CHAPTER 66
OMERA W.
"So, I heard you went to someone's house this weekend." Tia stops me in the middle of the staircase.
"Well, I knew that idiot would come to you to blab after kissing up to me." I state, she seems a bit taken aback as she registers my words.
"Are you talking about Lark? He's not an idiot." She protests. My method to keep her interested in Dan is to just make rumor boy seem horrible in comparison.
"Oh, I see you've given up at trying to get with Dan, what a downgrade." I giggle as I walk past her. I need to somehow give her my number thinking it's Dan's.
"Dan?" She looks a bit hurt when I mention him by his first name.
"Yeah, it's a shame. I was a bit afraid you could actually get him, but I don't have to worry about that." I respond to her, she looks at me with an angry look.
"Whatever, teacher fucker." She shoves past me. How the hell will I slip a number to her without seeming suspicious? I can't just drop it on the floor, it wouldn't work.
Maci: How is it going at school?
Maci...maybe she can help me somehow. Well, I only need her to text Maci and ask if she even has her number. Maci did say the two of them were friends a while ago, I just need to use that.
Omera: do you have Tia's number?
Maci: I ate some salmon and now I fill like a fish
Maci: I do have her number
I ignore the weird message she sent at first and focus on the second. Maci does have her number, perfect. I could go to Maci's house after school, but I don't know anyone who would drop me off and pick me up.
Omera: can you come over today?
Maci: I need to ask my mother if she'd drop me, I'll get back to you on that
"Hey, Omera." Jess waves to me as she passes by.
"Hey." I reluctantly reply.
"We should get some lunch sometime in the future." She smiles brightly as she suggests the idea. I nod along with her words and promise her that next time we would see each other we would hang.
An idea forms in my mind quickly as I watch Jess walk away. She must have broken up with her boyfriend and since I'm known as the hoe at this school, she must think I have a hookup for her. I indeed do.
I take out a piece of paper and scribble down a few words. There's only one girl in the school who was desperate for love, and that was Jess. She is outspoken, not scared of anyone, and very persistent. That means if she falls for rumor boy, Tia will see he's off the market.
"Jess, you're so beautiful. You remind me of every sunset and sunrise. I wish you were mine."
I hold the note in my hands before shoving it in my backpack. I think I can make this work another way, maybe make Tia fall for rumor boy and snatch him away from her.
I don't even know if Tia has fallen for rumor boy at all, I need to get her to do that. How can I convince her that rumor boy is great choice, I could drop subtle hints but why would she take my word for it? The only way I can get back at her is to become her friend, and that's something I'm not looking forward to.
--
"My mother said I could stay the night since it's the weekend." Maci greets me as she walks through the door.
"Well, we have to get your bags in my room and we have to go find Tia." I quickly state as I grab her single bag and rush up the stairs.
Maci quickly rushes after me. "Find Tia? What for?"
"I'm going to apologize and become her friend." I say in sarcasm but Maci takes it seriously. She narrows her eyes at me and looks me up and down quickly.
"Her friend? That sounds great but it doesn't sound like you." She points out, I set her bag in my room.
"I really think I should apologize and end this." I respond, if Maci believes my intentions at good then she'll convince Tia that I'm being genuine. I'll explain my plan to steal love away from her again later. However, I don't think Maci will say much, but if Tia insults me and Maci blurts out my plan it would look bad.
That sounds so refreshing, ruining Tia's chance at love once more. It makes me want to fast forward the plan to the point where she's crying by herself. However, I need to put in the effort first to get the results I want.
"How mature of you, Omera." Maci smiles brightly at me, I grab her wrist and lead her out of my room and down the stairs.
Omera: Need a favor
Rumor Boy: Depends
Omera: I want apologize to Tia, can you bring her to the front of the school. I don't care if you don't believe me but that's what I'm doing
Rumor boy: Fishy, I'll mention it but it's not my fault if she doesn't show
"Who are you texting?" Maci peers over my shoulder.
"Some guy." I answer her, she grabs my phone and reads the text. She seems mad at first but then she seems a bit relieved.
"Oh, sorry for snatching you phone." She apologizes as she hands it back to me. I stare at her a bit until she laughs nervously.
"Oh Maci, you're so cute sometimes." I point out with a chuckle, she only blushes in response.
--
"Well, the minute I heard it I couldn't resist showing up." Tia states as we approach the front of the school.
"Oh my god, Tia you look..." Maci seems a bit confused as she takes in Tia's appearance.
"Look like what?" Tia looks at Maci a bit confused. I look at her too, is Maci trying to insult her or is she genuinely shocked?
"You look exactly like Omera." Maci blushes as she points to Tia's outfit. Ripped jeans, a cropped shirt, she even tanned herself and got a belly ring like I have. I hadn't noticed the similarity beforehand. She even wore a cap, something she ripped off my head at camp and told me looked hideous.
"No, I don't. This is how I dress." Tia looks a bit angry as Maci points it out.
"You were just so pale before, and you never wore makeup. It's just so...never mind." Maci excuses herself as I motion for her to stop talking. I would make a joke on how she was trying to be like me but I was here to apologize.
"Tia, I need to talk to you." I change the subject before Tia runs her mouth to Maci, at that point I'd have to scrap my plan because I would have to defend her by insulting Tia a bit more.
"Yes, I've heard." Tia smirks in my direction.
"I want to end the conflict between us by apologizing." I try to sound mature and as convincing as Dan does. God, if he knew my plan he would be so angry.
"Then apologize." She crosses her arms around her chest and waits. The urge to rip her hair out is quite strong at this point.
"Tia, I'm sorry for taking Dan away from you. It wasn't okay for me to do since I was your friend." I lie right through my teeth. I can't even begin to explain the pain in my core when I said that to her face. I want to tell her I'm lying and leave her behind. She'll know soon enough though.
"Call yourself a teacher fucker. Make it long please." She requests.
I sigh. "I'm a teacher fucker."
"Just know that Mr. Howell never really felt any love for you. You are just a form of entertainment to him. Can you say that aloud? I think I'll forgive you then." She requests one more time with a look of pure amusement.
"Hey, that's a lie and you know it. No need to take out your frustration on her you little-" Maci calls her out with anger but I look back at her and offer her a little wink to signal that I'm okay.
"I'm just a form of entertainment to him, he doesn't love me." I say quickly, I wish I could block out the words I'm saying. It truly made me feel ill thinking about those words. Tia really knows how to make me suffer.
"You're forgiven, but you have to slave around for me, got it?" She snaps her fingers in my face.
"Got it." I nod quickly. She chuckles as she stares at us both, before she turns around and walks off.
"Why did you do that?" Maci asks me in anger once Tia is out of sight.
"To get revenge, it's easier to be someone's friend than their enemy." I explain to her in a wise tone.
"So, this is all apart of some plan?" Maci asks me with a look of confusion.
"Of course, do you actually think I actually wanted to apologize?" I roll my eyes at Maci.
"What is your plan?" Maci seems a bit excited to hear that I would be getting Tia back.
"I'm going to steal love away from her again."
