Several days later, on October 31st, Laura walks around the hospital with her children so that they can enjoy Halloween and collect candy. The hospital has been decorated to look like a haunted hospital and the staff are dressed in costumes. Everyone knows that Laura and Jordan are parents and that Fontaine and Henry are their children.

After several hours, the three of them return to Jordan's room and stand by their grandparents. They tell him about all of the candy they collected and gives some to William, Rachel, Michelle, and their father.

Jordan has been going through chemo, and is going to have surgery today, so everyone wanted him to have a good time before he goes under the knife.

Jordan. This all looks delicious. Thank you kids for sharing. That is very kind of you.

Fontaine. You're welcome.

Henry. Will you be able to come home soon?

Jordan. Tomorrow hopefully. I have the surgery today, and if I'm healthy tomorrow, then I will be able to go home. I'm close to that point, because I am not sick, my entire family is here, and I have been going through chemo. The only thing left is the bone marrow transplant from your grandpa, and then tomorrow, I will be home.

Everyone talks for another hour, and then Laura and the kids leave with Alexander and Sarah and Laura's siblings.

They have dinner and then get ready for bed and fall asleep.
