The fire licked up the wooden logs as they sat around the campfire in front of the house of Jungkook's grandmother. Finally, they get to sit down after all the hard work searching for firewood and carrying them all the way back to the barn.

Yoongi absolutely hated the idea but Jungkook's grandmother insisted that they'll get the real experience of camping when they harvest the resources themselves. They can't say they the experience's been fun though. Taehyung had to carry Hoseok all the way back to the barn everytime they saw a bug and there's a ton of them. Hoseok doesn't want to be left alone in the barn either even if Jungkook's grandmother was there.

"Fucking finally." Yoongi sighed. "I get the jist of camping, it's having back ache and splinters in your hand."

"I'm hungry~" Taehyung grumbled, patting his stomach.

"Are we going to sleep out here?" Hoseok asks, scooting closer to fire to warm himself.

Jungkook sighs, "We're going to sleep in halmeoni's house, hyung. We just agreed that we're going to make a campfire."

An owl hoots from a distance, past the thick layer of darkness. Branches and bushes rumble against the whipping wind as the stars twinkle along with the bright moon.

"I have to admit though, the sky is pretty." Yoongi says as he stabs a hotdog into a stick. Taehyung eyes him and soon reaches for one as well. "This is nice but I wasn't up for collecting the damn firewood. I mean Jungkook and I were practically the only ones who worked."

"Hoseok hyung kept clinging to me!" Taehyung protests with his stick flailing in the air.

"Hyung! You're going to stab someone with that!"

"There was a snake!" Hoseok defends sonorously, looking offended.

The eldest grumbles something under his breath, probably a curse word before sticking the hotdog to the fire.

Hoseok and Taehyung kept bickering while Jungkook and Yoongi tried to roast their hotdogs in peace.

Eventually, they found out that they left the drinks back in the truck since some idiot forgot them.

"Do you need help?" Yoongi asks.

Jungkook waves a hand in dismissal. "No thanks. I got it, hyung."

He jogs up across the field, pulling out his phone for a flashlight. He wouldn't want to trip on a rock. Their truck was just a bit pass the creepy house they sneaked into earlier. Well, it was his halmeoni's house back then. He wonders what happened that it got abandoned. It still looked pretty sturdy.

He slows down as he reaches said house. The only light available was from a nearby post lamp. His grandma explained something about lights attracting animals. The way the light illuminated the abandoned house made it seem so ambiguous— like those houses in horror games or films.

He took small, sturdy steps as he passes the house. He couldn't help but look at the windows, nothing was there but darkness yet he felt something will pop up all of a sudden.

I should be at the truck by now...

Jungkook thought. Something was enchanting him about the house. He couldn't prod his feet to move   as if something was pulling him closer, urging him to step up the porch and investigate inside.

That's how people die in horror movies, Jungkook.
He told himself, trying to shake himself out of whatever trance he's getting sucked in.

He willed himself to step away. When he did, he stepped away again until he was completely running to the truck.

He opened the back trunk and grabbed the cooler in haste then he slams it close. But as he was locking it, his heart jumped when the car's stereo springed into life, its sound a loud static.

"What the hell?" He whispers to himself, eyeing the stereo beeping green. His heartbeat got frantic, the postlamp flickering for a second. He takes a sharp intake of breath, hands gripping the cooler tightly.

Slowly, he approached the front door but as soon as he was about to open it, the stereo died down by itself but the headlights swiched on.

"This is fucking freaky." Jungkook says, the headlights flickered close and he was already walking away from the car and pass the creepy house.

He can't shake off what just happened back there. He felt like something will jump on him any second. The car was old anyway so maybe that's the reason.

"Jungkook! There you are. What took you so long?" Hoseok was the first to acknowledge him. Yoongi was too busy scolding Taehyung about burning every hotdog he tried to cook.

Jungkook sets down the cooler and takes his seat.

"I just had a bit of trouble with the lock." He lied.

"Bullshit." Taehyung poked him in the ribs with his finger. "You went into the house, didn't you?"

Jungkook shook his head. "No."

"Taehyung, I will shove that stick up your ass if you burn that fucking hotdog again."

"Yeah, yeah. Shut up, hyung." Taehyung rolled his eyes before looking back at Jungkook again. "I saw it, Kook-ah. No need to lie."

"I didn't go in there." Jungkook insisted once again.

"I can see the lights from over here, dumbass. You even waved at me."

"Huh?" Jungkook says. "I went straight to the truck. What are you talking about?"

"Are you telling me that I saw a ghost or some shit?" Taehyung raises a brow.

"I don't know. All I know is that wasn't me and I didn't touch that house."

"Kim fucking Taehyung, your hotdog is turning to ashes. I swear I'm going to shove these burnt hotdogs down your throat and choke you with them." Yoongi groans, grabbing the stick from Taehyung.

"Whatever, Jungkook." Taehyung reaches for the cooler, grabbing a drink for himself.

"Ok, you want to know the truth?" Jungkook tries to convince the latter again.

The older nods.

"The car's stereo turned on by itself and the headlights flickered on and off. I almost went inside the house but I didn't, ok? If I did I would've taken longer, don't you think?."

"Woah, woah woah." Yoongi intervenes. "The car stereo turned on by itself? The fuck? Is the truck haunted?"

"But I saw someone!" Taehyung cries. "Someone was up there waving at me through the window! The lights were on! How do you explain that?"

Silence thickened around them. Chills crawling up their spine when the wind blew suddenly stronger.

"Something's up with that house."  Yoongi declares. "I don't know what but it's definitely something."

The rest nodded in response.

"Where's your grandma, Jungkook?" The eldest asks.

"In her house." The youngest points to the house behind them.

"Should we maybe check it out?" Taehyung proposed.

"Shouldn't we maybe stay the fuck away?" Hoseok counters him.

"Halmeoni did say to stay away, Tae." Jungkook says. "We probably should listen."

"Let's just go to sleep for now." Yoongi mumbles, rubbing his tired eyes. "If this continues then we investigate. If not then just forget about it, alright?"

Jimin froze at the feeling.

He's dead. Why the hell did his heart beat like that?

Jungkook was unconscious in his arms, his eyes closed, cheeks wet with a few tears.

He stared at the boy—at his long lashes and precious lips. Something.... something was enchanting him. A wave of something unknown washed over him.

Promise me you'll find me again in another life...

His knees buckled underneath him for a moment, his power stuttering.

A memory.

He remembered something.

"Who are you?" Jimin spoke to the still unconscious boy.

He carried Jungkook all the way back to the house. His mind a bit dazed. He forgot everything since he became a ghost. Since he died. Having remembered even a fragment, it made him want to know more.

Gently, he laid Jungkook down the bed. His heartbeat was there— thump, thump, thump— and his body heat was still present. He merely passed out but for unknown reasons even to Jimin.

Questions flooded his mind. The mark on the mortal and now he made his dead, lifeless heart beat.

Maybe Jungkook was a part of his past. Maybe he knew him in his past life.
