Chapter 1
The air was warm in Equestria, as a familiar bright-Orange-maned Pegasus flew around the sky for some practice drills with the newbies. "Whiplash, keep your flying balanced! Cloud-Dancer, keep up with the rest!" Spitfire barked orders at the ponies, as Soarin was in the locker room eying a certain mare he had a slight crush on. Rainbow Crash-I mean, Rainbow Dash, who'd beaten multiple academy records, saved the Wonderbolts (And her friend Rarity) from falling from the clouds and saved Equestria a million times. He dared not to let her know, he was brave but not that brave. Rainbow kept having to make the first moves, like asking him if he was busy (which he always pretended he was) or if he wanted to grab a snack at the mess hall. Nothing really worked. He was too terrified to say yes. Adding to his anxiety, was they had a show coming up 3 days later. I know I know, he's done this millions of times-he should be used to it, but anypony would get performance anxiety while flying and doing stunts in front of a giant crowd of ponies. What if I mess up? What if I say something wrong to Dash, or Spitfire, or even Fleetfoot? What if I fall? What if- Soarin's thoughts were cut short by the slamming of a locker. Rainbow Dash made sure to be extra careful not to let anypony see what was inside her locker. As she has a collection of photos of her with Soarin; either hanging out or talking. She wasn't too shy to tell him she liked him though-she was just in denial that she did. She was never a real "gushing over a crush" pony. She never really dated any stallions. The training drills were drawn to a close, and the ponies were allowed to go to their homes/dorms.
Something didn't sit right with Rainbow Dash that night. She wasn't thinking about flying or Soarin or academy records. She was thinking more about Twilight. Twilight has grown a lot since she first met her. Her mane has become a bit longer, she's become taller, she's still interested in studies but she had way more friends than before we came to Ponyville, she's a headmistress now.. Dash kept blushing at her thoughts. She didn't find much sleep that night. But she did start to have a clue as to why she never got along with many stallions...
