Chapter 8. Sutabaa

Hey guys! A lot has happened since I last updated. I started a new job and it's been great. I lost a family member and that was awful. It's all been a bit of a whirlwind but life goes on I guess.

Todomatsu's pov

I was cleaning one of the tables later on my late shift when I heard the door open. "Good evening! Welcome to Sutab--" My smile widened as I saw Mia enter in from the rain. "Hey Mia! What are you doing here?" I said, giving her my full attention. "Well you said you worked here, I was on my way home and thought why not spend some time with you?" She said as she closed her umbrella and put it in the rack next to the door. "If that's okay with you? I just assumed it would be pretty quiet at this time."

"No you're completely right! I finish in the next hour if you wanna wait for me? I'm mostly just cleaning up." She nodded enthusiastically before asking if she could order a coffee. I nodded and rushed behind the counter to make it. As I was doing so I noticed she didn't look as happy as she usually did. Her usual happy expression had been replaced with a slight frown.

"Mia you look down. Are you okay?" She looked up, her eyes widening slightly before looking away awkwardly. "Just a stressful day at work mixed with a few other things just got me feeling a bit down." My expression turned to a sad one as she looked back at me. "Can't be positive every day." She laughed solemnly and I felt my heart pound. "In fact, that's kinda part of the reason I wanted to come here. You and your brothers always find a way to make me feel better." I went red from her words and I tried to focus on finishing her coffee. WE cheer her up?! I mean I get me...BUT THE OTHERS TOO?

I finished the coffee, making sure the presentation was pretty before I passed it over. She went to grab her purse but I quickly stopped her. "It's on me." She asked if I was sure and I nodded with a wink. "Thanks Tottyyyy." She smiled and I sighed at that cursed nickname. "Which one taught you that?"

"All of them." She giggled before grabbing her coffee and sitting at a table. As I mopped the floors I talked to her, trying to cheer her up and it seemed to be working as her face became happier with each second. In the back of my mind, I was still thinking of what we found out from Jyushimatsu-niisan the other day. I wonder who she lives with? A friend? A BOYFRIEND?  My face scrunched up at the thought. She had never mentioned any sort of relationship before so we just assumed she didn't have one. The sound of a coffee cup hitting the table brought me back into the real world.

"That coffee was nice, though I do have to say I make it better." I looked over with a cocky grin. "Oh yeah? I'll keep you to that Mia. Next time I get the chance I'll come and try the coffee at the cafe you work in." She let out a quiet laugh before everything went silent again. Her face seemed to go into a frown again and I wondered why until I noticed what she was wearing.

I placed the mop back into the bucket and turned over to her, my hands landing on my hips. "Are you cold?" I asked, noticing how she only had a thin jumper on. "I'll be fine." Her words said she was fine but her body was saying otherwise. Even here in the shop, she was shivering. "You're clearly not! Here one sec!" I rushed out into the staff room, ignoring Mia's protests, and grabbed my grey hoodie with my pink Matsu symbol on from my locker. As I was about to go back out I realised that I was about to give her my hoodie. Isn't this what boyfriends do for girlfriends?

I silently cheered before going back to the front and giving her the hoodie. "Here. You're cold and I bet you'd look adorable in my hoodie." She tries to protest but I simply reassure her I won't need it. I blush as she nods and starts to pull the hoodie over her head.  "That better?" I asked and she nodded, a smile on her face.

Just seeing her in my hoodie was making me want to scream out. She looked so cute! And she was in MY CLOTHES.

I looked around, making sure there were no other customers or any of my co-workers lurking around before grabbing my phone from my pocket.

"Wanna get a picture?" I asked, holding my phone up. "Sure!" She jumped up and stood next to me so our shoulders were touching. I held the phone up and did a peace sign as I snapped the picture. "See! You look great in my hoodie!" I said as I showed her the picture. "Make sure you send me that Todomatsu!" I nod and silently set it as my home screen picture.

After I clocked out we both stepped outside and let out a sigh of relief as the rain had stopped. I was hoping we could've shared an umbrella...

"Here I'll walk you home." I offered and she nodded. I started leading her in the direction of her home, happy that it wasn't too difficult to get to. Should I ask her who she lives with? Or is that weird to ask?

"Todomatsu what's on your mind?" She asked with a concerned expression. "E-E-ehhh..." I looked back at her beautiful chestnut eyes and gulped. "Mia...do you live alone?"  She looked back at me with a blank face before answering nonchalantly. "No I live with my best friend. I thought you knew?" Somehow the words 'best friend' put me at ease. She mentioned her best friend every now and then but apart from that, I didn't know much about her. The flat was in a visual distance now and I thought with this precious time I could figure out more. "How long have you known each other?"

"Since we were ten. I was such a brat back then." We climbed the stairs and she pulled out her keys and turned to me. "Wanna meet him?"

"Him?" I blurted out without thinking.

"Yeah him." She turned the key and entered the home. Instantly I could hear some music coming from the room at the end. That's the room we saw when Ichimatsu caught her... "Yo Jax! I'm home." She took off her shoes and allowed me inside, shutting the door behind me. She went over to the door and peeked her head into the room whilst I stayed in the doorway taking off my shoes. "Oh bloody hell man come on!" I heard her voice from down the hall, not knowing what she said as she spoke English but from the tone, I could tell she was slightly annoyed. She whispered something to him before closing the door quickly. "Haha... yeah you wouldn't wanna see him right now." She laughed stiffly with her back to the door.

"Is he okay?" I questioned, getting more and more curious about this mysterious best friend. I don't think I've ever been so interested in meeting a guy! I'm so curious!!!

"Yeah he's just feeling a bit sick right now." She sat down on the couch and I slowly walked over, keeping my distance from the door she had just exited. I don't want to be anywhere near there if he's sick!

"Here there's a picture of him from when we moved into this place if that's any help?" She pointed to a frame that was next to the TV. "That wasn't there last time." I pointed out as I approached the frame. "Yeah that idiot in there knocked it over weeks ago and broke the old frame. Only just got around to replacing it."

I looked at the picture. It was of Mia and a guy stood in front of the door of this flat. He had messy black hair with a small amount of hair on his chin and some stretchers in his ears. He was wearing a baggy shirt with the sleeves rolled up, revealing some nasty scars covering his arms all over. I looked over at Mia who was next to him. She looked a little bit younger, her hair long but clearly not as long as it was when we first met. She was wearing her glasses along with a grey shirt and some knee-length shorts. She looked so happy.

I sneakily pulled my phone out and snapped a picture before turning around. "Mia you look so cute in this!" She laughed and threw a pillow at me. "Shut up I don't." I laughed and chucked the pillow back before physically picking up the frame and looking over it again. "I can see that look Totty and I know what you're thinking." I looked up startled. "H-How do you know what I'm thinking!?"

"Because it's the first thing anyone says when they see a picture of Jax with his sleeves up. Or more like it's the thing they so clearly want to ask about but dodge cause it's awkward." I looked at her apologetically and she smiled. "Don't worry he's better now than when those happened. That was a long time ago."

"I can hear you ya know!" An ominous voice laughs from the room and Mia jumps up. She stomps over to the door and opens it quickly. "One sec Todomatsu." She slams the door and faint whispers come from the room. I try and listen in to see what I can hear over the low music.

"Why tonight.....eat that thing? Yes, that is one of them! Jax...prefer if they don't see..." The music wasn't helping me but I knew from experience that if I went closer to the door I could be caught. "Because I don't know...they'll think!  Look just...I'm not saying you can't..." It went quiet for a second, only the music playing until a low muffled voice spoke. I couldn't make out what they said but laughter erupted from Mia. "Okay tomorrow you arse!" She giggled as she slipped out the door and closed it, a large sigh escaping her.

"I'm sorry but I need to take care of him..." She looked down whilst messing with her hands, clearly not wanting to directly tell me to leave. "It's okay Mia. I should be getting home anyway."  I said before standing up. Even though I wanted to stay with her I didn't want to be here if he was ill in any way. We walked over to the door and I put my shoes back on.

"Sorry Todomatsu. I really wanted to hang out more..." She gave me a sad look, her wide eye's rivalling mine in cuteness. The revelation that she wanted to spend more time with me made me feel all warm inside. She looked down and her eyes focused on the sleeves of my hoodie that was still on her.

"Here I'll give you your hoodie back!" She started tugging the thing off her head, her jumper underneath pulling up just enough for me to see her belly.

Her...bellybutton...Oh

My face went blank as I tried to calm my perverted brain but before I could calm myself I noticed something. There was a nasty bruise on her belly which was only slightly visible. As she got the hoodie off her jumper went back down and the bruise was covered up once again.

"Here you go! Thanks for letting me borrow it." Her smile calmed me though of course, I was still going to ask. "What was that bruise on your belly?" She looked at me, slight shock and confusion on her face before she pulled up her jumper and looked down at her stomach once again, instantly finding the bruise.

"Oh. I must have knocked myself on something." She brushed it off and I couldn't help but just stare at her belly. She wasn't thin but she was wasn't fat either. More...thicc...And I liked it.

"Want me to kiss it better?" I winked, a sly grin on my face. She looked up with a bright red face and quickly dropped her jumper back down. "T-Todomatsu!" She squeaked and I laughed, causing her to pout.

She thinks I'm joking but I genuinely want to kiss her stomach...

When I got home I showed my brothers the picture I took along with telling them the whole situation I'd just experienced. Well..apart from that last bit.

Usually, I wouldn't tell them anything but I needed to talk about my findings with someone. "And she said best friend?" Ichimatsu said using his fingers to pull on his earlobes. He'd clearly noticed the stretchers Jax had in the picture. "Yeah, apparently they've known each other since they were children."

"Wait a second...EHHH!!" Karamatsu said when he got a look. "We bumped into him on the stairs when we all went to her flat! Remember?" They all took a second look. "Oh yeah! I remember now! He looks a bit different but it's definitely him!" Choromatsu said as he remembered back to that day. "Now I really want to meet him!!" Jyushimatsu yelled out in a whiny voice, fidgeting in his spot.

"Let's do that tomorrow!!" Osomatsu said with a grin and we all nodded.

Ooohh new character? OooOoO

Until next time bye- Jude
