Finally, as the days flew around without much of an excitement and details, my life sucked and I had to look gloomily at the gray doom standing with pride of about a fifty or more years of success/ history. Gah, that has never helped me swell with pride. In fact, I have done everything in my power to never like this doom. Today, I planned to go low pro, a safe day, a safe weekend and at the end of the day... go home!

Certainly, life has planned much more excitement than what we always plan and so I was met with the biggest blunder today. I was trying my best to keep a low pro and walk out when my head struck into the biggest and most popular soccer player Adam, he stood there like nothing happened and when he turned around to see me, he acted as if he was about to fall. Hurt beyond the limit, I smiled my signature style and he flinched staring at me with an expression I have seen in Alex, so, I walked out after flipping my favorite finger. 

I looked back to see him tracing my big silhouette. I assure you I heard him whistle. I kept my head held high with a poker face saying: 'Like I care'. 'So much for keeping a low pro', I mentally scolded myself while reaching the safety of my locker which was situated at the far end, a safe place. Taking out necessary things, I closed the door to see a much excited Ann.

"Hi there, how was your weekend?" I chirruped to which she dismissed it eagerly to talk about something else.

"Did you know, that Lena...has come back to pay revenge?"

I couldn't help myself but gasp at the revelation and I was scared. I couldn't afford to do anything as in medical terms if she does things to me like I did to her.

"And, did you know? Her parents told her that they won't sue you because according to them, they scolded Lena for being a bitch and applauded you for standing out. God, I was shocked to hear this and came instantly to find you." She was laughing so loud that I held an amused grin to myself. I felt bad and good at the same time, but it was cut short by a piercing bell that resonated through the hall and then our principal's voice boomed through the speakers.

"Attention everyone, there is a notice from the principal's desk. Good morning everyone, there has been a fire attack in the library and school's records room which have spread to the computer section and offices. The fire was intentionally put and the CCTV has given us a vague idea of three boys and two girls running away from the library just before 6 today. Very soon, we will catch them red-handed and until then, you all will be under close watch. 

The school will be closed for two weeks for a quick maintenance and after that period, if the school remains in bad condition, we will let you know about the classes until then I request all of you including teachers, janitors, and all other staff members to not leave town. Thank you."

The place was unhealthily silent and the minute we heard the click, the hall was buzzing with frantic voices and fervent thrills. It is not every day we get to have something like this happen; most importantly making the school shut down. We were happy, so very happy for this unexpected vacation, but the thrill and fear were soon flushed to worry as the smell of fire spread through the hallway. Students and teacher alike shrieked and ran out and many fell in the stampede.

Ann ran clutching me and I was eager to get out alive. But unfortunately I saw Mrs. Celine in the music room screaming through the door but no one saw her. I broke from Ann and ran to the door which was hot and that was when I realized the fire is near. I didn't know how I opened the door but I did and she ran out coughing and gasping for air. It was then the smoke slowly crept and the crackling sound sounded so near, that I ran with Celine.

Suddenly, I realize she was running in the opposite direction, still coughing, I had to drag her away from the fire. Clutching to me, I helped her run and being the athlete girl, she ran away from me and I felt like I was slowing down. I tried to run but sudden nausea and tiredness made me realize that I was not prone to smoke. Whenever I come in contact with intense smoke, I lose my consciousness and become incapable of running. This time, I was moving in and out of consciousness and the smoke felt like they were so near... trying to engulf me.

I think I heard footsteps approaching and in a blur, I saw two strong men scooping me up. From the voices, I felt there were three of them. No matter in what situation, I will recognize him, my brother, Fabio... Cooing words and murmurs kept me awake and I was dragged into daylight. How did he get here?

I could hear whispers and talks. I could hear Miss. Celine whimpering and Ann calling me out.

"She needs fresh air; the smoke is not good for her. She needs... move out.... It always makes... weak. Please... give...Please..."

I could hear Fabio asking to those who have swarmed upon me to move back and I could hear someone say a poor thing. Miss. Celine was saying something over and over again as she cried and everyone gasped at her. "She was trying to save me....from music... oh my..." my eyes were blurred and I tried to say water. But, it came out like small mutterings and Fabio scooped me up and held me close. "Water" I tried to say and even before I get to finish it, he held a bottle near to my lips. After taking two sips, I felt revived.

"I never get to say thank you... oh, I feel so bad..."

"Oh don't worry Miss... my baby sister won't mind. Calm down. She is always this life saver."

Regaining my consciousness and feeling good, I swatted him away and asked him to not embarrass me. Laughter erupted from him and after kissing me on the forehead little longer, I could feel my cheeks heat up. I tried to stand while he and Alex helped me to my feet. Adam applauded me for my bravery and I felt sheepish, blushing, I stood there looking down and then the applause spread like the fire and the whole lot of people even if some smugly crossed their hands, most of them apprised for my bravery and I was the new popular girl, who saved someone by sacrificing my own life. Wow, what a new day and an adventure plus again, so much for keeping a low profile.

Soon, the fire was controlled by the fire engine in the wing where the fire first started and two other fire engines came to press the raging fire. The gray building was sulking and the place that had lots of stories to say had one more chapter to its book. But, this was really a tragedy and the people who are responsible will be held accountable.

"Oh dear, I don't know how to thank you."

"Miss, I just did something I believed I should have done and consider this lucky that I saw you. What if I haven't seen you? I..."

"Many saw me, but they just ran away and that was what made me really thankful to you. I mean, you could have run away when you just came running to me. By the time you broke the door, the heat was unbearable. I cannot believe it. It was so intense; the children who did this should be properly punished."

"I thought people might have missed you as the music room was soundproof and you were just a silhouette at the door. I wonder who did this."

"Bad... people... the police are here and I wish they don't go all fingers on all of us. I can't believe there were two girls with them."

"It is such a sick world mam."

"Ah..." after some fidgeting, she turned to look at my brother. Ooh, someone's blushing. So, that is your brother?" Fabio was standing with Alex and our football coach. Adam joined them after a while. Looking back at her, she has her eyes fixed on him, more like glued on to him.

"Yes, he is." She still had her eyes fixed on him and I was chuckling to myself. Just as I looked at him, I saw him looking at her and then I saw where things were heading. Excusing himself, he walked towards us and Celine became restless, she fixed her already perfect hair and skirt. With a smile, he slid his arms around me and started chatting with her. I slowly pulled out and walked towards Ann.

"Oh my god, do you know what happened when you were inside gasping for air?"

"Nope, tell me."

"I saw Connie clinging to Alex and she was crying. Alex being the perfect gentleman was holding her and I didn't know what to do as I saw Miss. Celine coming out but not you. So, I panicked and went to him and told him, he instantly removed himself from the grasp and phoned someone named Fabio and ran inside. Adam, his friend stopped him from going inside and then they both ran inside. After a while, a guy came and ran inside and then, I saw they both carrying you outside and you clinging to the new guy. Celine was crying like crazy and then the new guy whom I knew with his speech was your big brother and he brought you to your senses. You had to see the faces of most of the girls when they knew that Alex and Adam ran to get you plus the new handsome guy. It was priceless and I would have snapped a picture of Connie's face if I was not panicking."

Annie was laughing, and I was laughing with her so hard. She just goes on and on when excited or nervous. But when I stopped myself and thought about what she said that Alex and Adam risked getting inside to help me. I was feeling something; something like tingling inside my skin, heart swelling and chest puffing out with a wide smile on my face plus something somersaulting in my stomach. I don't know what is really happening to me. After a while, we saw two firemen carrying a limb girl with burned skin. They said she was trapped in the showers by the gym. It was devastating.
