CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN

AUTHOR'S NOTE: I'm still not over Hannah's death, but I'm back to continue the story anyway. This chapter will wrap up the last of the major Blast to the Past arcs. I know this fic has a lot going on at once, and I'm currently trying to resolve a bunch of the plot points that were already started before moving forward. This chapter will be a little bit shorter than most of my other chapters. I hope you enjoy it.

CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN

LUCAS
His heart had only been this broken one other time. The sense of grief Lucas felt now rivaled his grief for Nadira and Arianna. He couldn't stop staring at Hannah's body as tears streamed down his cheeks.

"Lucas..." Cassie said softly. She couldn't seem to think of what to say, so she wrapped her arms around him and began to sob as they held each other.

"She died a hero," Austin said firmly.

"She died with honor," B'Danna added stoically, bowing her head as she put her fist over her heart. She mumbled something in Eltarian that Lucas suspected was a prayer for the dead. She knelt beside Roxy and added, "I'm so sorry, Rox... I wish I knew how to make this easier for you."

"We had thirty-one years we never would have had if Lucas hadn't said screw the timeline and saved her... Thirty-one amazing years," Roxy replied. Then, her voice cracked as she started sobbing again. "I want one more day... Just one..." She buried her face in Ronnie's shoulder.

Ronnie hugged Roxy tightly and said, "I've got you, Rox. I'm here. We're all here."

"She's right," Lee said. He wrapped his arms around both twins. "We're family, Rox. All of us. You're not alone."

T'Dania watched them with sympathetic eyes before saying, "I know your loss today was great, Children... But we must continue on. The fight is not over."

No one moved. Lucas couldn't quite make himself release Cassie. He was half-afraid he'd lose her next.

"If anyone wishes to focus on grieving, I will open a portal and send you somewhere safe. I will also send our sweet Hannah to a sanctuary until it is time to lay her to rest," T'Dania said. "Those who wish to continue fighting may follow me."

Bradley was crying silently. Kaylen hugged him. "Go, Uncle Bradley," she said. "Keep her safe until we can join you. Take Dimitria and Patti with you."

"But... You need me," Patti protested softly.

"I know you loved Hannah as much as she loved you. Right now, you need to be with your family," Lee replied. "You just found your mom, and she needs medical help. You should spend this time with your parents, Patti. It's okay to grieve and to process this. Ronnie, Roxy, you guys should go, too."

"I'm staying," Roxy said firmly. This seemed to surprise the others, except for T'Dania, who nodded and looked impressed.

"Roxy, you've just lost your wife. You need to take some time," Serena said practically.

"No, what I need is to take down the bastards who did this to her. I have to see this through to the end, guys."

"As you should," T'Dania replied.

"Mama Roxy..." Lia said softly.

"Go with them, sweetheart," Roxy replied. "I need to know you're safe before I do this. I promise you I'll come home tonight and we'll get through this together."

"But what if something happens to you, too?" Lia asked with tears in her eyes.

"I won't let anything happen to Roxy," B'Danna said firmly. "On my honor, I will bring your mother home to you."

Bradley pulled Lia into his arms. "Come on, Lia," he said gently. "Let's get out of here so they can do what they do best."

"I'll carry Hannah," Austin volunteered. "After I know everyone's safe, I'll come back to y'all."

He closed his eyes, visibly holding back tears, before he gently pulled Hannah out of Roxy's arms and stood up. "Come on, Miss Hannah... It's time to go home now," he said softly.

"Lucas... Are you staying?" Serena asked.

"I'm not leaving until this is over," Lucas vowed.

"Same here," Cassie said firmly.

"Ronnie, go," Lee said. "Please."

"Rox is staying, which means I am, too," Ronnie replied stubbornly.

"You're hurt."

"This is my fight. These assholes kidnapped me and our kids, and killed my sister-in-law! I'm staying, Lee."

He sighed before nodding. "Alright," he agreed. "Then let's do this."

"I believe it is time, T'Dania," Dimitria said weakly.

T'Dania opened the portal. "Call a healer immediately once you arrive," she advised. "One who can restore life force. Dimitria will not survive without one."

"Taylor or Zedd can help," Cassie suggested.

"They aren't powerful enough, even combined," T'Dania replied. "You need someone stronger as well... The Eltarian incubus, Braydee, might be able to help them do it... Of course, Bartello would be ideal, but Braydee is nearly as powerful."

"Bartello's dead," B'Danna replied in confusion. "Jezzeff killed him and Zee last year."

T'Dania smirked slightly, and Lucas was suddenly thoroughly confused. What does she know that the rest of us don't? He wondered.

"Listen to me carefully, Bradley," T'Dania said. "If the three incubi combined are not enough, you must call Andie."

"Andie's a powerful healer, but she can't restore life force," B'Danna said. "Pierce, as a Shaman, might have better luck."

"Andie knows someone who can help. If it comes to that, trust me, call her. Now go, my friends. Austin, darling, when you wish to return, the portal will reappear and bring you to us."

"Thank you, Miss T'Dania," he replied.

Lucas tried to be strong as Austin carried Hannah's body through the portal. Bradley, Patti, Dimitria, and Lia followed him through it. The portal sealed behind them.

Cassie squeezed his hand, and Lucas took a deep breath and wiped away his tears. "Alright, guys," he began, "let's finish this."

LABY
The building was wrapped in multiple labyrinths, but they were pathetic compared to what he could have done. Laby easily navigated his way through, guiding Ben and Diamond along as he did.

"We're close," Diamond said suddenly. "Brace yourselves."

Ben squeezed Laby's hand and asked, "Ready, Luv?"

"As ready as I'll ever be," Laby replied. "Let's go."

Together, they headed into a new room. It was on fire. "Bloody hell..." Ben mumbled.

Diamond easily put out the flames with hydrokinesis. The floor began to crumble beneath them. Thanks to Diamond's vision, they were prepared for that, too.

"This is powerful earth magic," Laby said as he navigated across a very narrow path to safety. "Who the hell is working with Jezz these days?"

"Someone with a natural talent for such things," Diamond replied.

"Di, that was vague as fuck," Laby pointed out.

"I can't tell you more than that, Laby. You aren't meant to know yet."

"Not even a hint?"

"That was the hint."

"That hardly counts as a hint."

"That's all you get. Sorry."

Laby pouted in protest for a moment. "You're cute when you beg, Luv," Ben teased him. That put the smile right back on Laby's face.

Baizena suddenly came into view. Laby could feel the pull of her energy as she tried to induce visions of his worst fears. The ring fought back, keeping his mind clear.

"Jeanie..." Ben whispered.

"Ben, it's not real," Laby told him.

"Jeanie... She's... She's dead..."

"Ben, listen to me," Laby said firmly. "Look into my eyes."

Ben let out a whimper that broke Laby's heart. Laby tilted his face until he was looking directly into his eyes. He uncloaked them, letting the golden spirals show as he began speaking soothingly. "Jeanie's not here, Ben. She's with Rez, and she's safe," he said. "This isn't real. This bitch is just messing with your head. See the truth, Ben. See me. Focus on my eyes and my voice."

"Labyrinth..." Ben whispered.

"I'm here, Ben. It's okay."

As Ben's mind cleared, Baizena lost her grip on him. Laby turned toward Diamond, who was trembling but slowly starting to calm down.

"Are you okay, Di?" He asked.

"I'm good," Diamond replied with only a slight quiver to their voice.

"Your party tricks don't work on me, Baizena," Laby said firmly. "Why don't you face me for real?"

Baizena showed herself then. "Release my brother," she said.

"I'd rather not," Laby replied.

"Release him now or I will destroy the ones you love!"

"There aren't too many of those left. What do you say I lock you in that labyrinth with your brother instead and you have your little demonic family reunion nice and far away from everyone?"

"We have already killed a Wildcat today," Baizena announced. "Maybe I'll destroy your precious friend B'Danna next!"

Laby laughed, covering his concern for B'Danna and his horror at Baizena's claim that one of the Wildcats was dead. "You can try, Baizena, but Bee-Dee's not exactly an easy target. Maybe set your sights lower to start. And if you call her precious to her face, she'll destroy you before you can even finish the word."

"You're damn right I will," B'Danna said as she entered the room. She was not alone. Ronnie, Roxy, Cassie, Lucas, Lee, Serena, Kaylen, and T'Dania stood with her looking determined to fight. Laby automatically moved protectively in front of Ben at the sight of T'Dania.

Austin and Hannah aren't here, Laby realized. He wondered which of them was dead. Roxy's bloodshot eyes told him what he needed to know.

Oh God, he thought. Not Hannah...Of all of them, not Hannah...

The ring pulsed slightly, and his mind calmed down enough to focus on the situation in front of him.

"Where are the spirits, Baizena?" Kaylen demanded fearlessly.

"Not in this room," Baizena replied smugly.

I'm sorry, but your Princess is in another castle, Laby thought. The Super Mario Brothers reference suddenly seemed pretty appropriate.

"They're beyond that door," B'Danna said. "I can feel..." She hesitated before trying again. "I can feel Draze."

"You will never reach them," Baizena said firmly.

The members of the Guild came out of the shadows then. Laby took a moment to recover from the shock of seeing Zutan alive and well. He knew he was back, but he hadn't expected to see him standing beside Jezzeff.

"Really, Zutan?" He asked. "You allied yourself with Jezz? What a step down! I would have thought you'd be trying to take over with Zell out of the running for the role of Biggest Bad."

"I'm not leadership material," Zutan replied. "This suits me just fine... You look exactly the same, Laby. I guess that shouldn't surprise me."

"Immortal shapeshifters don't change unless they want to," Laby replied.

"Enough chit-chat," Jezzeff said. "Zutan, now."

Zutan suddenly flung a tornado at them. T'Dania caught it in midair and held it in place. "You must do better than that, Child," she informed him.

Zutan made a fist and stopped her breath. T'Dania struggled, but continued to hold onto the tornado.

"This one is insanely powerful," Zutan said nervously. "I cannot hold her for long, Jezz."

Diamond grabbed onto the back of the tornado. After a few moments, it stopped swirling in place and died down. Zutan collapsed on the ground and T'Dania began breathing properly again. T'Dania looked at Diamond for a moment before saying, "I had it handled. I do not require the help of a Yizak."

Laby's eyes widened in shock. "Did she just say Yizak?" He demanded. "Are you kidding me?"

"We can discuss this later, Laby," Diamond replied.

"But Di-"

"There are more important things to focus on right now."

T'Dania paused. "I see. This wasn't public information. What are you hiding from, Diamond Yizak?"

"Look out!" Cassie shouted as Sezzon came toward them with a powerful blast of magic. Diamond dove out of the way as T'Dania countered the attack.

Diamond nodded at Laby. He lunged at Baizena and placed the charm Diamond had given him on the demon's chest. She suddenly screamed as it began to glow, draining all of her power from her.

Seeing Baizena growing weaker, Ronnie grabbed Lee's sword and shoved it through the demon. "That's for messing with my family, you grody bitch!" Ronnie declared.

In her weakened state, Baizena could not recover, and a few moments later, she exploded. Her energy went straight to her twin despite the labyrinth. Laby had expected that, thanks to Diamond. The force of it made him hit the floor, but he recovered quickly.

"Laby!" B'Danna cried in alarm. She helped him back to his feet. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, Bee-Dee, I'm good," he replied. "Just a little unsteady."

He knew the truth... Baizamo was still trapped in his labyrinth, but once his sister's energy settled into him, he would escape. When he did, Howard Mills would probably come back into play, Ben and Jeanie would have to face him, and Laby would be bound to a demon who was free to claim him.

I need to think of a way out of this before he escapes, Laby thought.

"Ronnie... I am so proud of you right now," Lee said.

"Same here," Laby said with a smile. "You did great."

"No one threatens the people I love," Ronnie replied.

Kaylen kicked down the door to the next room just as Austin appeared. He looked completely broken, but he still stood beside his team, ready to fight. As Jezzeff moved to attack Kaylen, Austin punched him right in the face.

"Don't. You. Dare," he said sharply. Laby had never seen Austin so furious.

Before anyone could stop her, Roxy ran up to Jezzeff and kicked him in the groin. She followed this up by slamming his head against the wall. As blood gushed down his cheek, she broke his nose with a powerful punch.

"You killed my wife, you son of a bitch!" She informed him.

Jezzeff popped his nose back into place and began wiping away the blood on his face. "I'm terribly sorry for your loss. I assure you, she was not my target," he replied.

Roxy was about to respond when B'Danna said, "Rox... Use this." She tossed her a sword.

Roxy smirked before shoving the sword straight through Jezzeff's heart. It wouldn't kill him, but it seemed to make Roxy feel better.

To Laby's great surprise, Jezzeff's chest began to smoke. He screamed in pain as Roxy pulled the sword out of his chest. Pure light burst from his heart until he collapsed onto his hands and knees, too weak to stand.

"Bee-Dee, what the hell was that?" Laby asked.

"It's one of Jezzeff's old swords," B'Danna replied. "After he killed him, Captain Smith kept it and he put a spell on it that cleanses anything it touches with pure light. With Jezzeff being pure evil, it's just about the most painful experience he'll ever have."

"How'd Cap know you'd need it?"

"Garron."

"Right. I should have known. At least he's good for something."

Everyone made their way through the door, unopposed as the Guild tried to tend to Jezzeff. The air left Laby's body for a moment as he spotted Tiffani first. If he didn't know better, he would have thought Zutan had attacked him, but this was the result of pure shock.

She was just as beautiful as ever. Her eyes lit up as she smiled at the sight of him. "Laby!" She cried.

"Hey, Beautiful," he greeted her sadly. He was calm thanks to the ring, but he could still feel his grief.

"Laby, move the crystals and we'll be able to escape this prison," Flekt informed him.

Laby's heart caught in his chest for a moment. "It's good to see you, Flekt," he replied as he went to move the crystals.

"Don't!" Serena said sharply. "They're electrified. I can see the currants in the air."

"It won't kill me," Laby pointed out.

"It would still hurt," Serena replied. "We need to knock one out of place without touching it directly."

"Allow me," B'Danna replied. She waved her hand. A powerful gust of wind flew against the closest crystal, knocking it several feet out of place.

"Nice, Bee-Dee!" Laby declared.

"You're getting good at that," Draze said with a smile.

Laby watched his beloved friend move closer to him and B'Danna. "I missed you guys," Draze said as he reached them.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there to help you, Draze," Laby said softly. "I thought you guys would be safe with Cap."

"We were. That attack was just a huge disaster," Draze replied.

B'Danna obviously couldn't bring herself to look at him, so she focused on Flekt instead. "Ama misses you," she told him.

"I miss her, too, but she's exactly where she needs to be," Flekt replied.

"Laby!" Tiffani suddenly shouted.

Laby looked toward her and realized that the Beast Morphers had entered the room. The Blue one had wrapped his arms around Ben's neck and was squeezing hard.

"Let him go!" Laby demanded.

"No," he replied.

"Honestly, mate, if you're going to choke me, you could at least tell me your name first," Ben said. His voice was strained, but he spoke in his usual calm and sarcastic tone.

"Ravi," the Ranger replied. "Now shut up." He began squeezing harder.

"Get your hands off of him or you'll regret it," Laby said. "I don't want to hurt you, Ravi, but you're not leaving me much of a choice here."

"Come with us willingly and we'll let everyone else go," Yellow said.

"Sorry, honey, but that's not really an option."

"How about this option?" Kaylen asked. "I knock you all unconscious with my bat and we fix your asses before you do something you can't come back from."

"Kaylen, you can't just beat up all of our enemies with your bat," Serena protested.

"Watch me."

"Kay... It's not their fault they're loyal to Jezzeff," Austin reminded her gently. "We need to help them without hurting them."

"Ekstazzioz, ibolux viorz nawht," Draze said softly.

The Beast Morphers suddenly curled up on the floor and began napping peacefully. Their morphs vanished. The Gold Ranger started sucking his thumb.

Laby ran to Ben and pulled him into his arms. "Are you okay?" He asked.

"Splendid, Luv," Ben replied. "I could use a drink, though."

"Um... What just happened?" Lee asked.

"It's a very powerful Eltarian spell. It makes the mind of the person you cast it on temporarily revert back to an infant and generally results in instant napping," Draze explained.

"Wow... Can you teach me that one for Nik and Dimi? It's impossible to get the twins to sleep!"

"Lee! We do not use magic on our kids," Ronnie scolded him.

Draze smiled at them both. "I'm so glad you two got your happy ending," he said. He looked at Roxy sadly and it was clear he somehow knew the truth. "I'm so sorry about Hannah, Rox. You two were great together."

"Thanks... Dave," Roxy replied. She offered him a slight smirk, but the sadness didn't leave her eyes.

"What do we do with the nap time kids?" Cassie asked.

"Allow me to relocate them," T'Dania replied. She waved her hand and they vanished. "They are in a pocket realm. We may bring them back once we find a way to reverse that abomination of a spell Jezzeff cast."

"Thank you, T'Dania," Lucas replied stoically. "They aren't meant to be evil, and it will mess up the time line severely if they aren't fixed."

"Of course. Now... We must send our spirit friends back where they belong," T'Dania said gently.

Laby looked at Tiffani, his heart aching slightly at the thought of sending her away. She's already gone, he reminded himself. You're just helping her find the peace she deserves.

"Tiff..." He said softly.

"I love you, Laby," she told him. She kissed his cheek, and Laby was stunned to realize he could feel it, almost like the wings of a butterfly. "Be happy. Please. That's all I want for you... And Ben's really cute." She grinned at him.

"Thanks, Luv. You're pretty gorgeous yourself," Ben replied lightly.

"I love you, Tiff. I always will," Laby promised.

"I know. Try to find some peace, okay? I already have. Now it's your turn."

He hugged her, and even though she wasn't quite physical, he could feel her energy wrap around him. It was different than the last time he'd held her. She wasn't in pain. She wasn't scared. She radiated with light and was incredibly calm. She really was at peace, and knowing that, a small part of Laby finally began to heal.

B'DANNA
She was not the emotional type, but this was hard. Still, B'Danna knew she needed to help her mother send Flekt, Tiffani, and Draze back to the Underworld where they belonged. She took a deep breath and tried to brace herself for that.

"Take care of yourself, Kid," Lee said. "We miss you."

"Tiff... I love you so much, sweetie," Ronnie said, flinging her arms around her.

"I love you, too, Ron," Tiffani replied.

Roxy hugged her. "Thanks for saving my sister," she said.

"Anytime. She's my sister, too." Tiffani smiled before turning toward Cassie. "My favorite music teacher! It's nice to see you again."

"You, too, honey," Cassie replied. She looked incredibly sad.

Kaylen didn't say anything, but she offered Tiffani a quick hug.

"Stay safe, Cheerleader," B'Danna teased Tiffani sadly as it became her turn.

"Stay scary, Freak," Tiffani replied with a laugh.

Laby clung to Ben as B'Danna took her mother's hand. Go back where you belong, B'Danna thought. She could feel Tiffani's energy touching her own, and she focused on returning her to where she belonged. As Tiffani vanished, Laby had tears in his eyes, but he looked almost peaceful. Ben gently wiped Laby's tears away before anyone else seemed to notice them.

"Flekt..." B'Danna began.

"Give my love to my Ama," he replied stoically. "All is as it should be."

B'Danna and T'Dania began to send Flekt back. Go back where you belong, B'Danna thought. Flekt vanished quickly, and she knew he was exactly where he was meant to be.

Finally, B'Danna was forced to turn around and face Draze. He looked exactly the same. His eyes and smile were just as bright as ever. "Bea..." He began.

"I'm sorry," B'Danna replied. "I should have sensed the bullet coming."

"B'Danna of Eltar, don't you dare blame yourself. I made my choice, and it was the right one," he said firmly.

"You died, Draze! How is that the right choice?" She demanded.

"Because it saved my best friend," he replied. He hugged her, and B'Danna was stunned by the sudden touch. There were very few people she allowed to hug her, but Draze had always been at the top of the list.

"Your sister," she told him. "I recently found out we shared more than a birthday, Draze... We had the same father."

He smiled as if this wasn't the most shocking thing in the world. "Tedi always said we radiated like siblings," he replied, "and I've always considered you to be my sister. I love you."

"I love you, too," she whispered against his shoulder so that only he would hear it. She was feeling emotions she didn't want to feel, so she tried to hold them back.

Suddenly, Diamond flung themself between B'Danna and someone else. They cried out in pain as a boomerang connected to the top of their spine.

"Di!" Laby cried in alarm. He ran toward them with Ben following closely behind him.

B'Danna was about to attack Shelby when someone else interfered. T'Dania cast a powerful spell that slammed Shelby against the wall and pinned her there.

"How dare you attack my daughter?" She demanded.

Shelby's arrogance faltered as she looked at T'Dania with genuinely terror in her eyes. "I... I'm sorry," she replied. "Jezz told me to..." Tears of fear began streaming down her cheeks.

B'Danna expected her mother to kill Shelby, but T'Dania hesitated. "You were once so much more, Shelby Watkins," she said. "Why do you lower yourself to this? What changed inside of you to make you believe you are worth nothing more than being a minion to someone as pathetic as Jezzeff?"

"Are you going to kill me?" Shelby asked instead of answering. "Jezz says the Lazarus Rangers are immortal, but... But you're not like other people. I can feel how powerful you are."

"No, my darling," T'Dania replied after a moment. "I am not going to kill you. I am going to give you one last chance to save yourself. Now go. Do not target my daughter again." She released her. Shelby was still in tears as she fled the room.

"Why did you let her go?" B'Danna asked.

"I have my reasons," T'Dania replied. She moved toward Diamond.

Laby protectively stepped in front of them. "You've killed too many of my friends already, T'Dania," he said firmly.

"I'm not here to kill Diamond, my darling," T'Dania replied. She knelt beside Diamond, who was unable to move or protect themself. "You are not what I expected, Diamond Yizak. I misjudged you. Not only did you save my daughter, but I sense you would have done the same for anyone present. Had it only been my B'Danna, I would have been suspicious of your intentions, however I sense you truly are pure of heart. You are a good soul... Far too good for your bloodline. Allow me to assist you."

With that, T'Dania began to heal Diamond's injury. "Thank you, T'Dania," Diamond said weakly as they sat up.

"Are you okay?" Laby asked.

"I am now... My father nearly paralyzed me when I was a child," Diamond explained. "The boomerang hit the exact spot he damaged."

"My dad sucked, too," B'Danna replied. "Thanks for protecting me. I sensed Shelby a split second too late." She looked at Draze and felt guilty all over again. First, she hadn't sensed the bullet meant for her that ended up killing her best friend. Now, she hadn't realized Shelby was a looming threat. This time, someone she didn't really know had taken the attack meant for her, but it still bothered her.

"B'Danna..." Cassie said gently. She motioned toward Draze.

"Right," B'Danna replied. "It's time."

She began to focus on his energy. Go back where you belong, she thought. It hurt to realize she was sending Draze away, but she knew she had to do it.

Draze began to vanish, and B'Danna felt like her heart was tearing in half. Then, something odd happened. In an instant, a form appeared on the floor. She recognized it, but her brain couldn't process what she was seeing.

"Oh my God..." Cassie whispered.

Laby's breath caught as he stared at the body in shock. No one dared to speak.

T'Dania smiled before placing B'Danna's hands over the wound in his forehead. It began to heal immediately.

"What's happening?" B'Danna finally asked.

"What is meant to happen, my darling," T'Dania replied. "Now finish the job."

B'Danna was scared to believe it was possible, but she focused anyway, and soon, his chest began to rise and fall. Moments later, Draze opened his eyes.

"B'Danna..." He whispered in confusion.

She didn't dare to move until he sat up. "I don't understand..." She said.

"You resurrected him, my darling," T'Dania replied.

"But I don't know how to do that!" B'Danna protested.

"You asked me to unlock all of your necromancy. This is part of that precious gift."

"But he died."

"Yes. He had to, my darling, in order for you to learn to stand on your own and embrace your new powers. Your brother is your balance, B'Danna. He was always meant to return. As it turns out, you were meant to bring him back."

"But... I..." B'Danna shook her head. It was impossible. She had to be dreaming.

Draze flung his arms around her. "It's real," he said, guessing her thoughts as usual. "I'm back, B'Danna... I'm alive."

She hugged him tightly, too overwhelmed to speak. The one thing she'd wanted more than anything had just happened. Draze was back, and she was terrified he would vanish the second she released him.

"Draze..." Laby whispered. He moved closer to them before wrapping his arms around both B'Danna and Draze at once. "It is damn good to be able to hug you right now!"

"I missed this, too, Laby," Draze replied. Laby had tears in his eyes, but he was calm, and B'Danna knew they were tears of joy.

That was when it started to sink in. "You're alive," B'Danna said. "You're really back..."

"The Universe is beginning to right several wrongs that occurred over time," T'Dania replied. "Although Jezzeff turned them evil, the Lazarus Rangers now have a second chance at life. So does Zutan, and so does my precious Talon. Even Ben and his marvelous sister have returned. Slowly but surely, people are being given the chance to finish what they started or to get things right the second time around."

"Draze... Don't you dare die for me again. I'll resurrect you just to kill you myself," B'Danna said firmly.

"I'll do my best, Bea," he replied solemnly.

"You'll do better than that, my darling," T'Dania said. She pulled a talisman out of thin air and placed the cord around his neck. "Now, you will be safe. As long as you wear this talisman, anything which tries to fatally harm you shall fail. Your life is now tied directly to B'Danna's, as it was always meant to be. As long as she lives, so shall you."

B'Danna looked at her mother in surprise. "You mean he can't die unless I do?" She asked.

"Yes, my darling daughter. That is my gift to you both."

B'Danna didn't know what to say. It was Draze who humbly said, "Thank you." He offered T'Dania a warm smile before looking at B'Danna and asking, "Do you think Captain Smith will let me move back into the penthouse?"

"You're family. Of course he will," B'Danna replied. "And for now, you'll stay at the safe house with us here in Angel Grove."

"I do love a change of scenery every once in a while." He grinned, and for the first time in far too long, B'Danna didn't feel incomplete.

We're going to win, she thought. With Draze alive and back at her side, she knew there was nothing they could not accomplish.
