joshua wiped the dining table clean for a second time to ensure that he hadn't missed a spot of dirt from when he wiped it the first time before discarding the rag he was using and replacing it with a paper towel so that he could dry the table's surface. when he was done with that, he brought down any textbooks he needs, he planned to work on science and history so he brought down those books respectively, and then sat down at the table to begin studying. it wouldn't be long until his friend group would arrive at his house for one of their famous study session; it all started when chan had asked if they could study together on saturday and before he knew it almost all of his friends were showing up.

seokmin's arrival was a given seeing as he basically showed up to all friendly gatherings, even if he wasn't invited. once joshua had even seen the tall teenager show up at one of his family reunions. he had no idea how seokmin had even known about the public reunion at the beach, the younger brunette claimed he just followed the scent of food and it led him to their family's beach blanket.

chan of course spread the word to wonwoo about the study session; joshua was unclear on whether chan invited him for help or to just so he could stare at the senior but regardless of that wonwoo was happy to accept the offer. joshua had even heard from seokmin that mingyu was attending, although the junior was not happy to have been one of the last ones to be informed about the study session. speaking of the junior, mingyu had coincidentally been one of the first ones to arrive at joshua's home.

the tall junior puffed his face up into an angry pout as soon as joshua had opened the door for him, immediately taking the chance now that both him and joshua were alone to complain about how wonwoo had neglected to tell him about their session as soon as chan had told him about it. mingyu confided in joshua oftentimes as well as seokmin when wonwoo treated him badly which is why joshua wasn't surprised at all when mingyu had opened his mouth to rant about the ravenette. that was when wonwoo had decided to make his appearance at the house as well, ringing the doorbell to announce his presence.

"don't tell me you guys invited jun again." joshua groaned when he heard jun's loud voice radiating from behind the tired looking wonwoo. the chinese male was too busy poking around the bushes in front of joshua's house, he had claimed that he had seen a stray quarter on the floor and wouldn't rest until it was safely secured in his wallet. meanwhile wonwoo sighed, his facial expressions were enough for joshua to deduce that he was beyond tired. the drowsy tone in his voice when he spoke directly to the senior confirmed it. "we invited jun again, deal with it."

"hey joshua! how was your day so far? I bet it's a lot better now that I'm here right?" jun smiled, standing up and shoving a quarter into his pocket when spotting joshua staring at him. wonwoo shook his head, leaving his best friend behind to flirt with the brunette while he entered joshua's home and made small conversation with mingyu who spontaneously forgot how mad he was at the ravenette. the purple haired male kept his smile on his face, even when joshua looked annoyed by his presence while letting him in. "I would rather be anywhere else but here."

jun took a seat right next to joshua at the dining table despite his protests, watching as the brunette diligently began to scribble down notes into his notebook. he waited until both mingyu and wonwoo were caught up in their own studies to lean over and whisper into joshua's ear while keeping a rather large smirk planted on his face. "oh come on josh, we both know you like me way more than you pretend to."

"bold of you to assume I like you at all." joshua whispered back to him, hiding how flustered he was by jun's proximity to his face with the tough facade he managed to keep up. his response made jun laugh lightly, earning a small glance from wonwoo who pretty much knew what jun was up to. he was his best friend for a reason, jun practically told wonwoo everything there was to know about him and joshua right down to their recent adventure at the cafe.

"ouch that stung." jun pretended to be hurt by joshua's words, or well he did a horrific job in acting like he was because there still were traces of that annoying smirk on his face. he leaned in closer to the brunette and brushed his hand with his own, laughing at how joshua slapped his hand away with a rather intense angry glare. "or it would have if I didn't remember how we basically held hands all night last night."

"just shut up and go away junhui, you're so annoying." jun laughed loudly, taking the opportunity to go into the kitchen and raid joshua's cabinets for something to snack on. while he did so, the doorbell rang once again which prompted joshua to answer it. it was no surprise that seokmin and chan had arrived together, with them being neighbors and all. the trio bantered at the door; joshua was curious on why seokmin had brought over a scooter to his house and the brunette was explaining why he did so while mingyu figured he could get to talk to wonwoo alone now that the trio seemed to be occupied.

"wonwoo what'd you get for question three? I got answer choice b but I'm not really confident-" for a brief second mingyu had had the ravenette's attention before it was stolen by chan who had walked over to the table when the junior was not paying attention. wonwoo immediately looked to his right as chan sat down next to him and pretended not to be affected by the way the senior looked at him while he unpacked his math textbook. "hey chan how's it going?"

"it's been okay. I still have this horrid math assignment though, you know the one I called you about yesterday?" chan opened up to a specific page in his textbook, attracting wonwoo over to lean and peer at the problem. it was a very familiar looking question and the ravenette was sure that he would be able to crack the problem down for the younger given that math was one subjects he was most confident in. "hm let me see what I can do to help."

"they call each other now? since when were they this close with one another?" seokmin turned his head to discover mingyu mumbling his protests to chan and wonwoo working together to him. he shrugged, unsure of what the context of the conversation was given that he had just approached the table. he took a seat right next to mingyu, acting as a therapy pillow that the junior could vent to while joshua settled back into his seat. moments later jun had arrived back from the kitchen with a bag of chips, deciding to sit right next to joshua while crunching each chip he ate extra loudly to purposely annoy the brunette. by the end of the day, joshua was ready to kill the chinese male, but jun felt it was all worth it.
