AU: An Altered Tale

[3rd Person POV]

A group of teenagers stood around a concerningly large bonfire in a vacant field, throwing fireworks around and chaotically screaming at each other. One of them was not like the others and is very confused about what his new friends are doing, but he's learning about one of their favorite things to do apparently, so that's fun.

A group of adults stood a few feet away, just staring at the chaos. Most of them were the teenagers' parents, the rest were the parents' friends and fellow concerned onlookers.

Orange laughs as he watches Funny chase Dark around pointing a sparkler at him, Dark laughing as well and sneakily grabbing a sparkler himself as he passes by the box of them. Shy is uncharacteristically trying to pull a prank on LC by loading a pop-it firework into a straw, preparing to fire it like a spitball at his friend. LC, meanwhile, is teaching Sabre how to use a lighter and a Roman candle.

Happy is holding a video camera and recording the events, occasionally throwing smoke bombs around. Jade returns with Loud carrying bundles of even more firewood, throwing it onto the already large fire to make it burn even higher. Nerdy has taken two different fireworks apart and is somehow combining them.

Red, Leroy, Fern, Ino, Spark, Beef, Garnet, Saffron, Goggles, Sharp, Galaxy, and Time stood off to the side watching. All of their faces were of concern, for both the fire and the children. There's a long, long silence before Spark speaks up.

"...Ino, I blame you for their arson obsession." He says, facing his friend.

"Me?! How is any of this my fault-?!" Ino asks.

"Well, your kids were the ones that started off chaotic, and they just taught it to all of our kids." Fern replies, seeming 100% done with all of this.

"...He's not wrong." Saffron adds. "Ever since your kids started hanging out with ours, I've gotten a looot of concerned townsfolk asking about fires..."

"I- I don't know where they got the fire thing from, okay?! I didn't teach them this!"

"Let's just get them to take it down a notch before they start a wildfire..." Garnet sighs, facepalming.

At that moment, a car pulls up and out hops Elemental, quickly opening the trunk and picking up two boxes full of more fireworks. And matches. And lighter fluid, for some unholy reason.

"Hey kids, guess what I brought!" He shouts, smiling, making the group of teens stop their shenanigans for a moment and look up. Sabre's Roman candle goes off, sending bright balls of light up and into the air, then exploding as they just stared.

Galaxy and Time look at him with horrified looks.

"ELEMENTAL, NO." They both yell.

Red stared off into nothing as the others began yelling at Elemental, while the kids came over and dragged him away with the boxes before they could stop them, and he contemplated how his life got to this point.

This was going to be a very, very long evening.
