_____________
We enter the funeral home Giles was in earlier with Buffy. Directing her to the room he was in, we walk up to it to find it empty and dark.
"Damnit," Buffy sighs.
"This is so cool," a male voice says behind us.
Each one of us turns around in shock to see Owen—who Buffy instructed not to come with us, but to stay at The Bronze.
"Owen, you can't be here," Buffy says, going to stand in front of her date.
"Oh and I suppose you guys are allowed? What are we doing here? Are we going to see a dead body," he continues with the questions.
"Possibly several." She turns to look at us. "Guys watch him."
"Is she mad?" Owen questions as Buffy walks away.
I sigh, folding my arms against my chest. "Well, she did tell you not to be here."
"She just wants to make sure there's no guards," Willow says at the same time, shooting me a pointed look.
Shrugging, I brush off Owen's look of confusion he sends my way before I start walking in the direction Buffy went, the three following behind me.
"You don't like me, do you?" Owen asks, coming up to walk beside me.
I raise an eyebrow at his boldness. He's never been a talkative guy, but in the past few days he's said more than he's said in years.
"She ego is just bruised that you turned her down a while ago," Xander says behind us.
"Xander!" Willow gasps.
I scoff, shaking my head. "No I'm not. I'm so over that by now."
"Then why do I have a feeling I'm annoying you?"
Before I can say anything, we turn a corner and see Buffy walking out of a room.
"Is everything okay?" Willow asks.
Buffy nods. "It is."
"And we'll be leaving?" Xander questions next.
"We're not done looking around yet," Owen speaks up.
Rolling my head, I look at Buffy's date. "I think we've look around enough."
"No, he's right," Buffy disagrees. "Lets find a nice, safe, fun room to look around in."
We walk down hallways, following the blonde slayer. Taking a turn, Buffy walks up to the office door. Owen brings up that it was locked, but my gaze focuses my Buffy's hand around the handle as she yanks down hard on it, clearing breaking the lock. She peeks her head inside the dimly lit room before we all pile inside.
"I don't think we'll find anything in here," her date says.
"Lets the plan."
As Buffy scans the room, not doubt looking for anything potentially dangerous, I take a seat on one of the couches, crossing my right leg over my left. I know she's going to leave us in the room to watch over her date while she takes care of busy. Normally I'm in the mood for some action alongside the slayer, but tonight all I want is to do the minimum as possible.
The slayer tells Owen she's going to bathroom, and instructs the three of us to barricade the door before she walks out. Xander and Willow get to work, dragging two chairs to block the door.
Xander turns to shoot me an annoyed glance. "Would you mind getting up and actually doing something?"
I return his look with one of my own before he pulls the cushion behind my back up, and my body falls backward to the hard back of the couch. "Fine!" I huff, getting up, and throwing a few cushions on top of the chairs, mocking what Willow and Xander are doing.
"Oh my," I hear Owen behind me.
We all turn and see what has captured his attention. In front of us is a died body, covered with a white sheet with the left arm pocking out of the side. Willow and I have catching expression of distaste on our faces. Just has Own is asking if a dead body moves, we see the left arm twitch and move up. Willow steps forward next to Owen as Xander and I are behind our red headed friend.
The arm raises and pulls the white sheet off of its face. The body sits up, and the man turn his head to reveal his contorted face with yellow eyes—a vampire. The think glass between the room the vampire is in and the one we're in isn't going to hold. The vampire lifts himself off the bed, clenches his fists at his sides,
"I've been judged," he says, his mouth turning up in a smirk.
"What's going on?" Owen asks.
A second later, the vampire steps up to the glass window and brings his face against the glass. The window breaks and falls to the ground—I knew it wasn't going to hold up against a vampire.
I curse, turning as the vampire starts to claim, 'he has risen in'. Grabbing the cushions, I start throwing them away as the three soon join me in unblocking the door. We mange to clear the doorway. Willow and I slip out first, followed by Xander and Owen. The four of us start running down the hallway Buffy took us down earlier, still hearing the vampire rambling on about sucking us dry.
As we turn a corner, we run into Buffy, telling her where the vampire rocking camo pants is. The slayer motions for us to get out. We spilt up once more—Buffy going to the vampire and us four going for the exit.
I round the corner to the exit first, only to stop and gasp. My arm catches Willow before she can reach the vampires standing there. Willow screams as the doors close, the vampires locking us inside. We decide to take another hallway to see it as a dead end. Cursing, I run my fingers through my hair. So much for doing the minimal tonight.
We hear a commotion and then Giles call out Buffy's name. Owen starts jogging in that direction, "We have to help Buffy."
"Owen!" Willow yells after me.
"Mother f--," I sigh, starting to job after the boy.
The three of us reach the room where we hear Buffy's grunts. From the doorway, we see Buffy fighting of the camo wearing vampires as Own is lying on the ground. He starts to raise his head, holding the back of his head.
"You killed my date!" the blond slayer exclaims before kicking the vampire in the middle of his torso.
"Buffy," I start to say, but Xander holds up a hand for me to stop talking.
"Give her a sec."
The vampire goes to attack the slayer, but Buffy dodges him. He lands on the table, and Buffy pushes it towards where the fire is burning. The vampire lets out a yell as Giles then shuts the door, letting the camo wearing vampire to be cremated.
Buffy notices Owen is alive and goes to him. When he asks what happened to the vampire, the slayer simply said we scared him away. Buffy helps Owen to his feet as he's still rubbing the back of his head.
I watch as Owen turns down Buffy's attempt of trying to save the date, claiming he'll walk home. When the slayer asks to bring him home he refuses. Shaking my head, I stay back as Willow and Xavier offer to take him home, knowing Buffy will need a friend.
I send her a small smile as she walks away from Giles. Holding out my arm, Buffy wraps hers around mine as we walk out of the room.
*****
Sighing, I collapse on my bed after taking my boots off and changing into sweats and a tank top. I walked Buffy home and offered to stay the night or if she needed someone to talk to, but the slayer refused after thanking me for bringing her home. My heart goes out to my friend. All she wants is to try a date like a normal person, but even that is hard to do.
Just as I'm leaning over to turn off my lamp, there's a light tapping on my bedroom window. Raising an eyebrow, I sit up on the bed to get a better look out of the window. Seeing the figure kneeling there, a smile picks up on my lips. My feet touch the floor before bringing me to the window, unlocking it, and smiling at Angel.
"Hi," he says, sending me a small smile of his own.
I see him sitting on the roof, and before any of my neighbors can see him, I pull him inside my room by his shirt. He lets out a grunt as I yank him forward, not expecting my sudden action, but he steps into the room as I step back in order to give him space to come in.
"I'm glad you're here," I say, biting my bottom lip as I take his hand and pulling him towards the bed.
Taking a seat, Angel sits beside me. "How was-" he starts to ask but I bring my pointer finger to his bottom lip in a silent motion.
The corner of Angel's lips turns up as his eyes meet mine. "I would love to talk, but there's something it'd love even more."
With that being said, my hand cups his cheek as I lean forward to connect our lips. I can't have one kiss with Angel and be satisfied. I haven't been with anyone in a while and my body's yearning is starting to take the driver's seat, pushing my rational thinking to the back.
I push Angel onto his back and I follow, my knees taking place beside his hips. My hair falls beside our heads before he runs his fingers through my hair, cupping the back of my head. His other hand rests on my hip as his fingers go under my tank top to rest on the bare skin at my waist line.
I like this man a lot. And I know I'm probably going to get my heart broken, but right now, I could care less.

"So you had sex?" Willow asks abruptly, not allowing me to finish my story of what happened last night.
"No!" I exclaim, looking around to see if anyone is looking. "We just made out. No clothes even came off. He even stayed until I fell asleep."
"He didn't stay the night? You didn't wake up in his arms like in some romantic comedy?"
I give Willow a pointed look. "I thought I was the one who's supposed to be the sarcastic one, but no he didn't. Maybe he didn't want to chance my mom finding him in my room. I mean, it's not like we're dating."
"But aren't you? I mean, you only are interested in him, and what I saw at The Bronze the other night, it's the same for Angel."
I sigh, leaning against a locker. "I don't know. We haven't really gotten to know each other to be honest. I mean, I feel comfort and safe with him, but I don't know anything about Angel."
"Maybe you should change that since you really like him."
"I know, and I will. Eventually. Anyway, how's Buffy doing? I haven't had time to see her today."
"She's okay. Turns our Owen wasn't scared off, but wanted to be more on the wild side. Buffy's the one who turned him down."
"Wow. It's probably for the best though."
Willow nods. "Back to Angel, when are you going to woman up and ask him what's going on between you two."
"Soon," I say, rolling my eyes. "Now lets not bring it up again until I do."
