Greek mythology class comes to life in the worst way
My parents had signed me up for a Greek Mythology class as an extra credit thing. It wasn't as fun as, say, extra credit Chemistry, but it wasn't boring. Sometimes we got to reenact a battle or scene from a one of the old stories. My personal favorite was the one about Perseus and Andromeda.
Today Mr. Brunner was home sick so we had a substitute teacher, Mrs. Kelli. Almost everyone liked her right away, but I thought that something was a little bit off. First, what kind of a teacher introduces herself using her first name? Second, she smelled like a barn animal, like girl, you couldn't have taken a shower after riding your horse? And last but not least, her hair was smoking! I was going to point it out, but then the bell rang.
My classmates all started to rush out the door, but two kids hung back. One was a popular girl named Melanie. She had wavy blond hair and sky-blue eyes and skin too perfect for a twelve year old. The other kid was a boy who I haven't seen before. He had short brown hair and a crooked nose that looked as if it had been broken. His eyes flashed hazel and a light sprinkle of freckles covered his whole face.
I was also about to leave, when Mrs. Kelli said in that sweet 'you're in trouble' teacher tone, "Miss Jackson? Could you wait here a minute? You too, Mr. Sopwith."
What have I done now? I thought. I had a tendency to get in trouble without meaning to.
"What's wrong?" I asked. "What did I do?"
"All will be reaveled in time." said Melanie. But it wasn't Melanie. Her voice was higher and whinier. This voice was raspy and slightly deeper.
"That's right, Melanie!" cried Mrs. Kelli. "Good girl!"
Wait. What. That wasn't even her voice, what was she doing that was so good?
"How are you doing that?" asked the boy, last name Sopwith. He looked like he had seen the best thing since sliced bread. "That is wicked."
"No, that's creepy." I was freaked out and confused.
"I have had my eye on this mortal for a long time." said Mrs. Kelli. "She has been very helpful in informing us of a naughty little girl in this school. Which would be you, Miss Jackson. Oh well, like father, like daughter I guess. Dear little Perseus was a trouble-maker too you know."
My breath caught in my throat. No one knew my dad's full name! Well obviously I knew and Mom knew and Aunt Estelle, and...ok, so only Dad's closest friends knew. But Mrs. Kelli was definitely not one of Dad's close friends!
"How do you know his name?" I asked. "And how do you know that I'm his daughter?"
"Easy. You look just like him, and you do not often forget the face that tried to kill you."
"Dad tried to kill you! How?" I didn't want to believe that my dad had tried to murder someone. But at the same time, Mrs. Kelli looked young enough to be my older sister.
When did Dad try to get her?
Mrs. Kelli smiled with blood stained teeth.
Hold up.
Blood stained?!
Something was seriously wrong with this lady, and my fears were confirmed when she went up in flames and turned into-
"You're an empousa!" Mr. Brunner had made it a point to drill every Greek monster I to our heads. Not many of them had one bronze leg and one horse hoof.
"Yes dear, and think it's time you told us where it is." she hissed at me, "I will take care of the boy and the mortal and you can take us to it."
"I don't know what you're saying, I don't have anything!" Even as I said this, I pulled out Dad's pen and got ready to uncap it. This was sure to count as an emergency.
"Well, well, well. You do have something. Is that your daddy's pen? Pity that it isn't what I want from you."
I had to do something. I knew that Sopwith and Melanie were going to get hurt if I did anything to help Mrs. Bronze Leg.
So I uncapped the pen.

Another part! Sorry the chapters are so short, I'm really busy these days. Again, if you clicked on my story, thank you so much, demigods. It means the world to me. Let me know what you think!
