Day 1
All I can remember is this bully - Jacob I think - pushing me into the sea and then everything went black. I thought I was blind. I started hyperventilating, but I calmed down and asked myself 3 questions:
•Am I still in the ocean?
•If I am how am I still breathing
•Am I dead?
My legs somehow felt tied together. I saw a fish like thing with some kind of lantern tied to it, so I knew I wasn't blind. I took a leap - swim of faith and started to swim up. It was so much easier to maneuver, but I was swimming for what felt like hours until I saw a very light shade of blue. I saw coral and beautiful, vibrant colors of marine life. I looked down and saw a TAIL! On me! But in a her strange way it was beautiful. And here I am writing in my diary.
Later Today
I CAN NOW SPEAK TO WATER LIFE. I was writing in my diary ⬆ when I heard a voice say "I never thought I would live to see a NEW species!" I screamed. "I know right! I mean dolphins only live like 20 years and I'm still young" I was about to speak, but that reminded me... How long was I down here?! So I asked the dolphin "How old do I look!? Be infinity percent truthful." "You look like you're still a teenager to me" "Really?! Wait how do you know if you've never seen a human?" "So you're half human. I could tell by your tail. The longer the tail, the older". I wasn't hungry or dehydrated. What are you talking about Emily, you can't be dehydrated! "How did my feet morph into a tail so fast?" "I don't know, but we have to think of a name for your species. What's your name?" "Em- how can I trust you?" " You humans aren't very smart are you? Dolphins are friendly. We eat fish and fight sharks. Well, only when we need to". Dang it I knew that. "I'm sorry I actually knew that. My mind is just all over the place right now" "That's terrible! We need to find those pieces right away!" "No no no no no! That's just a figure of speech!" "Oh! I guess you can teach me more about humans." "And you can teach me more about marine life. Well I guess I have to tell you my name. My name is Emily" "My name is Dolphina. I know, how original? My friends call me Dolphy." "Well you said you wanted to name my species, right?" Dolphina beamed. "How about Emilia's" I shook my head. "What about human- fish?" I scrunched up my face like I smelled something terrible. "Ooooh! What about mermaids?" "That has nothing to do with humans or fish. By the way how did you even come up with that?" "I don't know. It just sounds right". " How about we call my species merpeople,call girls mermaids, and call boys mermen?" "But it's just you". " I have an idea" I grinned. I remember at my school I would always sing and it attracted boys out of nowhere- even Jacob. So I went to the surface and hid behind a rock. It was night. The only person there was Jacob. He looked ashamed. "Emily, if you're somehow alive *sigh* The only reason I bullied you was because I liked you. I never knew it would end like this". I had to hope he was special like me for him to survive. If we ARE meant for each other then he should be able to survive. I went on top of the rock I was behind and started singing. "Emily?! You look so... Different." I started backing into the water and he ACTUALLY followed. He kept babbling on and on about how he was sorry, and how he was going to make it up to me, and yadda yadda yadda. As soon as the water was up to his waist I took his arm and took him under the water. How did I get super strength out of a FISH?! After an hour Jacob grew a tail.
