Chapter 19- Dan's POV
It was the middle of the night when a knock came at my door. Phil barely even moved, so I quietly got up and got dressed, and walked downstairs.
I was greeted by one of the Judge's workers, who clearly was not happy by having to come get me in the middle of the night.
We walked in silence to the court house, which I was grateful for. I couldn't stop thinking. Did I make the right choice? Is this right? Is there even a right or wrong decision here?
We finally made it to he courthouse, where I stood in front of the doors and took a deep breathe before walking in.
This is it.
I walked inside and time seemed to slow as I reached the doors that would lead me to where I would make my final decision.
Either way, there would be something lost.
Something gained.
Something forever taken away.
Something forever given.
I opened the doors and walked straight to where the judge was, and took a seat. He smiled at me.
"Hello, Daniel."
"Hi."
"Have you made your decision?"
"Yes."
"And are you sure about it? Because once it's made, there's no going back."
"I'm as sure as I can be. I know I lose something either way."
The Judge nodded, and I told him my decision.
"I think you made the best decision." He told me.
And I left, ready to face eternity with my decision, hoping I had made the right one.
Please, tell me I did the right thing.
