Kai sat on his knees in front of Mister Chan who walked back and forth. Kai's arms were wrapped in bandages after his last battle.

Mister Chan: Hmmm...

Kai:...

Mister Chan: We do combat training now.

Kai:!

Kai: B-but Mister Chan! I don't like fighting!

Mister Chan: Good. But this important to learn. Or you want to lose control always?

Kai: No...

Mister Chan: You dodge well. Hit suck... normally.

Mister Chan: If you wish to overcome issue you have, then you need to balance yourself with all of martial arts.

Kai: Balance...

Kai: Just don't tell Jen about my arms.

Mister Chan: Only if you don't tell her about our new training.

Kai: Deal!

Mister Chan: Let us begin.

(Opening theme)

Rose arrived at the apartment complex of Kai's. Looking at it, she is reminded of what transpired last she was here.

(Flashback)

After the events under the highway, Rose arrived at Kai's apartment with Kai himself.

Kai: Th-thank you.

Rose: Forget about it.

Kai: I'm sorry you couldn't get it...

Rose: Eh, if they won't take me then screw them! I'll find some other way to get what I want.

Kai: Why di-did you want to join them?

Rose:...

Rose: Guess you did get beat up for me.

Rose: Those guys get things done. Unlike the authorities called my parents who get nothing done.

Rose: I'm sick of how useless they are, so I thought I could shove it to them by joining a gang like that.

Kai: So... Y-you're rebelling?

Rose: Don't like using that word because it makes me feel like a child, but yeah.

Rose:(sigh)... Whatever. Guess I have to date someone as bad as them to stick it to my parents.

Rose: Well I'm off.

Kai: W-wait!

Rose: What?

Kai: You said I can say one thing to you if I helped you.

Rose: You've already said several things.

Kai:!

Kai: J-just one more thing then, please...

Rose: Sure, it's not like I want to follow my curfew.

Kai: Thank you.

Kai: I wanted to say... I'm sorry.

Rose: Huh?

Kai: I'm sorry I bumped into you in school... I should have looked where I was going.

Rose:.....(chuckles)

Rose: You still on about that? You know... I don't get you at all.

Kai:(shyly looks away)

Rose: Listen. We're cool. Just forget about it.

Kai: O-okay!

Rose: See you around.

Looking around, she searched for Kai's apartment. Unbeknownst to her, she was about to find the next best thing.

Jen: Can I help you?

Rose: Oh, yeah. I'm looking for a Zeuso apartment.

Jen: Zeuso? Why is that?

Rose: My classmate Kai left his notebook with me. Came here to return it.

Jen: Hmm...

Jen: He's not home. You'll find him next door.

Rose: Next door?

Jen: The generic Asian looking place. Can't miss it. Just walk into the backyard, you should find him.

Rose: Really?

Jen: If he ain't there then I don't know where.

Rose: Okay, thanks.

Jen: One more thing.

Rose: Yeah?

Jen: What's your name?

Rose: Rose Johnson.

Jen: Okay.

The two then part ways. When Rose wandered into the back yard of Mister Chan, she saw Kai sanding wood with strange over-exaggerated movements.

She walked up to the sweating, tank top wearing boy who had bandages around his arms.

Rose: What are you doing?

Kai: AH!

Frightened, he jumped around.

Kai: Wh-what are you doing here?

Rose: What? Don't like that I came to see you?

Kai: No, no, it's that...

She walks up to Kai and begins poking him.

Rose: Damn... You have some muscle.

Kai:(blushes) I.. Uhh... Th-thank you...?

Rose: So what are you doing?

Kai: M-making a board that's going into the pond.

Rose: Why?

Kai:... Training.

Rose: Sounds like chores.... Or something out of Karate kid.

Kai: So... Wh-why are you here?

Rose: Got bored... Seeing as your in a way to blame why I can never get into that gang, I came to find you to help me not get bored.

Rose: So what is this place exactly?

Kai: Th-this is Mister Chan's home and dojo. He's also the landlord of my apartment...

Rose: Where is he? Shouldn't he be supervising, or something?

Mister Chan: I take one bathroom break, and you start chatting with girlfriend.

Kai: Mister Chan!

Mister Chan: Yes, yes, I am me. Now continue training. Faster done, faster spend time with her.

Kai: Yes.

He continued his training.

Mister Chan: Miss, don't distract my student. Come in, I make tea.

Rose follows him into his house, where he makes her tea.

Mister Chan: Here you go.

Rose: Thanks...

Kai:(in the distance) Hya!

Rose:... So you train him?

Mister Chan: Correct.

Rose: Any room for another student?

Mister Chan: No. I only train him to keep promise.

Rose: Too bad...

Looking around, she noticed several first place martial arts trophies and medals on shelves.

Rose: It looks like I would have been in good hands.

Mister Chan:(chuckles) Does are not mine.

Rose: Then who do they belong to?

Mister Chan: Boyfriend.

Rose: Boyfriend?

Her eyes look towards Kai.

Rose: You mean him?

Mister Chan:(nods)

Rose: Really? He seems a little reserved to compete.

Mister Chan: He not always like this. Once, he was brave and passionate.

Mister Chan: Would take any challenge given to him. If you offered him, good reward, he would even fight tiger with fist.

Rose: Really?

Mister Chan: Yes.

Rose: What happened?

Mister Chan: He was in accident. Now, there's metal plate in skull.

Rose: Jesus...

Mister Chan: But past is past. It deserves to be learned from not lived in.

Mister Chan: Kai!

Kai:(in the distance) Yeah?

Mister Chan: Enough for today, go have fun with, girlfriend!

Rose: Actually, I'm not his girlfriend.

Mister Chan: You friend?

Rose: I guess so.

Mister Chan: You girl?

Rose: Yes.

Mister Chan: You girlfriend.

Rose:...

Mister Chan:(chuckles) I just tease. Go do whatever your children like to do these days.

Kai and Rose then left to hangout. Meanwhile, Jen met with Chun.

Jen: So... Is he man enough to meet me?

Chun: Follow me.
