Chapter Fourteen

After the questioning that happened earlier, Colton could not stop asking me questions. I am not sure if Chloe would want me to tell him. Hell, for all I know Colton could be just using me. But I doubt that because we love each other. Mom told me that Colton could stay the night with me tonight. I didn't want to be alone and Emily and Coral's parents made them go home for the night. Right now Colton and I are cuddled up on my bed. I have to tell him about everything. But I am not sure if I can just yet. Every time he asked questions on what happened with Abby, I just ignore him and talk about something else.

"I need to talk to you." I say nervously. He looked over at me from where he is laying on my bed.

"That sounds scary." He chuckled nervously. I frowned and sighed.

"I want to tell you.... About..... Abby..." I said nervously. He jumped up and looked at me. Well he is really excited.

"You have to promise to not tell anyone. This ONLY stays between me, you, Emily and Coral. Understood?" I asked and eye browed him. He nodded and put his pinky into mine.

"The night that Ems, Coral, Abby and I had a sleep over.... She was crying. Her best friend was murdered. Abby's real name is Chloe Heart. The governor of Nevada's daughter. Well the governor is not really her father.... See, Chloe found out things that the governor did. And when she confronted him, he accused her of murdering her father's best friend. You probably seen in the news about Chloe. Her dad hires people to do his dirty work. Including, killing people who finds out things about him. Chloe's best friend was murdered, and so was her grandma. Which is the old lady in the apartment complex. She had to run. She thought she was safe here. But now that her best friend was murdered, she had to run. She wanted Emily and Coral and I to prove her innocence. But when we found out that her birth father is actually The President of the United States, everything turned to hell. Chlo said that to not trust anyone because cops work for her father, and other people are undercover. We believed her because this cop know all our names somehow. And that is only one way for that to happen. You have to promise me that you won't say anything. Just for Chloe's safety. Life is like hell for her. But she keeps fighting it. But we have to be careful also. Because if not, we will end up like Chloe's best friend and grandma." I informed. He looks at me in shock. He doesn't say a word. He just stares at me. There was a few minutes of silence before he finally said something.

"I seen that girl all over the news..... And now that I know, I will be at risk just like all three of you are. Meaning that I could be a suspect just like you are?" He asked. I nodded.

"It means that, but it does not necessarily mean you will be called in for questioning. But, they will find out another way to take you down." I informed. He nodded.

"We will protect each other. That is all that matters right now. If we have each other, we will be perfectly fine." Colton says and crashes his lips into mine. His soft, warm plum lips feel so amazing against mine. The way they are together feels like they are meant to be. There was a knock on my door and I pulled away from Colton as my brother walked in.

"Hey, can we talk?" My brother asked. I nodded and told Colton I would be right back. I walked behind my brother and closed my door behind me.

"What's up?" I asked. I laid my back against my door and waited for him to reply. "Did you guys really have something to do with Abby's disappearance?" He asked me. Really? Did my own brother just ask that?

"Of course not! I can't believe that you are accusing me. You are my older brother. From all people, I would never thought that you would be the one to believe the cops." I shook my head and walked back into my room, slamming the door behind me. I can't believe my own blood accused me!!! How can he do that to me?!

"What's wrong?" Colton asked me. "Cooper basically accused me of making Abby disappear." I rolled my eyes and laid back down next to Colton. Colton wrapped his arms around me and kissed my neck.

"He is just thinking like everyone else would. That is all." Colton explained. I just nodded and tried to go to sleep.
