bonus #2 || the golden rule: junhui always gets his way
"I figured you were coming to get him, he's in the back." jun smiled politely at their school's librarian who gestured towards the far end of the library, where the textbooks for student reference were all kept. the male teacher then proceeded to hand jun a set of keys that made a jingling sound as they dangled from the abnormally large key ring they were hanging from. "if you wouldn't mind, could you lock up for me and leave the keys at the teacher's lounge? I have a date waiting for me, well you get it."
"of course, have fun on your date!" jun called out to the librarian as he left the library. jun swung the keys around on the tip of his index finger. he ended up stopping though after cringing at the loud noise he made when he dropped the whole set of keys on the floor clumsily. the purple haired student opted to just stick the keys in his left jeans pocket before finally spotting what he came to the library for. "oh josh, why do you do this to yourself?" jun spoke in an amused tone that contrasted the worried look on his face as he stared down at his boyfriend who was sleeping at a table near a large pile of textbooks.
it looked as if joshua hadn't even gotten through half the textbooks before he abruptly fell asleep on top of one. jun could make out what seemed to be the beginnings of a chapter on gravity, but then again he could barely focus on the physics textbook when there was a whole joshua laying on top of its pages.
"joshua, wake up." jun patted the top of joshua's head softly, ruffling the brunet's fluffy dark brown hair as gently as he could. jun bit his bottom lip with a sigh as he tried to figure out what else he could do to wake joshua up without giving the latter a heart attack. he usually went with the tickling method when he had to wake up jackson, but joshua seemed like the type to react poorly to that method. jun knew his sister jia was that type, though he figured that one out the hard way when jia kicked him in her sleep during his tickling attempt. "joshua hong, it's time to leave. we have to go."
jun frowned when joshua failed to budge. he knew he needed to wake the brunet up so that they could leave the school before they locked up the school for the day; jun experienced that last year when he and wonwoo ended up camping out for a night at the school. he hadn't even wanted to stay behind with his best friend, but wonwoo convinced (more like forced) jun to accompany him as he worked on a science fair project he had to complete by the end of that week.
being locked up at the school was definitely not as great as it sounded though, jun cursed those television shows that taught him otherwise. there was barely anything edible in the cafeteria to eat so they had to blow all their money on the school's vending machine. when they ran out of money, jun nearly resorted to consuming his best friend for nutrients. nearly. jun was too smart to do that. okay well halfway through his plan he realized that he didn't know how to season human meat and that may or may not have been the only reason why he thought cannibalism was a bad idea, but hey it was pretty smart of him to come to that conclusion right?
anyways, jun didn't want to have to come down to having to make the decision on whether or not to eat joshua for survival which is why he needed to come up with a way to wake up the brunet quickly (joshua was just too pretty to eat). the problem was he couldn't really think of anything that wouldn't irritate his boyfriend, so he sat down right next to joshua and laid his head on the table besides the sleeping brunet so that they were facing one another. maybe looking at joshua would give him a good idea.
he always knew what to do with the brunet around. every time he felt like his head was clouded up, overwhelmed with stressful thoughts or even with the lack of any thoughts, jun knew that joshua would help him relieve him of that burden. just even the presence of joshua made jun feel instantly ten times better than what he had been feeling previously.
jun let out a small sigh as he watched joshua sleep, wondering when the last time he had seen joshua look so peaceful had been. recently his boyfriend had been stressed with the pressure of doing well on their midterm exams, though joshua was always obsessed with studying. jun never really understood the concept of studying, as sitting still for a while gave jun back pain and seriously bored the hell out of the purple haired student, but jun went along with it for joshua. after all the brunet always played along with his playful antics, it was the least he could do.
back to the subject at hand, jun just felt like it was relieving to see his boyfriend take a rest for once since joshua always operated as if his mind was going a hundred miles per hour every hour of the day. jun swore that joshua even studied in his sleep; he could hear the brunet mumbling the answers to complex math problems in his sleep occasionally when they had their weekly weekend sleepover dates (jun loved those days by the way). jun didn't seem like the type to worry, but he always did worry about joshua overworking himself.
earlier on during the day he had told joshua to go home early, since the brunet hinted that he wasn't feeling too well, but joshua was just too stubborn to listen. jun couldn't really argue with him though especially because he knew that he was also a handful when it came to being stubborn. it kind of bothered jun though that joshua was so adamant on staying in school and even staying overtime to do additional studying in the library when he knew that joshua hadn't felt well enough to play around with during lunch.
"you're here." jun snapped out of his thoughts when he realized that joshua's eyes were now opened and staring right back at him. he smiled at how puffy his boyfriend's eyes were, because joshua still managed to look good despite them. he also noticed a small, pink indentation on joshua's face that he figured came from laying on top of the library table. "I dreamt about you and you showed up. I must be some type of psychic huh?"
"or I've gotten too predictable." jun patted joshua's head gently, prompting for the brunet to sit up. joshua used one his hands to wipe the right side of his face while using the other to close the textbook he was laying on. the purple haired student picked up his head and leaned it on his left hand before reaching over with his right hand to fix joshua's disheveled dark brown bangs. jun frowned though as his hand brushed over the hot surface of joshua's forehead. "you're burning up josh, why didn't you just go home?"
"I wanted to get this chapter done before I left for home. I fell asleep though so I'll have to work on it at home," joshua paused when he found jun furrowing his eyebrows at him. the brunet gave his boyfriend a wearily smile, not having fully woken up yet, and tried to reassure jun that he was fine despite the expression on jun's face that urged him he thought otherwise. "don't worry about me, seriously jun. it's just a minor fever. when I get home I'll take some medicine and sleep it off."
"you've been off all day, you should have just stayed home. you always tell me to tell you if I feel bad or if I need anything, why can't you do the same for me?" jun scolded his boyfriend in a nagging tone. he could hear himself and internally cringed at how much he sounded like his mother in that instance, but jun still stood by what he was saying though. joshua glanced at his boyfriend with a serious expression as he listened to every word jun had to say. he had to admit that jun had a point; he always tried his best to take care of the purple haired boyfriend, he had to get used to being taken care of as well. though, it was really hard to pay attention to jun when he looked so adorable. "why are you laughing at me? this isn't funny at all joshua!"
"I know I know, but it is really hard to take you seriously with that mark on your face." joshua pointed to the side of jun's face where the purple haired male had an indentation on his face, one that matched the marking he spotted before on joshua's face. jun pulled out his phone from his pocket and opened up the front camera, frowning when he spotted that small pink indentation on his face. he pouted at joshua when the brunet covered his mouth with his right hand to hide his laughter.
"it's not funny, you have the same mark!" jun complained before pulling joshua over to show the brunet he had a matching scar on his face, just on the opposite side. the purple haired student remained sulky until he realized how funny they both looked together, allowing him to break and smile. "I guess we do look pretty cute. at least now when people see us, they'll know you're mine. well, until these fade."
"yeah." joshua agreed before panning over to the stack of textbooks. his headache intensified as he stared at the pile of textbooks, realizing that he was going to have to go and return them all back in their proper places on the bookshelves. "you're right though. I probably should have went home instead of staying here. let me put these back and then we can go."
"I'll put them back for you. you stay here and rest that pretty head of yours okay?" jun insisted. before joshua could even argue with him, jun had carried half of the stack of textbooks away and began to zoom through the shelves to look for their proper places. joshua smiled, leaning his head on the table once again as he watched his boyfriend run around in the library. the idea of joshua feeling lucky to have jun brushed past the brunet's mind before he closed his eyes and felt the comfort of sleep overtake him once again.

when joshua woke up again, he found that he was sleeping on a soft surface rather than a hard surface like the library table he was sleeping on. he also found that said soft surface was now moving under him and it was too fluffy to still be the same library table he initially fell asleep on; that was because it wasn't the table, it was jun.
joshua slowly picked up his head from where it was laying on one of jun's shoulders and looked at his surroundings. they were definitely heading in the direction of his house. then he looked downwards to see his legs hanging over the ground, right where jun held them so that joshua wouldn't fall. jun was really way stronger than joshua had thought; joshua smiled, reminded about how jun always found a way to surprise him when he thought he knew everything about the purple haired male already.
though one thing bothered joshua: how did they end up like this?
he wasn't sure how or when, but jun had ended up seeing him asleep in the library and instead of waking him up, the purple haired saint decided to just throw joshua on his back and walk the brunet home. on one hand joshua felt more than flattered, because he really did appreciate both the gesture and getting more sleep, but on the other hand he felt like all he did was cause jun more trouble than he was worth.
"did you have a nice nap?" jun asked softly as he shifted so that he was holding on to joshua tightly. he had felt the absence of joshua's hot breath near his neck and figured that joshua's movements on his back meant he had finally woken up. a small mumble of a yes confirmed that as joshua continued to wiggle on his back subtly. jun stopped walking for a moment to allow joshua to get in a better position before continuing on their journey. "you just looked too peaceful to wake up." jun justified without joshua having to ask.
joshua knew way better than to argue with jun, mainly because he would end up letting jun win anyways no matter what, so he settled in on jun's back. they weren't too far from his house so he figured he might as well enjoy the ride. that was when the brunet returned his head to jun's shoulders, even going as far as to lean his face right into the crook of jun's neck. his arms were wrapped around jun's neck securely, but his hands were free to trace over jun's collarbones smoothly.
"stop doing that, it tickles!" jun complained as he tried to shake joshua's hands off of him. joshua didn't stop though, because he wasn't one to give up a chance to tease jun so easily. that was why he kept on tracing his hands over jun's exposed collarbones, making the purple haired male shiver. "stop it!"
"or what hm?" jun could feel the way joshua smirked at him and let out a small chuckle that was unheard by the brunet.
"if you keep tickling me, I'm not going to feel an ounce of guilt when I drop you on your ass." jun stopped walking just so he could look back and give his boyfriend a nice view of the scowl on his face. "okay I'll still feel bad, but it'll feel less bad when I recall how you deserved it."
joshua did end up stopping, but not because jun asked (aka threatened) for him to, but because he had tired himself out. that was why he opted for just laying his head against jun's neck while staring at jun's face from below. he counted the number of moles of jun's face and even brought up his finger to poke a few of the ones near his mouth, which jun tried his best to ignore because his lips were just itching to react to joshua. they were nearly at joshua's house when the brunet sighed softly.
"junnie, I'm sorry." jun stopped abruptly at the nickname, having never been called that before by joshua. he sure did like the sound of it coming out of joshua's mouth though. he took a small pause to pray to all of the gods available for the chances of joshua using that nickname more often to increase immensely. "I treated you so badly when we first met and I feel horrible about it all the time. you were always so sweet and caring, you still are." jun opened his mouth to retort that comment from joshua, but the brunet beat him to it. "sometimes I think about how I don't deserve someone like you in my life. I really don't-"
"don't be silly. I'm the one who overstepped boundaries in the beginning." jun scoffed, as if what joshua was saying was complere bullshit. "and besides you're a really good boyfriend to me, I think that more than makes up for your past rudeness, which was kind of cute when I think about it. you always do this thing when you get angry with your eyes and it makes me laugh." jun took a minute to try to imitate joshua's infamous angry expression, which caused the brunet on his back to roll his eyes out of loving annoyance. "you wouldn't believe the amount of times I've wanted to laugh at how cute you were when you were mad at me."
"it's not cute, and you can't just twist my apology like that-" jun leaned over and cut off joshua's sentence with a small kiss on the lips. he pulled away with a knowing smirk spread across his face, leaving joshua baffled.
"I can and I did, deal with it." and joshua did. after all, he knew way better than to argue with jun because he knew himself enough to know he'd eventually give in to jun every time. what he didn't know was jun knew that too; which is why he smiled with a mischievous glint in his eyes and he carried joshua into his house, that seemed way more like a home now that they had arrived there together.

for some strange reason my brain went writing this bonus chapter > listening and taking notes for my psychology class, and that's how we ended up here.
