I arrived at the hospital thirty minutes after I left the house. Once I parked the car and padded into the hospital I checked in with the nurse at the front desk and went vezzie's room. I opened the door to his too room and walked in and sat down beside of him.
"Good morning sweetie" I say softly as I rub his paws.

He slowly opens his eyes and looks at me with tears swelling up. He leans forward and pulls me into to bed with him and cuddles me crying into my chest.

"It's ok vezzie I'm here now.

I should have never left the house that night I'm so sorry." I comfort him lovingly.

I continue to rub his back and comfort him then I hear the door open and a nurse walks in with a smile on her muzzle carrying his release papers. I sat up on the bed and smiled back at her trying to contain my excitement as she handed me the papers.

"Thank you ma'am." I said with a smile.

She nodded as I signed the papers then handed them back to her. I turned back to vezzie and smiled down at him.

"Your coming home today buddy" I said with tears in my eyes. 

He looked at me with a smile across his muzzle and pulled me into a huge crying and sniffling. I rubbed his back with love and concern as I gently rub across one of his wounds. I clenched my paw in anger and regret.  He looked at me with concern and asked

"Is everything ok?"

"Yes sweetie." I replied
I helped him up and looked at him with a smile. I was so glad that he was still here with us. I would never be able to forgive myself if he would have died. I turned and handed Vezzie his clothes.
"I'll be out here waiting. Just let me know when you finish getting dressed ok?"

I started to walk out of his room when grabbed my wrist. I froze then turned to look at him.

"P..please stay. I don't want to be alone in this room anymore." He asked me with sadness in his voice.

I nodded my head and sat down in the chair next to his bed. He got dressed then looked back at me and gave a smile letting me know that he was ready to head home.  I opened the door for him and smiled as he left with me right behind him. We padded out to the car and left the hospital.

Thirty minutes later we arrived at the house to a massive welcome home party for vezzie. The smile that he had could light a room twenty times over. I parked the car and we made our into the house. As I lead him up the stairs he started to cry so I hugged him tightly and told him everything was alright. We made our to his room as he went inside.

"Get some rest hun you deserve it after everything that has happened." I said with reassurance.

He laid down on his bed and I exited the room closing the door behind me.
