Billy and Barney are brothers. They may be bears but they live just like any two grown up boys would. They live together in a house in the middle of a small forest, there is a park near the small forest and near the park there is a shopping center that all kinds of boys and girls and grown-ups can go to whether they are people or bears.

One day Billy and Barney went to see a film in the cinema in this particular shopping center. It was about a deer called 'Bambi' and they loved it.

On the way home, in the park, a deer was laying on the ground. It had been caught in a trap that had been set by a hunter. It was only a young deer and his mum and dad were not around, maybe the hunter had gone after them. Billy and Barney were able free the deer and bring him home where they bandaged the leg of the deer right where the trap had injured it.

The next day Billy and Barney were going to put up notices to let the deer's mum and dad where he was but before they could do this, they came across an open trap in the woods close to where they live, in fact they found lots of these traps. The hunter was trying to capture some of the animals that lived in the forest.

See, not all the forest animals are as clever as Billy and Barney are, so Billy and Barney could not stand to let anything bad happen so close to where they live. They right round and threw branches and stones into the traps to make them close, and with that, no animal could become trapped. But, at the same time, they knew that the hunter would be back, so they came up with a plan.

When the hunter returned to the forest, all the forest animals were hiding and waiting. They had set up traps of their own that kept making the hunter fall over. He fell over so many times, he soon began to really get annoyed. He became all the more annoyed when he discovered all of his traps with which he set up were all closed and had not trapped any animals.

Each time the hunter fell, a forest animal would jump onto him and by the time he got up, he could no longer see that animal. All these animals were small and quick, so very quick. The hunter was tripped up so many times that he even fell into a pool of mud and when he did all the animals began to laugh.

'Who is there?' asked the hunter out loud for all to hear.

Just at that moment all the forest animals came out, the deer's father went up to the hunter and he would actually speak to the hunter.

'You trapped my son.'

The hunter couldn't believe this, a talking animal, all the animals seemed to be able to talk. Billy would be the next to speak to the hunter.

'We are gonna let you leave the forest', and then Barney said 'you better not come back, or it'll be you who will be trapped'.

The hunter never did come back at the deer went home with his mum and dad and everything was good and well ... all because Billy and Barney where there to save a deer.
