|| chapter eight.
Stiles' POV
Where in the hell did she go? Allison couldn't have just disappeared like that; I had to find her. She was insane for thinking I'd leave her like this.
"Allison!" I shout through the darkness, trying to overpower the sounds of screams behind me. Almost everyone had fled the scene, but the last few were trying to get out before whatever was coming got them.
Suddenly though, I hear a faint sound of struggling in the dark before I hear a shout back. "Stiles!"
I take off at a sprint when I realized that it was Allison, sounding scared and worried about something. It was unlike her to sound that way. I mean, I've only known her a few days, but the scared emotion didn't correlate with Allison's personality at all. Something must have really gone wrong.
When I finally reached where she was, I was astounded at what I saw. She was now kneeling next to the guy she had called Cole a few minutes ago, her hand pressed on his side. Her and him both looked at me as if I held the answers to something, but I had no idea what the hell was going on.
"What is going on?" I say before I see something out of the corner of my eyes, causing me to move my phone flashlight over to see a girl lying there against a tree; clearly more than dead.
Shit.
Allison shakes her head as she tries to get Cole to stand. "I-I don't know. I know though that he's hurt and needs to stop the bleeding."
"I need to go to a fucking hospital!" Cole shouts over Allison, finally standing as blood stained his shirt. I wondered what his wound was, so I tried to ignore the dead girl beside us as I stepped forwards, having him move his hand out of the way so I could see.
My mind went back to Beacon Hills the moment I saw it; a huge bite mark. Everything around me screamed of the past and of Scott, except Allison was here this time and the girl wasn't fully cut in two. This can't actually be happening again...can it? I guess history does like to repeat itself.
"You can't go to the hospital," I say, eyes wide. Cole glares at me as Allison turns to me in confusion, probably wondering why I had said that.
Cole glares over at me, piercing through the darkness. "Like hell I won't. The bleeding won't stop!"
I tried to convince myself that it was just an animal bite, but hell, it looked the exact same as what Scott's did. It was huge, too large to be something like a mountain lion, so that only left one other choice: a werewolf.
Allison nods her head. "I'm afraid he's right, Cole. We can't take you to the hospital."
I wondered what her reasoning was, but she had a suspicious look on her face that worried me. "You both are fucking crazy!"
"Maybe," I breathe, accepting the fact that me and my life were crazy a long time ago. "Just trust us, Cole. We're trying to save your damn life."
"By letting me bleed out next to my now dead girlfriend?" he shouts at me, the screams in the background starting to fade away into police sirens. He looks over at her for a moment, almost throwing up before holding it back. "Please, just get me out of here."
"That we can do," Allison says, her arm still wrapped around his shoulder as she helped him stand. I nodded my head as I go over to help Allison, our arms pressing against one another as we helped Cole up the hill and back towards the path.
He kept hissing in pain; every time he put too much pressure on that side, he would always stumble for a moment before catching his breath again. I mean, I wasn't sure how Scott had exactly been the moment after he had gotten bitten, but something about this didn't seem right. He should be healing by now I would think. When Scott had bitten Liam, he healed miraculously fast.
Then there was this feeling in the pit of my stomach that something or someone was watching us. The rest of the party was almost completely gone except for a few people still running down the path in front of us, every now and again a few kids pushing past us, screaming. My eyes scanned the darkness for red eyes looking back at us, but I didn't see anything.
"God, this fucking hurts," Cole says, more-so to himself. Allison glances over at me, something in her eyes telling me that she knew more than what I thought. I wanted to ask her, but not with Cole here.
As soon as we made it out of the path, starting to head to my Jeep, red and blue lights flashed in front of us. The light showed Allison's panic as well as mine as a cop came running over to us, thinking that we were just trying to get Cole out of the woods.
"Are you guys alright?" the officer asks, making me move over as he takes the guy under his arm, taking my place. Another officer rushes over as well and takes Allison's spot as Cole hisses, clearly in a lot of pain.
Allison runs her fingers through her hair. "Yeah. We found him next to a tree bleeding out. T-There's another girl back there...she's dead."
The two officers nod their heads at us and then back to the other officers up on the hill, starting to make their way to the trail. Allison looks at me briefly before she reaches out and takes my hand, holding it for some type of comfort. I would have been more happier about it, despite the current situation.
"Ma'm?" a guy says, now standing in front of Allison and I. I saw by the name-tag on his uniform that he was a paramedic, his name being Shawn. "Can you follow me please?"
Allison nods her head towards him before her fingers slip out of mine, leaving me behind. I would have followed after her, but another paramedic came rushing over to me then, this time being a girl. She was darker skinned, a young looking lady that reminded me a lot of my dad's old deputy Tara. She was a sacrificed to the Darach, though.
"Do you have any injuries or anything that I need to be aware of?" she asks, shinning a bright light on me, searching me as if I was bleeding to death like Cole.
I shake my head, stunned about what was happening. I was used to cops, but I wasn't expecting something like this to happen tonight. The girl, who's name was Jada, says something to me that I just sort of drown out, but then she was leading me up the hill, more than likely to inspect me further to make sure I was really and truly okay.
When we made it up the hill and when I was sitting in the back of an ambulance, it finally hit me. A girl had died tonight; from something or someone we weren't aware of. Cole was bitten, meaning that he was now my problem to deal with. Not to mention the fact that he would be healing soon and he was going to be in the hospital. How are you supposed to explain something like that?
My mind spun a million miles an hour, and it was only soaring downwards. First it was Cole, then it was the girl, and then it was what could have been out there that killed her, and then it went to Allison. I looked over at her, seeing that she was sitting there across the road in the back of an ambulance like me, eyes staring at the concrete as the guy took her blood pressure.
I knew what my next move was, and I knew that I couldn't do it alone. I had to get Cole out of the hospital; before the doctors noticed how he was miraculously healing, if he survived the bite that is. Knowing Cole just by what I've seen of him tonight, I knew that he wasn't going to handle any of this well. That's why I needed a partner in crime.
And that would have to be Allison.

"You two take care, okay?" Jada says to Allison and I, standing right outside of our room door. She had brought us up to make sure we got back alright, which is what they're supposed to do.
I nod my head, hand on the door handle, twitching with nerves. "Yeah, you as well."
She smiles faintly before turning and walking back down the hall from which we came, causing me to turn and shut the door as softly as I could. When I turned back around to look at Allison, she was standing there staring at me, a hard look on her face. What was odd about it was that she seemed broken and fazed just a few seconds ago when Jada was still here.
"Spill it," she says, sounding firm but not intimidating, if that made sense. She sounded like she knew I was hiding something, but her tone also hinted at something towards calmness.
I furrow my eyebrows as I walk around her, heading towards the fridge. "What are you talking about?"
"I know you're hiding something," she sighs, following me like a lost puppy, but keeping her distance. "And I want to know what that something was."
For some reason, I knew that I had to tell her. Yeah, I needed her help with Cole and she wouldn't help me without an explanation, but she deserved to know. I mean, hell, after tonight, she at least needed an explanation for that. Plus, I trusted her.
"Allison, you're going to think I'm crazy-"
"Trust me, I know crazy," Allison says, her eyes brighter than they were a few moments ago. "Whatever it is would have to be crazier than what I already know, and I doubt you can beat that."
I raise my eyebrows, looking down at my shoes. "We'll see about that..."
"What is it then?" she asks, urging me to talk faster.
I wasn't sure how to start off, so I started with the first thing that came to my head. "Okay, so you're familiar with the Little Red Riding Hood, right? You know how there's a girl in a red hood and a grandma and the wolf-"
"Stiles, what in the hell are you talking about," she says, rolling her eyes slightly.
I hold my hands out, gaining her attention back. My heart was racing. "Okay, uh, bad start. How about, uh...the nogitsune."
"What are you even talking about?" Allison groans, noticing my fidgeting.
"Uh, not the nogitsune," I breathe, not really wanting her to know about that yet...or at all. "Okay, here it is: werewolves. They're real, and Cole was bitten tonight by one."
Allison stares at me blankly for a moment, making me regret for a split second about telling her. She was going to think I was crazy, change rooms, and then we'd never speak again. God, why didn't I rethink any of this. This was a huge mistake.
But then she throws her head back, laughing in a way that I've never seen her laugh before. My hands lower as I stare at her, wondering what in the hell she was laughing at. Yeah, what I said sounded crazily stupid, but funny? I guess I've been apart of this lifestyle for so long it was far past the funny stage.
Finally, she looks back at me, locking eyes with me. "You know about werewolves?"
"My best friend is one," I say, it coming out before I could stop myself. "I know you probably think I'm crazy, but-"
"I know you're not crazy," Allison says, laughing slightly to herself. "Let's just say I know a little about werewolves as well."
My eyes bulge. "Woah, hold up. You're telling me you know about werewolves too?"
"And just about every other supernatural creature out there as well," Allison groans, clearly thinking back to something. "You ever heard of hunters?"
Hunters; yeah, I knew about them. They came after Scott when he was first learning how to be a werewolf, not to mention how one of them killed some of my friends. I knew by the way she said hunters that she was one, and then it all fell into place. Her dad training her, the daggers she had...it all made sense.
"You're a hunter?" I breathe, wondering if I just sold Scott out to her. "This isn't happening right now."
Allison stares at me. "I guessed that you knew something...but I had to make sure before I spilled the beans first."
For some reason, Allison's whole image changed in my eyes. The old Allison was still there, but now she seemed more dangerous and lethal; like she was against my cause. I didn't technically want to help Cole, but I knew I had to. It made me wonder if Allison had other things in mind; like kill him.
"Why are you looking at me as if I was naked," Allison asks, snapping in my face.
My eyes flash back up to hers, talking before I could stop myself. "Are you going to go after Cole-"
"Yeah," Allison nods, making my stomach knot. "He'll start to heal soon; he can't be there when the doctors notice. We need to get him out of there."
Thank God she was on the same page as me. "We need to go then."
She reaches onto her bed as she pulls out two daggers, sticking them in her pockets. "Come on; we need to hurry."
I had so many questions I wanted to ask her, but getting Cole out of the hospital was the number one task at hand at the moment. I knew for a fact that I was going to get answers out of her sometime, to know more about what she knew, but that would have to wait awhile.
Allison looks back at me, furrowing her eyebrows. "Did you say something about a nogitsune a minute ago?"

Blah, how was that? I'm hoping to make the next chapter more funny with them at the hospital and all...but guys, I'm having so much fun with this story. I really hope you're liking it so far!
