Triple Glitch [part 2]

I'll do my best to represent the characters properly, please tell me if I mess up. By the way, I don't know if I already said this, but this takes place after part three of 'Mr Erratum', but before Erratum takes Null and Void to school.
----------
Nightmare was taking a walk when a flash of metal caught his eye. He glanced to the nearby alleyway to see two young skeleton children, leaning on some metal, gazing up at the stars. The darkly-coloured one was pointing at various constellations and talking in a low voice to the lighter-coloured one. He frowned worriedly. It was a bit late for kids to be out, wasn't it? Especially so young. They looked to be around 5 or 6 years old. Where were their parents? He approached them carefully, moving as though they were rather skittish cats.

Of course, they noticed him almost immediately and scrambled up. "Woah, woah," he called softly to them. "Calm down. I'm Nightmare, what're your names?" This had the odd effect of the dark-boned skeleton freezing, sadness flickering across his face, while the lighter-boned one glanced away. "I'm Blue," he said. "-screen," he hurriedly tacked on, "Bluescreen, and that's... Errant."

Those names were obviously fake, but that wasn't any of Nightmare's business, so he let it be. "It's awful late," he commented, keeping a neutral tone. "Where are your parents? Do you have a place to stay?"
'Errant' still seemed incapable of responding, so 'Bluescreen' answered again. "Never knew our parents, and we're staying in this alleyway." He probably should have lied, but it was Nightmare! A different Nightmare, but still...

"...Alright, how about I show you two to a shelter I know of for homeless children? There'll be food and a warm place to sleep," Nightmare suggested. 'Errant', finally overcoming his shock, shook his head. "₩ę HąVě Å wĄŕM p£ä€ę," he explained, tapping the sheet of metal leaning against the wall. "Do you live around here?" 'Bluescreen' suddenly asked. Nightmare got the feeling he was deliberately changing the subject, but he answered anyway. "Yeah, a couple blocks away."
"Then you can visit us!" Bluescreen declared happily. "You are obviously worried," he elaborated after Nightmare gave him a startled look. "This way, you can check up on us and make sure we're doing okay!"

The only thing Nightmare could think was, 'Well, I guess I don't have an excuse not to walk to school anymore.'

"...Alright," he reluctantly agreed. "Say, can you come out into the light? I want to see you properly." Bluescreen cheerfully entered the beam of the streetlamps, tugging a hesitant Errant behind him. Nightmare frowned. Errant was a dead ringer for Erratum, scars, tear tracks, and all, though the scars seemed more healed, and yet many were newer? It was mildly disconcerting. "Errant, you look a lot like someone I know... His name is Erratum, does that ring any bells?"

In the space between multiverses, Destiny and Chaos were cheering quietly. This may not have been what Destiny was planning, but she was sure as hell going to make sure it worked anyways.

"That's the second Error, isnt it?" whispered Bluescreen to Errant. "¥èÅh," he whispered back. "We should go meet him tomorrow," declared Bluescreen. "Will you take us to him?"
Nightmare nodded slowly. "He works with me at the high school near here. I don't know where he goes after that, though."

Luckily, Errant had an easy solution. "₩hĂť 1f ¥őŰ ȚåĶê Ůş Ţø $ćHõ0ł ₩įŤh ¥öÚ?"
"Wha- I can't do that?" Nightmare said, though it sounded more like a question than a statement.
"Aww, c'mon," persuaded Bluescreen. "We wont be any trouble!"
"₩ë €āŅ jÚšŢ hÅñĞ øÙť 1ņ Țh3 çÅf3ț3ŕ1ā 0ř $øMéŢh1ňĢ," added Errant.

Nightmare sighed. "Fine," he said, throwing his hands in the air exasperatedly. He noticed that Errant flinched slightly at the sudden movement. "Are you two sure you'll be alright?" he asked softly. Bluescreen smiled gently. "We'll be fine. You should be on your way now. See you tomorrow!"

He stepped back into the shadows with Errant, who flashed him a half-grin as he was tugged once more.

Bluescreen had slept well. The shelter was warm, but not too hot. It was with great reluctance that he exited its warmth to wait outside with Nightmare. Errant noticed his shivering and began knitting him a sweater with his strings. It was a little big, making Bluescreen look and feel even tinier, but it was so very warm, he felt as if he would never take it off.

Nightmare arrived at the alleyway to find the two odd children already there, despite the fact that it was only 7 in the morning. Bluescreen was wearing what seemed to be a brand-new sweater that was far too big on him. Where did they get the money for that? It looked very soft and high-quality. Did they... steal it?

His thoughts were brushed aside as the children joined him in walking. "I can't wait to meet Erratum!" Bluescreen sang happily. "1 w0ňĐėŔ wHâȚ h3'ľ£ b3 ł1k3," mused Errant. "Well," answered Nightmare, "he's very compassionate and kind. He teaches sewing, and treats the students like they're his own kids. He's very socially awkward, and is covered in scars. He also knows a lot about things no one else knows, like SOULmates and monster evolution. I believe he has two young children, but he hasn't really mentioned them." Nightmare had a faint blush on his face as he described Erratum.

Bluescreen and Errant shared a look between them that all shippers knew. It was the look of someone who had found a new ship, one that was destined to sail.

After a bit of walking, they made it to the two schools Errant and Bluescreen had seen yesterday. "You'll need to sign into the office as visitors," Nightmare said. "I'll help you." He lead them inside, where a bored-looking secretary, who barely glanced at the two small skeles, handed them a form. Errant filled it out with his usual impeccable handwriting, while Bluescreen wrote with his own messy letters. The last step was to write their names on nametags. Both Bluescreen and Errant declined, and Nightmare, who had given up reasoning with the two strange children, showed them to the cafeteria, where the teachers hung out before school.

They had only been there a few minutes, ignoring the adults, who were talking about an out-of-place cafeteria table for some reason, when the doors that lead outside opened. A tall, dark skeleton wearing a trenchcoat stepped in, carrying two babybones. Errant knew at once that this was Erratum, as he looked almost exactly like the former destroyer had, before he fell into the VOID. Erratum scanned the room, eyelights lingering on the unfamiliar children. He set his kids down, but they refused to let go of him. He gazed at the far left corner of the room for a second, as if something was puzzling him.

Finally, he spoke. "WHat'S uP WitH THAt taBLe? iT WAsn'T LiKE thaT yESTErdaY." Before anyone could answer, he continued. "Ah, iT'S thE SHAme tABle, rIGHT? foR The sTUDenTS wHO diD SOmethING wrONg or YOu doN'T likE?"

Errant nearly choked while Cross exclaimed, "What?!" Classic, who had been in charge of getting out the tables, hurriedly shook his head. "No! I just messed up the tables!" He sighed, gesturing to an empty space in the middle of the room. "It was supposed to go over there, but, for some reason, my brain just went off. I thought I did put it there, but I unlocked it and left it in the corner instead. I'm going to have to lock everything back up and wheel it out, it's not like I could carry it over or wheel it between the tables." He suddenly grinned, looking hopefully at Erratum. "Unless you could do it for me?"

Grillby whacked him on the head, but not before Erratum shrugged. "SUre. I CAn dO it." He began walking over to the troublesome table, forcing the two babybones to finally release their holds on his arms.

Bluescreen immediately bounded up to them, dragging Errant behind him. "Hi! I'm Bluescreen and this is Errant! What are your names?" The older babybones, who had hugged his brother close when Bluescreen approached, answered. "I'm Null, and this is my baby brother, Void."
"Those are nice names! Why are you here? Mr. Nightmare said little kids like us weren't allowed."

Null happily began answering all his questions, growing more and more relaxed, while Errant edged closer and closer to the bench Null and Void were sitting on. Finally, he was close enough to sit down, startling Null while he was in the middle of answering how old he was. Void cooed and reached towards Errant, who gladly accepted, scooting closer and letting Void touch his face.

Null continued answering questions while Void patted Errant's skull, making worried coos every time his fingers ran over a crack or scar. Luckily, Bluescreen had convinced Errant to make a beanie, which he was now wearing, or the adults would probably be worrying over him as well.

They were interrupted by the sound of metal moving. As it turned out, Erratum was very literal, and was currently carrying a table over his shoulders, though it seemed as if he was carrying nothing at all. He set the table down, making sure it was in the correct spot.

While everyone was busy staring at Erratum in shock, Errant made brief eye contact with him and grinned, silently communicating that he was extremely impressed, yet not shocked in the slightest. Erratum gave a slight smirk back. He was sure this kid, who looked so much like him, was the cause of the disturbance in the Codes he'd felt the other night. From how aware his SOUL was of the other (even stronger than the Error here), Erratum could safely say there was a good chance he, too, was an alternate Error.

Making a mental note to talk to him later, he walked back to Null and Void. Noticing Void was almost completely in the alternate Error's lap, he lifted Null from the bench and sat in his place, leaving the Error to hold Void. He felt as if he could trust him, although he didn't even know his name. There was also what appeared to be another Blueberry Sans sitting next to him, cooing softly at Void.

After a few seconds, Erratum spoke. "So. VoiD SeEMS to lIKe yoU." The small, dark-boned skeleton shrugged. "$ô 1ť $ę3m$." He had a significantly glitchier voice than Erratum. The Blueberry Sans inserted himself into the conversation. "Hi! I'm Bluescreen and that's Errant! You must be Erratum! Nightmare told us you looked a lot like Errant, but wow! You guys are practically identical! Are Null and Void your kids?"

Erratum, feeling slightly overwhelmed, nodded. "I AssuME yOu TWo arE BRothERS?" Errant suppressed a snort. "ŃåH." He glanced around to see if anyone was listening, then whispered, "¥öŰ'ŕ3 âŅ 3řŔøŘ ť0ő, Āŕ3ņ'Ţ ý0ų? Ăř3 Ńü£ļ ÃňĐ Vô1ď Åł$ő Fř0m Ā ď1fFėŔəŅţ Mų£ť1v3ř$ĕ?"
"U-uhM," Erratum said as he debated on how much to tell this strange child. "...'ToO'? ARe yoU AlsO aN AlteRNAte eRRor? ANd yES, thoUGh thEY Aren'T FroM mY UniVErsE. I AssuME BlueSCREen kNOws ABOut yOUR pasT? ALsO, hoW Old aRE yoU?"

"Of course I know," Bluescreen answered. "I'm from his multiverse, after all. And we're both physically five, but I've lived through like 300 years. Errant's lived for way longer, though." Erratum nodded slowly, frowning. "In yoUR mulTIVErsE, WHich ONe oF YoU JumpED IntO The VOID? Or dID yoU BotH JUmp?" "W-what?!" exclaimed Bluescreen quietly. "Neither of us jumped! Errant fell when he was fighting me and the other Star Sanses and I tried to pull him up!"
"Ķë¥w0řĐ: ťŔį3đ," added Errant.
"Did- Did you jump? You jumped, didn't you," Bluescreen realized. "God, how bad was your Ink for you to resort to that? Or did you not have someone like me? Did Nightmare's gang treat you okay? Were they even your friends?"

Erratum answered that his Nightmare would frequently poison him, but they didn't really fight. Besides, he's immune to most poisons now, so that's good. Inky was a ruthless, emotionless sociopath who enjoyed making horrible AUs and beating the hell out of Erratum. Swap (his US! Sans) was under his protection, but he was just too innocent to be caught up in Erratum's affairs.

When he stopped talking, both Errant and Bluescreen had looks of horror and shock on their faces. "ĄňĐ 1 ťHóŮğhȚ M¥ 1ńĶ wÄş ßãĎ..." whispered Errant softly.

The bell rang, startling them. "₩hĂţ Țh3 h3ł£ wĀś ŢHÂŤ?!" yelped Errant. Bluescreen snrked. "The bell, you doofus. Mr. Erratum has to go teach stuff now." Erratum was about to say that Bluescreen needn't call him 'Mr' when Errant spoke. "Mř. ŅïĞhŢmÀŕ3 şÃîĐ ț0 śȚå¥ īÑ ţHė €äFəŤęŔìÃ, bŰť Ťh3ř3'ş ŇöȚh1ńĢ ť0 đ0. €øŪļĎ ý0ų Hē£p Ûš €óŃv1ņ€ë HïM ť0 ł3ţ Ůš $îŢ įŇ őŃ ă €ľÁś$?"
"SUre, wHY nOt?" Erratum chuckled. "WhiCH clASs dO YOu wAnT To siT In oN? It shOULd prOBabLy bE MinE Or NigHTMare'S, SInce WE'Re tHe onLY teacHErs yOU knOw."

Errant and Bluescreen took a moment to think things over. "You're already taking Null and Void to your classroom," Bluescreen said. "Four kids would be a bit much. I think we should go to Nightmare's classroom." (Errant would much rather be in a sewing class as opposed to whatever Nightmare taught, but two young kids was plenty enough.) Bluescreen's face brightened up suddenly. "Unless... There's a cooking class?" Errant frowned. "Țh3 łÅšŢ ť1m3 ý0ū €ô0ķ3đ, ¥õÜ ļ1ţ3ŕĂĺ£ý ßűŔň3ď Ţh3 $țÃŕ $åÑš3ś' ßá$ė Đő₩ń," he pointed out, grinning cheekily as Bluescreen glared at him. "That was supposed to stay a secret!"

Erratum smiled slightly at their antics. "I woULDn't mIND haVINg yoU Two iN My claSSRooM." His face changed to one of worry. "HOw diD YOu mEEt NigHTMarE, anyWAYs? WheRE arE You sTAyinG?"
"Nightmare saw us while he was on a walk last night. We're currently living under some scrap metal in an alleyway a couple miles from here. It's pretty comfy because Errant stole a bunch of stuff like blankets," Bluescreen answered with honesty.

"I doN'T knoW MUch abOUt noRMal MONsteR neeDs, bUT I'm prETTy sURe hOMElesSNesS Is geNERallY BAd," Erratum remarked. He looked thoughtful as he murmured, "WouLD I be ABle tO Fit TWo moRe kIDs iN my APArtMEnt? ...How dO yoU EVen aDOPt chiLDreN?"

After a few seconds, Bluescreen gently reminded him, "Mr. Erratum, your class."
"Wha- OH! I'll tALk wiTH NigHTMarE ReaL qUICk, juST leTTinG Him KNOw yOU'll bE wITh mE, anD THen wE'Ll gO," he said, hastily picking up Null and Void and moving toward the exit. Errant and Bluescreen followed him, each holding onto an end of Erratum's scarf and struggling slightly to keep up. "By tHE waY, ErrANT anD BlUEScreEN arE WIth mE," he called as they passed Nightmare.

Nightmare nodded, and, once they were past, he grinned slyly. It seemed the kids made an impression on Erratum, as he had planned. It didn't seem right for them to live in an alleyway, even if they said they were fine. He just hoped that Erratum would be able to handle four kids in his classroom at once.

I loved writing this chapter a lot! I wanted to write more, but this is a pretty decent stopping point and a pretty decent word count. I will DEFINITELY do a part three on this. Probably updating my bitty story next, so be on the lookout! Sorry for not updating this book in a while lol. Leave questions, comments, and concerns in the comment section! Even if I don't reply, I read every comment, so don't worry! Please point out any mistakes I've made in characters (or grammar, for that matter). Bye!
