"Ethan's coming back tomorrow"
Sylvia Woods said.

Emily choked on her water and looked up at her,smiling sheepishly.

"Are you alright?" Sylvia asked.

Elsie patted her back, looking at Emily suspiciously.

"I'm fine. Just a little choke" Emily replied.

"We'll be upstairs if you need us" Elsie said to Sylvia.

"Alright".

Emily and Elsie sat on the bed talking about random stuff.

" Em"
Elsie called.

Emily looked at her intently. Elsie only called her Em when she had something important to say.

"Tell me Elsie".

" Bennett asked me on a date".     

Emily sprang up suddenly. She squealed like an excited child.

"Aww that's so cute"

"Well, we don't want to rush things now so we'll start off as friends and see where it leads us"

Elsie said,blushing a bit.

"Gosh! Bestie's blushing. That's so cute"
Emily said,playfully pulling Elsie's cheeks and teasing her.

"And what about you and loverboy?'

Elsie asked winking teasingly.

" Well,it's complicated "

Emily said ,lowering her eyes a bit.

"What happened?"
Elsie asked.

"Nothing much actually. It's just that I can't rush into another relationship just like that. And besides I don't even know if he really loves me or not"

"But he likes you"
Elsie said.

"Like is different from love Elsie. Like is not enough. And besides Ethan is a ladies' man. Girls are all over him. I can't risk that. And I don't have that much strength to play the role of a jealous,revengeful girlfriend who goes all the way out to keep other girls away from him. I've got to tell him when he comes back so he wouldn't have to blame me for sending him mixed signals. I've got to quench this growing spark before it sets our emotions ablaze".

Elsie sighed.

" Just know that I'll always support you in every decision you make. I'll always be here for you"
Elsie reassured her.

"Yeah. I know that. Thanks".
Emily said and hugged her.

" At what time will Bennett pick you up?"
Emily asked.

"2 pm"

"Aaaaaaaaarrrrgh...nooo!!!" Emily squealed.

"What?"
Elsie asked as if she had just seen a ghost.

"You'll be late. It's 1:40 pm. Hurry and get dressed"

Emily said dramatically. 

"Drama queen"
Elsie said and rolled her eyes.
She stepped in the shower for a quick bath.

Emily started throwing clothes in her direction as soon as she got out of the bathroom.

"Chill Emily. You're overreacting"

"Oh really. My best friend's getting late for her first date in a long while and she's telling me to calm down. Wow!".

" It's just a date not a business meeting or an appointment. Cut the drama".

"Ever heard of first impression counts?"
Emily said and shot some death-worthy glares in Elsie's direction as Elsie returned the 'favour' with a fake grin and eye batting.

"Get dressed. Sit down and let me apply your makeup"
Emily said.

The makeup had a light theme.

A light shade of everything.

A thin layer of mascara.
A light shade of maroon eye shadow.
A thin line of black eye pencil.
A light shade of reddish-brown dry lipstick.

Elsie finally slipped on a sleeveless white and red striped jumpsuit that reached a little under her knees.

She knocked it off with a pair of 2 inched brown high heels.

She checked her phone. It was exactly 2pm.

Just them,her phone buzzed.

Hi. I'm at the door.

Bennett!

She hugged Emily and headed for the door.
Emily was right behind her and shut the door when they left.

She went upstairs.
Apart from her, only the butler,the chef and the security guard were at home.

Just as she jumped onto her bed, her phone buzzed.

I'll be home tomorrow. I want to tell you something.

She sighed and hoped everything would turn out just fine.
