The Painting

Every day she looked at the painting of a forest on the wall, placed halfway between the kitchen and the living room.

That day, when she was still next to the oven, she heard something hitting the floor.

She found the painting broke on the floor and the wall...the wall had faded away.

On the other side of the wall was not what it should look like. Instead of seeing her neighbor's room she saw a forest that was a mossy green, sunlight was shining through the trees, and there was a man standing there wearing a camouflage suit.

She took a step forward into the forest and immediately the forest closed up her exit.

"I'm so glad you decided to come." The man stated.

"Who are you, and where I'm I?"

"I am the owner of this forest, once you come in you can never leave." The man stated giving her a scary smile.

"I don't know about that." A voice stated from the shadows.

The man and the girl both looked towards the voice and out stepped a man wearing a blue suit. He had perfect gold hair that fell to his shoulders like a cloud and eyes as blue like a crisp summer sky.

The man bowed as he said, "Chris at your service."

"Who are you?" The man demanded.

"My name is Chris and I am here to save that girl, and kill you."

"You can't kill me," The man laughed, "I'm unkillable."

"We'll see about that," Chris stated as he snapped his fingers.

Suddenly all the animals in the forest came forth and circled around Chris.

"If you all kill that man," Chris pointed at the man, "I will give you all better lives."

All the animals moved away from Chris and looked at what seemed to be the leader of the animals. The leader said something in its animal language and all the animals turned towards the man and growled.

"What have you done to my animals?" The man asked as he slowly backed away from them.

"Didn't you just see me speak to them? I remember you being there when I talked to them."

The animals lunged at the man, he tried to get away but was unsuccessful. He was soon eaten up by all of the animals, and they left no trace that anything had happened there.

All the animals then went over to where Chris was standing and looked to him to tell them what to do next.

"You all did a wonderful job so it is time that you get paid."

Chris then snapped his fingers and lifted the curse that was in the forest. The animals could now leave, stay, make there own packs in other forests, or go find humans to go and take care of them.

The animals all bowed to Chris before running off to start their new lives.

Chris walked over to where the girl was standing and put his arm out for her to take. She took his arm and he guided her to a door. Chris opened the door and the girl saw her apartment on the other side.

"Thank you so much for helping me, Chris." The girl stated.

"No worries my lady. It was a pleasure to help you." Chris started making the girl blush.

The girl walked into her apartment and Chris came in with her, closing the door behind him.

Her wall quickly rebuilt itself back up and everything looked normal except the painting was there anymore.

"Well, I best be going my lady," Chris stated as he gently grabbed the girl's hand and kissed it.

Chris walked over to her front door and turned around and said, "Good day." And he left.
