Day 6 - Origami Shop

World / Series: Steve Lab
Timeline: N/A
Overall Feeling: Wholesome (A rare miracle :D)
AU: Steve Lab, Cafe/Modern
Characters: Sabre / Prof. Favre, Galaxy Steve / Galaxy Assistant (Starlight), Baker!Time Steve (Mentioned)
Settings: Modern City
Word Count: 1414

Note: The Cafe/Modern AU is an old AU I had a long time ago, having only made a few concept art and not much else. It is as its name suggests, a Modern type AU, although...of course. It can be seen as a normal Modern AU or a Modern-Fantasy AU. Most likely a Modern-Fantasy considering that magic and video game mechanics still exists.

Galaxy Assistant Appearance:

Author Note: Rare art from me here, do they look like a child? That's mostly the point honestly. Prof. Favre isn't typically someone that could create all that well.

Prof. Favre hums happily as he walks down the streets, holding onto his latest and newest Assistant that he had created some time ago.

Galaxy Steve or Galaxy Assistant as he's known with his other assistants.

But personally, Prof. Favre refers to them as Starlight, the name he had called the project that led up to their creation. It was sorta unfortunate that the project led to their creation to that of the physical and mental capacity to that of a young teenager, likely around fourteen to fifteen at most, but that was okay.

He was fine with that, a striking difference amongst his Assistants really.

Between Assistant Steve's calculative Animosity towards everything and everyone, as well as Rainbow hateful distrust towards him, he knew that a change was sorely needed. That just happens to come in the form of his newest creation and Assistant, one specialized in Astrology and well, the Stars itself.

Who no better than a Galaxy Steve?

Of course, the plan worked and he created his own Galaxy Steve, but since he's not someone meant to create like others he knows, well, there have been some minor setbacks. One of which was the fact that his Galaxy Steve is mentally and physically a young teenager. In the end he didn't care and decided to just keep him around regardless.

Right now, he had granted the bright and young Galaxy Assistant of his on a trip, one that he had never brought his other Assistants along! That is a trip to one of the worlds he happens to frequent and isn't hated! Curtsey of this world Sanre, being kind enough to help him on occasion, but right now he's only visiting this world to show his dear Starlight the wonders of the worlds he'll come across in his research on the Stars.

But also because there was no way in the Void he is going to let him miss out on Time Steve cooking. Especially Baker!Time Steve, absolutely not, The Steve Continuity Cafe is his favorite Cafe and the only Cafe that allows otherworlds to visit in a neutral manner.

But also because, unlike his other two Assistants, he rather let this teenage Galaxy Assistant have a decent childhood of sorts.

However, due to Baker Time suggestion, he's currently taking Galaxy Assistant along with him to run some errands, get some shopping done and even allowed them the chance to be free instead of isolated in the Lab unlike the others. He wasn't that cruel to let a young teenager like them to be trapped, even with their research on the Stars to keep them occupied, it wouldn't be fair for a growing teenager.

He wasn't even sure if they would grow up, but he is NOT missing out on the chance to let them grow–

Prof. Favre stopped what they were doing upon feeling Galaxy grapes his hand tightly, confused he looked down on their young assistant, wondering what got them distracted, although they were surprised to see them being awestruck by something. Following their gaze, he found that it was a Origami Shop. Which, actually surprised him, he had been down this street countless times before, he had never seen this shop before.

Perhaps it had opened recently, Prof. Favre thought to himself curiously, but also admittedly, admired the beauty of the Origami that were being showcased.

He should probably buy some more Origami paper, he was severely low on supplies as of late anyways.

"Starlight, do you want to check out the Origami Shop?" Prof. Favre questioned as he looked at Galaxy, they seemed startled by the sudden question, seemingly flustered. "W-What? There's no need though?" They answered, albeit utterly confused, which made Prof. Favre smiled gently as he ruffled his hair. "Now, now, my dear Starlight, there's no need to be so flustered, I can see that you're curious by the beauty of Origami."

Galaxy seems reluctant by the suggestion, which made Prof. Favre a bit worried, well, more like concerned about whether or not his other two Assistants had instilled some comments that would lower his self esteemed–

"What about the shopping that Baker Time wanted us to do?" Galaxy questioned, deflecting the question to a different topic off of him. Prof. Favre hums, he doesn't like the idea of his newest creation to have low self esteem, especially at this age. "Don't worry about that, I'm sure Baker Time wouldn't mind his taking our sweet time, besides he's not in a rush to get the stuff anyways." Prof. Favre waved off as he gently pushed Galaxy towards the Origami shop, much to his protest.

In which he ignored as he entered the shop with his young star blessed creation.

There, they were greeted by a colorful and beautiful sight of all sorts of different types of Origami and the many different types of papers used along with it. Some plain in colors and others with beautiful patterns and decorations. There they're greeted by a shop worker, where they and Prof. Favre engaged in a long and seemingly complicated conversation.

One that Galaxy didn't seem all that interested in hearing and wandered off to look around instead, gazing at all the paper made creations with wonders and seemingly starstruck. While exploring, another shop worker came up to him, offering to show and teach him how to make a few simple origami. Excited, Galaxy Assistant nodded as he was shown and taught how to make a few.

Unaware that Prof. Favre watched him with a fond and happy smile.

"You must be proud of your child, aren't you?" Prof. Favre blink, seemingly surprised by the comment from the Shop worker, who he had learned is actually the owner. "While yes, I am in fact proud that they're exploring new hobbies, but–" Before he could finish explaining, he felt someone hugging his side, looking down he saw it was his Star blessed Assistant.

He held out a not exactly well made paper crane, but it was still good for a first attempt.

"Dad! Look! I made a paper crane for the first time!" Galaxy excitedly cheered as he had shown him the messily made paper crane, at first, Prof. Favre was dumbfounded at being called Dad, sure he knew that being the creator, it wouldn't seem far-fetched to be called as such. But at the same time, he had never been called a dad, mostly creator or professor by the other Assistants.

And yet, the idea of being called Dad by the Star bless Assistant before them...it wasn't so bad. In fact, it made him feel...warmed. Loved even.

With a hearty laugh, he ruffled Galaxy Assistant hair.

"I'm proud of you, Starlight. Shall we get you a beginner guide and some origami paper to go along with it?" He complimented with a big smile, much to Galaxy Assistant excitement as he cheerfully squealed and hugged him. Prof. Favre hugged back.

He may not know what it's like to truly be a parent, but he wouldn't mind if his Star Blessed Creation called him as such, even if his original purpose was to serve as his Assistant, he wouldn't have it any other way.

Although he's sure that Baker Time would have a field day (and bake plenty of pastries as a celebration) with this story when they get back to the Cafe later.

I can't believe it.

It's a Miracle how I, The Angst God, have written something wholesome!

Are you proud? Are you shock? Whatever may be the case, think of this as a extremely rare blessing that I didn't turn this into Angst! :D!

Although, I'll continue to make angst some other time :)
