Your blue eyes light up with a sad gleam,
It's creeping on us slow,
We try to tell them but they don't want to know,

We know that we are doomed,
Silent tears and midnight blues,
We try to live the twenty years
The world couldn't give us in a single night,

So climb into my room,
Sneaking out and ditching school,
Your hand is under my shirt,
First kisses, crying in the dirt,

We are running all over town,
Tripped on the urge to feel alive and fell down,
Now I got band-aids on both my scraped knees,
Sharing soft ice cream in the summer breeze,

Soon the sun will set,
Orange sky, we're trying to forget
All our big dreams lost in this suburban maze,
This lifeless town and a future we'll never get
