Alara and Lorian make their way through Ephemera's winding pathways toward an ancient library said to contain records of the Celeste lineage. Along the way, they face hostile locals who see Alara as an omen of misfortune due to the prophecy surrounding her. Lorian, though enigmatic, appears to possess skills that hint at a background in espionage or warfare, leaving Alara suspicious of his true intentions.

At the library, they meet a reclusive historian named Nyssa, who reveals fragments of an ancient text. This text speaks of a "Falling Star," a figure from whom Alara is descended, destined to awaken the "Astral Key." Nyssa warns them that unlocking the secrets of the Astral Key could summon forces that threaten to unravel the fabric of reality itself.
