China "Girl"
There's love roaming around in L.A. tonight. Only for the few lucky people who aren't Jonathan Dennis.
"You coming out with us Delirious?" His best friend Luke asks. His hands around Marcel's hips. The blue eyed fellow rolls his eyes and chuckles, "Why are you guys going out when you can just fuck here?" With his remark the door slams. Jonathan sighs and stands up off the couch. He stomps over to the fridge to grab yet another beer. He looks at the man on the bottle, "You're probably the only love I'll get tonight." A little maniac chuckle escapes his pink lips. Lips that weren't going to get kissed tonight. He sighs again. Plopping down on the couch, he spots the beautiful view out the window. The busy streets filling with happy hour. For bars anyway. All the signs bright and colorful, unlike his insides. He laughs again, but retreats back to a frown.
A sign finally catches his blue orbs. He tilts his head at the familiar artist. "David Bowie?" The name so beautiful on his lips. He wanted to cry, cry for David Bowie. "He died so young." Delirious's mood dropped even more. Now he was more of a tragic clown. He turned around at the sign again. "Maybe I should check it out. Maybe I'll meet someone there." Jonathan's hopes shot through the roof. The man grabbed his blue hoodie, the apartment keys, and made his way down the street.
The place looked like an old theater. The sign sticking out. Jonathan could see it clearer now. "David Bowie themed tonight, hmph." His pale hand scratches the back of his dark scalp. "Anything for Bowie." He sucks in and charges into the old building. The poor clown didn't notice the small words above the "David Bowie" one. In small, dim letters it said, "Club". Not just any club, a dance club. On stage. Where you're the spectator. Kinda like stripping, but there's a little more clothing.
Jonathan listens to the ending of David Bowie's "Let's Dance" as a man in a tight red dress strides back behind the curtains. Jonathan was a little confused as to where he ended up. He wanted to turn back, but there were too many people filling in behind him. A voice came in over from the DJ booth, but Delirious could only make out the last part of the announcement. "-ong!" Jonathan eventually gives in and leans against the wall, waiting. The beginning of "China Girl" plays. The stereotypical Chinese theme starts the song, and a little guitar enters. "Little china girl," Delirious hums and gets a few stares. A woman, no man. Jonathan couldn't tell. They looked as white as a ghost. Only the red lipstick and light pink cheeks stook out on their face. Their chocolate brown eyes found the audience and they continued down the catwalk. A long, glamours dress fell down behind them. The dress had sparkly red sleeves, then a blue outline, and the rest of the dress was different shades of purple. The shade of purple changed every time they moved to the music. On top of their jet black hair was a flower crowns with lavender strands braided together, and pink petals here and there. Their chest was very flat, so it had to be a man. Their jawline was very strong too. It had to be a man. Not that Jonathan was paying close attention or anything.
The china "girl" started gracefully moving side to side. His hands gracefully reaching the stars above him. The stars that were also trapped inside his brown eyes. He got to the end of the stage and moved a little sexier. For a man, they had really curvy hips. Delirious dug his nails into his thigh. He shouldn't be so aroused. He was too excited though. The rush of liking another man. Wanting to feel his body against his. He's never thought about it with his friends though. None of them. It was almost disgusting. Like dating your brother.
The dancer meets Jonathan's gaze and both of their heartbeats go into sync. Their eyes are like laser beams at each other. It hurts to look, but it's also hard to look away. Jonathan didn't understand his sudden urge to jump up on stage and taste that lipstick on his lips. The man grabs his flower crown and tosses it towards Delirious. Without hesitation Delirious stretches his trembling hands out and catches it. He cradles it like a baby, not wanting to drop it. The dancer winks and finally removes his gaze from the blue eyes. He strides back slowly. His hips going back and forth. He turns around once more and finds Jonathan's gaze, which has never left his body. The man closes his eyes and throws his head back. His hand reaches at his neck and his finger glides down it. He puts his head down and strides to the left, leaving a love struck man out in the audience.
Delirious pushes through the crowds of people. He doesn't mind the growls and curses he gets. He needs to get backstage. The "exit" signs catch his eye. The red curtain is to the left. Jonathan is drenched in nerves and excitement. He reaches for the curtain, but is pushed away. He looks up at a tall, dark skinned, bodyguard. "No hornies allowed." He spits. Delirious frowns. Was he really just desperate for sex? Or did he want to get to know this china "girl" and fall in love with him.
He trudges back to the crowd. He plays with the little flower crown. He sniffs it and consumes the smell of the China Girl. The China Girl he'll never meet. His heart broken into small pieces. Suddenly, they were picked up by a tap on his shoulder. He pivots around quickly to be met with the same brown eyes he was gazing at earlier. The rest of his makeup was off. All of it, but the red lipstick. His skin looked so soft. His body looked so hard. He was also really short. Delirious let the chuckle escape from his lips. His pale hands slap his mouth. The China "Girl" laughs and smiles. It's the most astonishing thing in the world. "What were you laughing at?" The man rubs his arm. The dress gone. Only a t-shirt and shorts were on his skin now. "You just, uh, missed some makeup." Both of the men chuckle at Delirious's remark. "I was actually saving it for you." The china "girl" grabs Delirious's neck and pulls him into his face. Their lips connect and Delirious nearly collapses. His lips tastes like cherries. Cherries that were freshly picked. They felt like cotton candy. As soon as it comes out of the machine. On the other hand, the china girl loved the roughness of Jonathan's rough lips. He had a habit of picking at them with his teeth. They tasted like alcohol, but a little fruit kick to it, like kiwi. The china girl smiles against Jonathan's lips. Jonathan pulls away and the China Girl sets his forehead on Jonathan's. "So, who's name will I be moaning tonight?" He asks, and Jonathan smirks. "Jonathan." He smiles. "Who's name will I be falling in love with?" The China Girl smiles gleamingly, "Evan, Evan Fong to be exact. Or if you have a nickname in mind." Jonathan's pearly whites peek out from under his pink lips, "How about my little China Girl?"
