Chapter Eleven
A frown was on princess Aracel's face as she sat with her book in her hand. Instead of focusing on her History class, she was focused on the reason why everyone was warning her to stay away from Darlius.
He was assigned to her as her personal guard which made things even harder on her. How was she supposed to ignore someone that she saw everyday and was always around her? Was she just supposed to pretend like he didn't exist anymore?
Giving up her essay which was still uncompleted and helping the teacher return the books to the library, she quickly sped away to the rose garden. It was empty as usual but that was exactly what she needed right now. Some peace and quietness to allow herself to think.
The princess strolled through the garden, taking in deep breaths of the roses scent. They looked so vibrant and alive today because it had rained earlier on.
"Omirion?" She called out when she saw her brother sitting near a rose bush while shining his sword. Putting away his sword, he smiled at her before staring up at the cloudless sky.
"Why are you frowning Nevia? Do you want wrinkles at such a young age?" He joked as she chuckled along with him.
Taking a seat next to him on the grass, she wasn't bothered about getting her dress all muddy. She would probably get a scolding from her mother but that would be it. The Queen had already try every way possible to get her to take care of her dresses but never succeeded.
"Just trying to figure out why everyone wants me away from Darlius," she confessed.
A sigh escaped the prince as he shook his head. It was quite clear to everyone that there was more than just a guard and princess relationship going on between the two. No matter how many times they denied it, it was clear for everyone to see.
"It is the right thing to do. You know that dad just wants the best for you," he responded after a moment of silence. The princess nodded her head in agreement but felt as if there were still some details being left out.
Without saying another word, she stood up, dusted her clothes off and walked away. She had another class to get to even though she wasn't really focused on her studies at the moment.
Meanwhile, the King and Queen were in the King's office discussing their future plans. Everything was going smoothly in their pack but they think that it may be a cover up.
They had to act quick but first, they must come up with a strategy. They couldn't just jump to conclusions and things like this needed to be handled properly. If one thing was wrong, then that would ruin everything.
"Alpha Theo is on our side providing us with more wolves on the battlefield. I will be sending Omirion to help train them in two weeks time," the King informed his Queen.
Queen Alexandria nodded her head before getting off the chair. Her blue eyes wondering around the room as if searching for something before she walked over to the window.
"I see, but what are we to do about Darlius? We can't have Aracel getting even more attached to him. That will just make things more complicated for her," she voiced out her thoughts.
The King joined her and followed her gaze. A soft growl escaping his throat when his eyes landed on a training Darlius.
"Even though his movements are quick, he is hiding his true potential. Just by looking at the way his hands are angled, you can clearly see that he is more accustomed to it than he is letting out," the Queen commented.
She always had a sharp eye and took in every small detail. This is how she believed they would win against their opponents.
The King nodded in agreement. "They have only just been introduced to this technique, so there is no way he could have mastered it this quickly. There must be a reason why he is doing so."
The Queen tapped her finger on her chin while thinking about possible reasons. After sometime had passed by, she felt the King's arms snake around her waist, pulling her into him.
"I hate seeing a frown on such a marvelous piece of art," he said causing her to smile. "Now that is much better and smiling just enhances your beauty even more."
Turning around in his arms, she placed a quick peck on his lips before pulling away. The King however quickly brought his lips back on hers and deepened the kiss.
His hands swiftly removing her blonde hair from its bun and allowing it to fall in light waves on her back. The Queen's hair was just a little below her butt and although she cut if often, it grew back in no time.
His hands trailing up and down her dress but just as he was about to unzip it, a knock sounded on the door. Letting out a groan, he stepped away from his Queen and yelled for the person to come in.
In came a bouncing Nubia with a large smile on her face. Her eyes shining brightly, letting everyone know that she was in a joyous mood.
The Queen quickly turned around and tried to fix her hair back up into it's bun shape. The King however had on a matching smile like his daughter when he saw her turning away.
"What is it dear?" He asked, lifting up Nubia and spinning her around. Her light giggles filling the room.
"Can I go with Omirion to the square? I promise I will be on my best behaviour," she added quickly as the King placed her back down on the floor.
The King opened his mouth to say no but a stern look from the Queen made him close his mouth back.
"Of course sweetie and why don't you tell Aracel to join you two," the Queen said with a smile as princess Nubia nodded her head before running off.
She was about to walk out of the office as well, when she was lifted off the ground and thrown over the King's shoulder.
"Why don't we finish what we started," he said with a smirk and proceeded to carry her away to their bedroom.
