~| Day 30B: Eclipse |~

AU: Creator's Downfall (Because of the isolation and some of the events in the timeline, Origin goes insane and the Realm becomes hostile and dangerous. The people are still good (most of the time), and are simply trying to survive in their vicious environment. Sabre's role in the prophecy changes a little bit, it being said that the Catalyst will be the beginning of the Realm's reformation, kind of making him sort of deified among the Chromatics because of it. As you can guess, crazy Origin doesn't like any of that one bit, and makes Sabre's life harder at every chance he can get. Also TFC is a reluctant good guy after spending so long in the Realm with the Steves, like 'Why must all of you infect me with morals, I hate this- Hey don't you dare harm them I will end your bloodline' XD)

Context: Events happen every so often that make the Realm more difficult to survive than it already is, eclipses being one of them. It makes more mobs spawn and because of there being no sunlight, the Darkness runs rampant. Sabre is running to the Orange Village for shelter, as he was teleported away from a battleground by Dark during a fight between him and Orange Steve.

Oh wow tomorrow is the last set of prompts- it feels like the month went by so fast ;v;

—————————————————————————————————————

[Sabre's POV]

I dodge a swing from a crawling zombie as I dash through the field, focusing on the Orange Village on the horizon.

Of course Dark Steve would teleport me away. Juuuust perfect. I just hope Orange doesn't ditch the fight just to check on me. He needs to take care of the issue first, or Dark might go somewhere else to cause havoc.

As I run closer to the back entrance of the village, one of the Orange Steves sees me and gets everyone else's attention. They start gathering at the edge of the cobblestone walls surrounding the area, scared to leave the safety of their home, but encouraging me to keep going. I see the Orange Leader join the group, looking concerned, just as I jump over a Darkness being that tripped over a spider trying to get to me.

My heart is racing and my lungs burn. It feels like I've been running for hours, but I know it's only been a few minutes.

As I get closer and closer to the village, the Orange Steves reach out their hands, prepared to pull me over the wall. They look so panicked, so I quickly turn my head for a moment to see why... and immediately regret it.

Every mob I've passed, every Darkness that noticed I'm here, have been following me as I ran. They created a horde, shambling and tripping over each other trying to get to me. Some of the Darkness has covered a few mobs that get into the dark entities' way.

I turn my head back around and run faster.

So close, only fifty blocks away.

Thirty.

Fifteen.

Ten-

And then a shockwave erupts behind me, just as I feel something hit my leg. A cacophony of howls and shrieks echo in the air, as the Orange Steves at the wall's gate grab my outstretched hands and pull me up and over.

We all land in a pile at first, before they scramble to get up and help me. I open my eyes while laying on the village pathway catching my breath to see the Orange Leader standing over me, visibly tired, but relieved.

"Sabre! Are you alright?" He asks, helping me sit up. "Were you hit by the force field-?"

"The- what?" I ask, a bit confused.

"I put up the force field for a moment to get the horde off your back. Were you hit?"

"No, I wasn't."

"Are you hurt?"

"I don't think so-"

One of the Orange Steves in the crowd suddenly gasps, pointing at my leg.

"You're bleeding!" He exclaims.

Sure enough, when I look, I see deep scratch marks on the back of my leg, nearly framed by matching rips in my pant leg. A zombie or some other creature must have swung at me at the last second.

"I have bandages! I'll be right back!" Another shouts, then runs off towards the houses.

"Oh no... is it bad?" The Orange Leader asks.

"Uh, not really, doesn't hurt that badly at least." I answer. "I'll be fine."

"What were you even doing out there?" He says in a worried tone.

"Orange and I were just gathering supplies, when we... got attacked by Dark." I say, not really wanting to give the full story right now. They'd all flip out. "He teleported me away during the fight when we noticed an eclipse was starting."

"Cheap shot." I hear somebody huff.

"Did Dark injure you at all?" The Leader questions. Why is he so worried?

"No, I stayed out of the way and shot arrows when I could."

"Nice."

As one of the Orange Steves returns with some bandages to help with my injury. I glance towards what remains of the horde. They're all still there, but the mobs are mostly covered in Darkness, and all of them are staring. But they stay there, seeming scared of the village's defenses.

I hope they stay out there, for everyone's sake.
