Chapter Sixteen

"What do you mean you think you are adopted?" I asked and she handed me a piece of paper and her baby picture. I looked at the picture on the paper and back at Emily's picture. There really is a resemblance.

"So if you are adopted. And I am saying if.... Then does that mean you are Chloe's sister?" Liam asked. Emily nodded nervously and looked down at the ground. That means she is the president's daughter as well.

"We so can use this against the Governor." I said and Emily snapped her head up to me.

"What do I even say to my mom? I know her for sixteen years and how can I have another mom? How couldn't she tell me?" Emily said and tears filled her eyes.

"Just tell her you found your file. And that you want answers. I am sure she will tell you." Liam said and hugged Coral.

"I wonder if Chloe knew she had a sister." I asked. I really wonder that because Chloe seemed to know everything. But if she doesn't know about this, then she will know she has a sister that will protect her. I wished I had Ems as a sister. Hell, I don't even have siblings.

What if we all have things about us that we don't even know? Or what about our parents? What if our parents have secrets that we don't know? It's just a matter of time before all secrets spill out and we are left on the side of the road, scared shitless.
