~| Day 7A: Creature |~

AU: Symbiosis (tis the goobers once again lol)

Context: Goblin just being a, well... goblin, which means this is a compilation of him getting on Sabre's nerves. It's an accident most of the time.

—————————————————————————————————————

[3rd Person POV (I've been doing a lot of these-)]

Orange teleported back into the Hub, glad to be back after such a long trip. He didn't really want to leave for a week, but he had to help the Orange Leader with a... project. With everything going on currently, he didn't have a choice but to hide the Crystal.

As soon as he stepped off the gazebo, Gerald came trotting up to him and started demanding attention as he usually did. Orange happily knelt down for a few minutes, just giving affection to his little friend since he had missed him so much.

"Hey buddy, I missed you too!" Orange says happily. "Everything go okay for you while I was gone?"

Gerald oinks and squeaks for a few seconds, Orange understanding every bit. Once Gerald stops, Orange pets his head and smiles.

"That's good. I was worried about ya for a little while when I was out there for the week, but it seems like everything's just fine!"

At that moment a crash comes from the house, followed by a familiar voice yelling at something. Orange looks up while Gerald turns around, both of them just looking towards the house as what sort of sounds like a one-sided argument goes on.

"...And what about those two?" Orange asks, getting up. Gerald gives him a look, which makes Orange sigh. "Oh boy, that bad? Yeesh..."

Orange walks towards the house, the voice becoming more clear as he approaches. Once he enters, he can hear Sabre scolding someone. Orange had a guess who. As he walked to the living room, he saw Sabre standing over a broken vase while he held a firm grasp on Goblin's face. Goblin gave hissing responses with a funny squished face as Sabre yelled at him.

"Seriously, you need to cut it out!" Sabre says as Goblin stares indignantly. "Orange is gonna be home soon and I can't have you making another mess after I just cleaned up the last one you made yesterday!"

Goblin makes a few noises, sounding angry.

"Says the one throwing a tantrum!"

More noises.

"That's a complete lie, and you know it."

"Hey guys." Orange says, deciding that he should break up the fight before they get out of hand.

Sabre and Goblin quickly look behind them, their expression surprised. Sabre lets go of Goblin's face, who immediately starts pulling the two over to Orange excitedly.

"Hey- Chill out! There's broken glass, you dummy!" Sabre shouts as he quickly move to avoid getting dragged over the shards of the vase.

Goblin slams into Orange and wraps around him like a snake, giving his version of a hug. Sabre is pulled next to Orange, and rolls his eyes (although it couldn't be seen) and joins in on the hug.

"Hi, Orange. Sorry about the vase." Sabre says, sounding defeated. "Goblin knocked it off the table while he was trying to drag me outside."

"It's alright, it's just a basic vase." Orange replies. "Can I have my arms back now-?"

Sabre steps back, making a few circles around Orange to unravel Goblin from their friend. Goblin is slightly annoyed by this, but doesn't retaliate and just happily makes noises at Orange.

"Glad to see you too." Orange smiles. "So uh, Sabre, what was that about Goblin making a mess earlier too?"

Sabre sighs, while Goblin stops making noises, looks guilty, and retreats back to Sabre and hides.

"Goblin was acting bratty the entire time you were gone." Sabre explains. "I'm sure he just missed you, but it was pretty annoying."

"What exactly did he do?"

"Well..."

—————————————————————————————————————

Sabre leapt through trees, the moonlight guiding him. He was on his usual nightly hunt for food. He figured it would be easier since more animals have started returning from migration, but Goblin had other plans.

While hopping from tree to tree, Goblin suddenly popped out and grabbed onto a branch, launching Sabre backwards and bringing him to a tree limb below where Goblin grabbed. Nearly hitting the tree trunk, Sabre looks up at Goblin, annoyed.

"A warning would have been nice." He mumbled.

Sabre then looked where Goblin was staring, and saw that his little friend had spotted some wild sheep. Usually this was good news.

"Oh, score." Sabre whispers. "Alright, so-"

Before he could make a plan, however, Goblin lunges forward and down, aiming for the sheep. Sabre, not expecting it, loses his footing and falls off the tree limb, making both of them crash into the bushes below the tree. The sheep quickly run off, and it's quiet for a few moments.

"...Goblin." Sabre groans. "If you had airways, I'd be strangling you right now."

Sabre sat at the kitchen table, eating a bowl of oatmeal. It was very early, earlier than he usually woke up, so he decided to have breakfast (maybe more than one) before he started with some chores he had to do.

It was then that Goblin woke up, appearing out of Sabre's back and taking form, his head hovering next to Sabre. Goblin's expression was irritated, and upon noticing, Sabre stops eating for a moment to look at him.

"Woah, good morning grumpy. What's up with you?" He asks.

Goblin doesn't reply. Instead, he takes a moment, slowly looks in the direction of Sabre's bowl, and stops for a solid two minutes... then proceeds to vault himself at it.

"HEY-!"

As soon as Goblin makes contact with the bowl, it goes flying right over him. It practically does a flip as it goes through the air, before abruptly shattering on the ground, spilling oatmeal everywhere.

"Goblin! What's your problem?!"

Goblin just glares as he starts eating the oatmeal off the floor, despite Sabre's objections to it.

It was a nice, sunny day. Not too hot, not too cold, a perfect temperature outside. Sabre took advantage of the nice weather and sat outside with a book, under a tree.

Goblin appears again, starting to look over Sabre's shoulder. Sabre notices, looks at him out of the corner of his eye, and sighs.

"Be nice." Is all he says.

There's a few moments of silence as he continues the book, Goblin reading along as he flips through a few pages. However, Goblin starts looking bored, and after a while says something in his usual gibberish. Sabre glares at him.

"If you have a problem, you can just go back to sleep." Sabre says, then mumbles. "It'll save me the headache..."

Goblin says something angrily.

"I'm not going to the house to get another book just because you think this one sucks. I'm comfortable, the book is getting good, and frankly by now I'm 110% done with the crap you've been pulling all week." Sabre replies, looking away from his book for a moment to stare Goblin in the face, matching his annoyed expression. "So either stop being a pain in the neck, or mind your own business."

They stare each other down for a while, then Sabre turns back to his book, continuing where he left off. There's a few minutes of peace, Sabre starting to calm back down and smiling as he reads. Goblin, on the other hand, just gets angrier. He tenses, coils up, prepares himself, and...

Pounces, grabbing Sabre's wrist. Sabre immediately drops his book, and it's not long before the connected pair is rolling on the Hub floor fighting each other. Gerald just watches, looking disappointed.

—————————————————————————————————————

"...Soooo yeah. And that's only half of it."

"Yikes. And he was only doing all that while I was gone?"

"Well, he seems normal now, so he probably did just miss you. Still doesn't excuse it, though."

"Are you still mad at him?"

"Yes."

"...Did he break the book-"

"He ripped the last few pages out and won't tell me where he hid them! I know they're somewhere, he didn't eat them, but I haven't been able to find them so I can fix the freaking thing and finish the story!"

"Okay, yep, he's grounded. Here, I'll help you find the pages."

"Thanks, Orange..."
