Prologue
The thick summer air
Wet eyes and desolate stares
Desperately, she
Searches, grasps at relief
Wondering, what happened to me?
Back aches and no sleep
Restless between soft grey sheets
She tosses and turns
Hating the constant feeling
Of uncomfortability
She smiles bitterly
Because it's been five solid
Weeks without any
Kind of relief, but she works
Through aches pain and agony
She stares at a ghost
Dark circles and vacant eyes
She longs for a coast,
For somewhere to let go and
Find herself, leaving her ghost
She can't stop crying
Maybe because she feels like
She's lying, confused
She's guilty, almost
Lost in her plain agony
She smiles as she dreams
About the golden field of
Relief and flowers
Where pain doesn't reside
And she can sigh, not having to hide
Her eyes close softly
She breathes a sigh of relief
Finally finding
Peace and letting go of her
Ghosts, pressure and agony
She closes her eyes
Sinking beneath the water,
She aches tirelessly
Wondering how she got here,
Stuck laying in hot water
Ocean waves crashing,
She stares at the vacant sea
Dreaming of things like
Possibility, she sees
Better things and more relief
Sunshine and warm air
She smiled as she remembered
she wasn't as pain centred
Her stares her were less bare
