Chapter 11: Meeting the Famous Chocolatier
Erica's POV:
I woke up early in the morning with full of excitement. Today's the day that we're going inside the chocolate factory! I can't wait to meet Mr. Wonka. I wonder what he looks like? Oh, I can only imagine. And I bet he'll be a great and kind chocolatier.
I quickly make my way into my wardrobe and started searching for something that looks rather fine and simple, because I do not to wear a dress. What? I may be a pretty face, but come on, I'll wear a dress when I'm at a party or something. Once I have found a simple but nice looking outfit, a smile of satisfaction tugged across my lips, and then I started to get dressed.
Once I'm dressed, I look at myself in the mirror and check every inch of my look. "Erica, time to go sweetie!" I heard Aunt said behind the door as she knocks three times. "Coming Aunt Bucket!" I yelled as I quickly sprayed myself with a 'Body Fantasies signature cotton candy' perfume, then I went out of my room.
Charlie and I hugged our grandparents' goodbye with a kiss on their cheeks. I can't wait to see the factory and the famous chocolatier but I need to calm myself down before I completely squeal with excitement and jump with joy. "Now, I want you to watch your cousin closely, okay?" Aunt said as I nodded, "Good, and Charlie, stick with your cousin and don't do anything foolish inside, understand?" "Yes, mum." Said Charlie. "That's our boy." Aunt said with a warm smile.
"Now go on you two, and join them." Uncle said, pointing at the four other kids along with their mums and dads. "Have fun!" Aunt added. "We sure will Aunt Bucket, and see you later." I said as Charlie and I gave Uncle and Aunt a kiss on their cheeks before we joined the others standing in front of the gate. I look beside me and it was Augustus Bloop, busy guzzling down his Wonka bar with chocolate smeared all over his mouth. I just smiled at him and his mother as well before looking away. How marvellous seeing them in person, well not really, some kids here are swine to nature.
"Daddy, I want to go in." I heard someone complained. I looked to my right, and it was that spoiled brat, Veruca Salt. Mr. Sault glances at his watch and said, "It's 9:59, sweetheart." "Make time go faster." Said Veruca aggressively. I wanted to face palm myself, I swear I just want to hit that kid in the head for being rude.
"Say, Charlie, do you think Mr. Wonka will remember Grandpa Joe if we ask him about him?" I asked my cousin. "I don't know, maybe." Charlie replied, shrugging. "Yeah, I reckon so too, because it had been years since he last saw grandpa." I said as Charlie nodded when suddenly, the gates opened. Charlie and I looked at each other with excitement grins drawn on our faces. This is it! Our dreams come into absolute reality! Oh, I can't wait!
"Please enter!" Said an amplifies voice over the loudspeakers. The kids and their parents quickly make their way through the gates unlike Charlie and I. 'Geez, what a bunch of impatient people! They don't need to act like that. Besides, it's not like the factory's going to disappear into thin air.' I thought with a head shake while my cousin and I follow behind and halted along them.
"Come forward!" The amplified voice to the loudspeakers said which we did so. "Close the gates!" Then the gates slams shut. "Dear visitors, it is my great pleasure to welcome to my humble factory. Who am I? Well.." The heavy metal doors disappeared, and a red curtain ascends, revealing a set of mechanical puppets. Then it started performing a musical number-- a welcome song.
"Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka
The amazing chocolateer
Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka
Everybody give a cheer! (Hooray!)
He's modest, clever, and so smart,
He barely can restrain it.
With so much generosity,
There is no way to contain it
To contain it
To contain, to contain, to contain!
Hooray!
Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka
He's the one that you're about to meet
Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka
He's a genius who just can't be beat
The magician and the chocolate wiz
The best darn guy who ever lived
Willy Wonka here he iiiiiiiiiiiis!"
I honestly can't help but dance to the rhythm of the song a little. I'll admit, the song is pretty catchy. Then, a throne, with no one sitting in it as the sparklers go off. And that's when my smile disappeared, because the spark's heat behind, the mechanical puppets malfunctioned and run down. They started melting away.
While all of us are utterly confuses about what just happened, we didn't notice someone has entered, we just heard giggling and clapping. We turned on right to see a man in a suit, hat, and goggles behind Mr. Salt. I grinned from excitement and my eyes twinkles from excitement and admiration, it's him! Mr. Wonka!
"Wasn't that magnificent? I was getting a little worried it was sort of dodgy in the middle part, but then, that finale! Wow!" Mr. Wonka said as he makes his way in front of us, wearing a bright and friendly smile. "Who are you?" Violet Bearuregarde sneered. Is she joking? Blimey, how could she even recognize him when the answer was obvious?
"He's Mr. Willy Wonka!" I said with full of respect and warmth in my voice. "Really?" Charlie asked, still couldn't believe it. I looked at him and chuckled, "Yes?" There is a long, awkward pause as we just stared at Mr. Wonka before he finally spoke. "Good morning, starshine, the earth says hello!" Mr. Wonka greeted. I put my hand over my mouth and giggled. It is the best I have ever heard. He then pulls out some cue cards and started reading what's printed/written on it. "Dear guests, greetings! Welcome to the factory! I shake you warmly by the hand." He extended his hand out, but I realized no one would shake it, what a bunch of rude jerks. So, I shook his hand as he smiled, seemed more relaxed.
But when I shook his hand, a spark connected and I don't know why. "My name is Willy Wonka." "Then shouldn't you be up there?" Said Veruca Salt rudely, pointing at the throne. 'What a ninny!' I thought with a head shake. "Well, I couldn't very well watch the show from up there, now, could I, little girl?" Said Mr. Wonka.
"Mr. Wonka's got a point though." I said. Mr. Wonka looks at me and smiled charmingly, making me smile as well. "I'm so glad that someone here understands." Mr. Wonka said as he puts the due cards underneath his coat pocket. "Oh, uh, Mr. Wonka?" I said, "Yes?" "I wonder if you remember my Grandpa Joe, he used to work here in the factory with you." I said as his smile disappeared and turned into a disgusted frown.
"Was he one of those despicable spies who every day tried to steal my life's work and sell it to those parasitic copycat candy making cads?" I shook my head and said, "No, sir. My Grandpa Joe is a faithful and loyal worker for you, I swear." "That's wonderful then! I hope he's going well!" Said Mr. Wonka smiling brightly again at me as it lingers which explain apology which I accepted by smiling as well. "Great! Now let's get a move on, kids!" He beckoned as we did so then lead us inside the factory.
Willy Wonka's POV:
After I greeted my guests, I then took them inside of my factory while I can't help but look back at the girl who'd asked me about her grandfather. I am not going to lie, she already gained my interest and attention, and she by far, was the most beautiful woman I've ever seen-- that's the reason why I can't staring at her intensely in admiration when I first saw her, I am thankful for these goggles of mine, preventing her from seeing it.
The way her chocolate hair swayed by the gust of the cold wind. The way those dreamy chocolate eyes of her stares at me like it's electrocuting me in deep seduction. And the way her small, sweet, innocent, melody, and beautiful voice sounds like, it's so relaxing through my ears like music.
It's just beautiful.
And it may sound crazy, but I think I'd already developed feelings for her. I think it was love at first sight due of the sparks of admiration which was thrusting against the pit of my stomach like butterflies. I sighed silently with a great heat feeling of enthusiasm making me smile. But then, a realisation strikes me.
'Oh, what am I thinking! I can't fall in love with her for she's a married woman, explaining the little boy along with her. What a shame.' I thought in disappointment as I shook it away, and then break my glance to that angel. I can't believe that I will fall for a married woman. Well, was it my fault then?
But I just can't help but wonder how young she was for being a parent. But poppycock, I almost forgot that a lot of parents these days are young. Oh, what a lucky lad her husband is. Oh, I just hope I don't get distracted with her in the tour, but seems impossible to not to.
