She just nodded, watching the tall Slytherin take in her room. ''Guess it's not safe for me to head back then?'' Theo said with a slight smirk, Sage laughed. ''Definitely not, you should stay here all night'' She dared say as she stepped closer to him. Theo smiled at the answer.

Avalyn had really picked out an amazing girl. She was very good-looking, not afraid to go after what she wanted and the pair had really shared a lot of laughs during the party.

''Poor me'' Theo whispered as he placed his fingers under her chin, lifting her head his way. ''yeah'' Sage breathed as she locked her eyes on his lips. She wanted to kiss him, so badly it almost hurt. But Theo was so tall Sage could not reach his lips thus making it as good as impossible to make the first move.

Theo leaned down, placing his lips on Sage's. Softly, almost like a flutter. Sage gasped softly at the feeling, placing her hand on his cheeks. She pushed harder, deepening the kiss and feeling Theo walk backwards until the back of his knees hit the bed. He sat down, Sage was quick to crawl onto his lap. Theo sighed as he pulled her against him.

It would be good to remember to thank Avalyn for introducing him.

Deborah Godfrey walked up the stairs of her apartment complex, a heavy sigh left her lips as she could already feel the blisters on her feet. She had a 12 hour work day behind her and all she wanted was to dive into her bed and sleep.

She arrived at the door, taking out her key to open it, but as she went to put the key in she noticed the door was slightly ajar. A heavy feeling settled on her shoulders as she slowly pushed the door open and walked into her home. It was dark, but as her eyes adjusted she found a figure sitting at the kitchen table.

Deborah flicked on the light, stumbling back a bit at who she found sitting at the table. ''Cyrus'' She breathed softly, watching as the figure stood up. His suit fit neatly on his body as he stalked towards her. ''Hello Deb'' He mumbled as he stopped in front of her.

''You look well.'' He whispered, Deborah shook her head. ''How are you here?'' She asked softly. Cyrus smiled softly. ''Got out'' He mumbled. Looking at Deborah he remembered why he had chosen to come back to her home after going out. She was absolutely beautiful. For a muggle.

''Avalyn is not here'' Deborah said as she raised her chin, suddenly finding comfort in the fact that her daughter was safe at hogwarts. ''Not here for Avalyn'' Cyrus said as he sighed out. The air around them thickened. ''What are you here for?'' Deborah asked as she took a small step back. She had always felt nervous around Cyrus, at first for how handsome he was, by now she had no idea what to expect from him.

''I'm here to kill you, Deb'' Cyrus whispered, watching as Deborah gasped and turned around, ready to run. But he grabbed her arm. ''Listen to me'' Cyrus spoke as he pulled her back. She fought, hitting his chest to try and get out of his grip. ''Deb, Listen to me, please'' Cyrus begged and Deborah froze. She had never heard him say please before.

She looked up at him. ''There is a war going on. The dark lord broke me out'' He explained. Deborah seemed surprised at the mention of war as Avalyn had not mentioned anything, nor seemed worried about a brooding war. ''He gave me a choice, Kill you or Avalyn'' Deborah gasped at the mention of her daughter.

''I know you don't want Avalyn to die. I don't want that either'' Deborah felt tears rise in her eyes. ''Die yourself'' She choked out. Cyrus nodded, after everything he had done he deserved it. ''If I do, he'll kill you both'' Cyrus said. Deborah choked out a sob as she placed her hand in front of her mouth, her knees buckling from under her, but Cyrus held her up.

''Sit down, Deb'' Cyrus said as he helped her to a chair. He had killed people before, many even. But having to kill Deborah made his heart heavy with sadness. Deborah placed her hands on her knees as she took a deep breath. ''He'll kill her? He said that?'' Cyrus nodded as he sat down next to her.

''But she's dating his son'' Deborah cried out, as some part of her had hoped that her daughter dating Mattheo would mean she was safe from any possible harm coming from the darker side of the wizarding world. ''I don't think he cares'' Cyrus whispered out. Deborah dropped her head in her hands in disbelief as sobs left her lips.

''Not Avalyn'' She cried out as she felt Cyrus take hold of her. She wept as she buried her face in his chest. ''I am so sorry'' Cyrus whispered. ''Why would you tell me this?'' She said in a harsh whisper, her voice hoarse from the lump in her throat.

''Because I want to give you the chance to say goodbye to Avalyn'' Deborah felt her lip quiver at the thought of Avalyn being alone. ''Fine,'' She whispered finally, raising her head again. ''I'll be a pawn in your stupid war. But you have to promise to not leave Avalyn'' Cyrus swallowed thickly as he nodded. ''I promise, I'm not leaving her'' Cyrus whispered. ''Not again''.

Deborah nodded, a loud sob escaping her lips in utter disbelief. This was not happening.

''I'll write to her'' She whispered in a strangled voice. ''I need you to give it to her'' She went to collect some paper and a pen. ''Of course''.

Deborah sighed as she started writing. Cyrus let her, keeping an eye on Deborah and comforting her when she burst out crying.

Deborah did not even spend a second crying about herself. All her tears were for Avalyn, about leaving her alone to fend for herself after promising her to stay with her. Deborah folded the letter, putting it in an envelope and closing it gently. ''Get this to her'' She said as she pushed the letter into Cyrus' chest, watching as he tucked it safely into the inside pocket of his suit.

Cyrus held out his arm, watching as Deborah hesitated. ''Will it hurt?'' She whispered softly, staring at the man who, despite how poorly he had treated her and their daughter, she still cared for. Cyrus looked at the floor as he slowly shook his head. ''I don't know'' He finally whispered. He looked at her, ''I'll try and make it quick'' He promised in a soft whisper.

Deborah reached over and took his arm, feeling the air thicken and when she opened her eyes again she stood in a clearing in the woods. She did not know where, but her eyes locked on those of the dark lord. A shiver ran down her spine as she looked around, there was enough room to run, to escape, but she would never risk Avalyn's life.

''Welcome, Muggle'' The last word left the dark lord's lips in disgust and the people around them let out growls of distaste. Deborah did not speak as she released Cyrus' arm and watched as he walked up to the empty spot next to the dark lord.

''You need to tell Avalyn that I love her a-'' ''Quiet'' The dark lord exclaimed, Deborah glared at him as she took a deep breath. ''And tell her to not let this slow her down. She's been doing so well, she's going great places'' The dark lord scoffed at the guts of the muggle as Cyrus nodded. ''I will'' He promised, watching as Deborah used her hands to wipe her tears, before nodding.

''Alright,'' She whispered as she looked at Cyrus sending him a short nod. Cyrus reached inside his suit and took out his wand, raising it at the woman who, despite his nasty behaviour, had always taken care of him, guiding him towards being a better parent to Avalyn as well as being a better person in general.

He owed her so much and he was going to repay her by killing her. His heart felt heavy as he took a deep breath. ''Close your eyes'' Cyrus whispered softly, watching as Deborah closed her eyes and relaxed her shoulders. The dark lord crept over his shoulder, his stench surrounding Cyrus in anticipation.

Deborah thought back, all the memories of her life flooded her brain. She held on to the sight of Avalyn smiling. The pure happiness that radiated from her daughter's face, the wrinkles next to her eyes, the dimples she had passed on to her. In the background, she could hear Cyrus speak two words.

''Avada Kadavra''

Deborah smiled softly as she kept holding on to her daughter. Her gift. Her blessing. The one thing she would have never been able to live without.
