Chapter One

"Aracel Nevia! Get back here right now!" Her mother's voice rang through the hallways as she chased after her carefree daughter. Her blonde curls bouncing on her shoulders as she ran past the guards.

Once again, she had defied her mother's rules and skipped her fighting lessons to go play outside. Although she had already mastered the art of fighting, her parents always made sure that she was always practicing.

The time for battle was fast approaching and they needed her to be prepared. Anything could go wrong at any given time and they were doing everything they could to prevent it.

"Just an hour or two and I will be back," she giggled, dashing out the door and into the backyard. Her mother was still chasing after her and was quickly closing the gap between them as she managed to tackle her to the ground.

Soon, both mother and daughter was rolling about on the grass laughing loudly. It wasn't long before they were joined by Nubia, the younger daughter.

Her loud giggles blending in perfectly with those of her older sibling and mother as they rolled around. This was one of the few times that they all had a good time together.

Everyone was frequently busy doing something else and never had the time to keep one another company. Of course, they all knew that and never complained.

Ashanti was away handling business with a few territories that was a good distance away away from them with their son, while Alejandra was the one keeping the order of things around the castle.

It had taken some time for her to get used to all of this, but with the guidance of the Moon Goddess, she was on the right track.

When their tummies began hurting and they could laugh no more, they all stood up and dusted their selves off to remove any dirt.

"Now that you had your fun, it's time that you went back to your training," Alejandra suggested while removing a few flowers and leaves from Nubia's head.

The young girl had straight blonde hair like her mother, while Aracel had taken her father's curlier hair. Similar to her older sister, Nubia also shared her rare eye colours having her left eye silver and her right eye blue.

Many of the wolves had found it quite strange and was a bit afraid of the girls at first, until they had fallen in love with their bubbly and playful behaviour.

"Okay mother," she groaned, as began jogging away with her mother and sister following behind her.

As soon as the queen had stepped foot inside of the castle, she was immediately greeted by one of her favourite guards, Romaine.

He had spiky dark brown hair and dull grey eyes with a very defined jawline. He was in his late twenties and wasn't too muscular, but very tall.

"Luna, a loud crashing sound came from your study and it smelt as if there was a fire." His tone sounding urgent.

She gave him a small nod and sent him back before turning her attention back to her daughter. "Would you like to help mother with something dear?"

The little girl quickly nodded while bouncing up and down. She always enjoyed being with her mother in her study where hardly anyone besides the queen visited.

A bright smile flashed on the queen's face as they made their way to her study. Nubia couldn't keep her excitement hidden away as she remained bouncing up and down like a spring.

Finally entering the study, the queen quickly shut the door behind them.

The room was like any other study, filled with packed bookshelves with books of all sorts. A small round table in the middle of the room with what appeared to be a small crystal near a wooden bowl.

"What are we going to be doing today and when is father and brother coming home?" She questioned, her voice filled with curiosity.

"No need to worry. They will be back before you know it," her mother responded as she browsed through the books. "Today, you will begin your very first lesson as you now of age."

After getting the book she was looking for, she began to quickly flip through the pages.

"You are now going to be getting lessons to become a great seer." Her eyes scanning through the book as she spoke.

"Did Aracel get seer lessons when she was thirteen as well?" Nubia was always a curious child and always wanted to know as much as she possibly could.

A light chuckle escaped from the queen. "No darling. Just like your sister, the Moon Goddess also has very special plans for you in the future and if your lessons go well, you will soon be able to talk to her yourself."

A wide smile grew on Nubia's face as her eyes began to shine brightly. That usually happened when she was very excited or she was about to do something mischievous.

"Let's start with the basics."

Back in the princess's personal training room, Aracel was practicing very hard to improve her skills. Once again, she had perfectly beheaded all of her training dummies and was left with nothing to do.

She was seated besides the window and was just gazing outside when she heard light footsteps approaching towards the room before the door quietly opened.

A tiny smirk made its way onto her face as she could already tell who it was just by their lemony scent.

Just as they was about to reach behind her, she turned around to be met with shining emerald green eyes and a large smile. His messy black hair going in all directions.

"Oh Darlius, thank goodness you're here to rescue me from this boredom," she sighed as she stood up and pulled him into a tight hug.

Darlius was a close friend of the princess and one of her personal guards. He was good in combat and had very good strategy when fighting.

"Your knight in shining armour has arrived princess," he grinned. "Where would her majesty like to go?" He asked in a horrible British accent causing Aracel to laugh.

She tapped her chin while pretending to be thinking deeply. "How about we go to the square? It has been so long since I've been there."

Darlius was about to protest to her idea when she beat him to it.

"And don't worry about my mother. I'm sure she won't be very angy since I'm done practicing and I'll make sure you won't get in any trouble if we get caught."

Nodding his head in defeat, the two sneaked off to the the village square.
