Holidays

The Bible does not mention most of the Christian holidays celebrated today. The only Holidays mentioned in the Bible are Jewish ones, such as Passover, Purim, and Yom Kippur. Even some of these are not mentioned by name though.

What does the Bible say about Christian holidays? The Bible says that holidays are something that is left up to the individual to decide if he will take part in or not. Some Christians do not like holidays because they believe them to be pagan, while others look at them as a time to remember God and have fun. God says it doesn't matter which as long as the person doing it is doing it to serve God and that they respect other people's personal decisions.

Romans 14:5-6 - One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

Colossians 2:16 - Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]:

Some people don't celebrate Christmas and Easter, as originally, they were associated with pagan Roman and Greek holidays. Many don't though, as now there is no such association, and many look at it merely as a day of remembering.
