Chapter 15- Phil's POV
I smiled and straightened Dil's bow tie. Dil smiled back at me nervously, his hands slightly shaky.
"You excited, Dil?"
"Of course! Nervous, but excited."
I pulled out my phone. "Let me take a picture! I can't believe you're getting married, Dilly, all grown up now!" My eyes started to water.
Dan came in and smile, and I could see his eyes getting misty, too. "I can't believe that you're already 25, getting married. Having a family of your own."
Dil rolled his eyes. "You're so sappy, Dad."
Dan laughed. "Well, of course we are! You're getting married!"
The wedding planner we had hired poked her head into the room we were in. "Dil? Are you ready?"
Dil nodded, and followed her out, taking his position. I turned and smiled at Dan. "Remember our wedding day?"
Dan pulled me into a hug, mumbling into my neck. "Of course I do, just like it was yesterday! At this same church."
"You looked amazing in your suit, just like you do now." I gave Dan a quick kiss. "We need to go get our seats now."
Dan followed me into the church sanctuary, and we sat in the front row, watching as the last of the guests trickled in. The pianist started playing, and thus the wedding began. Finally, the bride came out, and I glanced at Dil, who was wearing a huge smile looking at May.
I always knew they would end up together; best friends make the best lovers, Dan and I were proof of that.
I watched as the priest began speaking, watched the way Dil and May looked at each other, both smiling, the excitement practically radiating off of them. Vows exchanged, rings put on each other's fingers.
"You may now kiss the bride."
Dil practically attacked May, and it was adorable, how happy they were.
Then the reception.
First dance, to their favorite song. I found myself thinking of my own wedding to Dan, our first dance. Much clumsier than Dil and May's- Dan almost fell over, and I tripped multiple times- yet incredibly romantic.
Once their dance ended, everyone else started dancing. I turned to Dan, reaching out my hand. "Care to dance, Daniel?"
"Of course, Philip."
And we danced with everyone else, although we were considerably worse at dancing than everyone else. The night ended far too soon, and Dil came up and gave us each a hug.
"I'm so proud of you, Dil." I told him.
"We both are." Dan said.
"Thanks, dads." Dil smiled proudly, and then May came over, lacing her hand in Dil's.
Dan and I both gave her a hug. "Welcome to the family, May- officially." Dan told her, and she smiled.
"Thank you, Dan." She looked at Dil, and they both smiled at each other. They wouldn't stop smiling, of course.
We talked for a few minutes, before they left, and Dan and I headed home.
Dan was humming the song of our first dance at our own wedding, dancing around our bedroom as he did so. I came up behind him, and joined him in dancing.
"I love you, Dan."
"I love you too, Phil."
