"CEO, Jeon Jeongguk." Mr. Byun chanted the name while swirling his fingers on the wine glass.

Flashback:

"Ladies and gentlemen." Mr. Byun started gaining everyone's attention. It's already evening time after the huge announcement, everyone wasted no time went back to their respective works.

Later on Mr. Byun announced a surprise party inside the office building, now they are all here enjoying the evening time.

"Sorry I had to leave the building this morning as an urgent work came up, anyway what I had to say, should never be listed of ignorance. That's why I thought to threw a small party. Sigh* As you can see our company got the highest voting among the other tops, for the first time in history."

Audience started to clap.

"This is only happening because of one person" while smiling Mr. Byun set his eyes over the boy who too is looking at him with curious eyes.
"Jeon Jeongguk." The man completed his sentence making everyone bursted out claps while someone starts to congratulate him again in a matter of fact. Jeongguk just bowed with respect not knowing why the boss is praising him today. Well what he did, was obviously his duty, without thinking of any pay back.

"Our GDP is growing, getting more international markets to collab with, receiving many projects these weaks. And I can't be happy with more. My clients were too was a part of this huge uphill, which I am really glad at. From the very first day of the foundation, I have been always blessed having great clients till now. Whom I proudly consider as my family. But by passing time, I am getting more lazy and tired." The man said making everyone sigh. As they don't want to accept the last line. Mr. Byun can never get tired of working, everyone knows.

"My daughter Lili, sure she is a spoiled brat, but the fact is that she is my daughter, I just want to spent a very good amount of time with her and nothing else." Mr. Byun Stated with a smile. Lili just rolled her eyes because of the spoiled brat word. Eventually smiled.

"Sure sure." She scoffed.

"That's why we both mutually decided to do something more better for this company for its upbringing."

Everyone is now confused.

"We have decided to make Mr. JEON JEONGGUK as the new CEO of this company."

Only surprise gasps can be heard. The phone Jeongguk has been holding got slipped from his hand to the ground. (A/n: Thank god it was of Samsung's with Gorilla glass 🥂),
His mouth is hanging open. Now he is damn sure that all is just a dream.

"Yyyyyeeeeeeee." Lili shouted while clapping her hands followed by everyone. Jeongguk snapped out from his imagination listening to all claps and cheers for him.

"But-" jeongguk could say something Lili immediately came forward and hugged the boy, congratulating him. Rolling her eyes Y/n immediately pussed away the woman from the stiffened boy' body, because of the surprise announcement.

"Everyone." Mr. Byun Shouted holding a glass of wine to air. "Let's welcome our New CEO to our company with a few drinks. This evening is in your name CEO Jeon." With a smile the man took a sip. Followed by everyone.

Without wasting a time everyone busied themselves with the sudden party arrangements living the confuse CEO behind.

Y/n said, "Wow you are really a golden CEO of this company, because never in my brillion of lives, ever heard of such celebration of a CEO, At working hours to be precise. Kikikikikiki.... Anyway...."
You took a wine glass from a waiter.
"CHEERS JEON." She shouted gulping the whole glass in a raw.

Dj music can be heard, while shouting, everyone ran towards the empty area to dance holding wine.

Jeongguk is still standing at his position. Not knowing what is going on. Seriously. Only one person can answer all now. he concepts.

Present Time:

Jeoongguk is just studying the man's posture with too much fondness, sitting on the very next, of their favourite garden bench far near the business building. He seriously admires the man a lot. his increasing age was never been a barrier between his kind of fun he does, everytime. It really never stops giving him sudden attacks. The man can never make a single person get bored with his small talks ,with his kind gesture.

"Jeongguk you never Let me know about your family." The man took a single glance at the boy then smiled. "Which i am very disappointed at."

Jeongguk just let out an amusing chukle looking at the man's childish pout lingering on his lips by now.
"Sir, You never asked me though." Jeongguk smiled.

Mr. Byun's brows knitted with confusion. The man is a bit tipsy because of the amount of alcohol he just consumed here and there by now.
"I didn't? Hmmmm. Okay, soooooooooo, Now that I asked. Will you tell me?"

"Chukle* My family is made of two precious person sir, my appa and my Chiku." Thinking about the boy Jeongguk's heart beat fastened. He has a lot of catch up with the boy to do later. A lot to share. More like he can't wait to ask his chiku for marriage anymore.

"Only three person? No no. Three  precious person you said, That's great Jeongguk, I am impressed, you really knows how to value a family. Your father must be very proud."

Jeongguk smiled in a reassuring and a proud way. "Indeed Sir."

"Hmm." The man nod his head taking another sip from his glass.

"Sir?" Jeongguk calls the man in a bit hesitant way.

"Still sir? Jeongguk seriously? You are a CEO-

"That won't change the reality and the respect I've for you." Jeongguk stated making the man sighed out loud.

"Tell me what you wanted to know." The man said looking towards the boy.

"Don't you think Lili is getting more mature then before? She is amusingly Taking all the matters and business deals seriously, unlike the first few days." Jeongguk stated.

The old man didn't say anything just nod his head in appreciation. His daughter is indeed changing into a perfect person. And he is all aware of the person behind it. Which is the very boy sitting near him. Jeongguk changed his daughter. The very boy who had caught the old man's eyes along with his heart at the very day of their first meeting when he was just a trainee. And Byun immediately wrote the boy's future on his imaginary pages, that the boy will grew for a better person.

"Then why You making me the CEO sir? Don't you think this will again tore your newly made up family with your daughter? What if she again starts to feel insecure around you-

"I know where your concerns going son." The man let out a shaky breath.

"I've survived enough with nothing. My wife left me. My daughter hate me. I guess that should be an enough reason to leave this world without any expression on my face along with a swallow heart. Isn't it son?" The man turns towards the boy who is already looking at him with hanging mouth.

"Are-" jeongguk gulped. "What? No why you are thinking about death sir, a very long steps yet you have to take more. Please don't think too much. I think you are drunk."

"Drunk?" The man asked with a mocking chukle. "A single drop of alcohol cannot make me drunk more then my life did to me."

"I am seriously confuse sir. Is everything okay? About the CEO post, I am still hesitant to take it. When your daughter is doing a very tough work gaining-

"Jeongguk." Mr. Byun interrupted.

"Yes sir."

"I am suffering from Colorectal Cancer." The man sighed looking down.

With hanging mouth jeongguk stood up from the stool. He can't imagine what he just heard. "Wh-at? Can you repeat?" He mumbled.

"Shh shh..." The man brought the boy near to his body. "Please please, don't let my daughter know. Please I request you. I've a very few days left and the last thing I want to see my Lili' dull face please."

Jeongguk sat on his previous spot not diverting his eyes from the pleading male' eyes. All was good a moment ago. But now everything is like crumbling down. How can he would ever imagine to hear such a worst news about the person who looks all fit and fine. Talking about fit and fine now jeongguk can see the man is getting a bit paler day by day, but the smile he flashes everyday, never did let that part to reach his eyes.

"S-ir...

"Found it three days before my retirement. I was kind of glad that, I got a reason to die."

"We need to consult a doctor as soon as possible." Jeongguk stated.

"Hmmmmm. Doctor? " Mr. Byun chukled. "Son, I don't need one. Anyway it's too late now."

"Sir, why? Why you did that?" Jeongguk asked angry. He can't belive this man can put his life in danger like this. The boy is loosing his cool. He want to shout at the man.

"Lack of reason. I didn't have anything to left with anyway." Mr. Byun shrugged his shoulders sipping his drink.

"BUT YOU- but you have a daughter for fu- sir." Jeongguk said frustrated.

"She doesn't care anyway."

"Oh my god." Jeongguk roughled his hair leaving a FRUSTRATED sigh. He can't belive this man can be this much dumb.

"Jeongguk...This is why I wanted to give this company to you."

"I don't want-

"SHUT UP. AND LISTEN." Sigh*
I took a lot of decisions in my life, only to regret later. This time I am more than confident with my decision. My company is more safe with you then my daughter. "

"Sir Lili deserves to kn-ow about all. I- i- I insist. You should tell her." Jeongguk sniffs looking down, Tears are coming from his eyes.

"I don't have courage to see that face of her, whatever it would be after getting to know about the truth. Please consider my will. Moreover I trust you. You are enough capable to make my daughter learn new things about business. "

"Sir No one can be as great Tutor on business field as You for Lili." Jeongguk sniffs more.

"Sigh* Jeongguk can you please promise me that you will make my daughter feel the home which I never could give her? I only belive you around her son. I tried to find ways to make her a human but you beat me. I am glad. I failed h-er. I failed as a father. I failed as a husband. I failed in many things. I just want to make every-thing good be-fore I di-e" The Man is silently crying.

"S-ir." Jeongguk gulped looking at the man's messed up State. Mr. Byun shakily took the boy's hand to his.

"Please marry my daughter Jeongguk. This is my last wish before my death. Please."

It seems like everything stopped around the boy. How can he? How? How? The only question is circling around him. But the fact is that he can never marry her.

"I am sor-

"Dad" Lili interrupted the duo, coming there with a smile. Mr. Byun immediately wiped his tears retreating his hands from the grip.

"Dad, Uncle John is looking for you and the new CEO Jeongguk." By saying that Lili threw a wink to the boy who seems stiffening on his position making her confused.

"What's wrong?" She asked looking at the duo. "Were you both Talking about something important. I am sorry-

Byun Cut her off. "Yes a very important discussion was going on Lili. More like I was asking for something from the New CEO." The man said gulping down the whole glass of wine. "What's your answer Jeongguk?" He asked again looking at the boy, ignoring all what his daughter came here for.

Confused Lili again cut them,
"Wait wait.. What is going on Dad, You can ask me instead of him. He seems to be in tense. What the hell you asked him?"

"I asked Him to marry you Lili." Mr. Byun said in one breath.

The wine glass the girl was holding immediately fall off her grip to the grass beneath her.

"Wh-at? NO... YOU CAN'T DAD." She shouted.
"You can't ask him something like that without talking to me dad.. It's my life... And...and... I - I do-n't love him dad you can't force me." She reasons.

"Why you Hesitating Lili?" The old man asked in a teasing manner. He knows his daughter is getting shy all over.

"A few days ago you were all ready to threw a hand to all those, who comes between you both ahahhah." The man bursted out laughing reminiscing his daughters past words.

As a father he just wants to do something, Lili would atleast remind him for. The man never ever could able to make his daughter happy for a bit moment, in his entire life. But now that he knows her Happiness relies on the very boy. He just wants to do all the possible thing a father should do now before his death.

"That was before the Tokyo Trip Dad. And then-

She can still remember how perfectly the elder was describing about his love for his chiku. She can't.

"Then what happens?" Mr. Byun asked amused.

"I- I got a ne-w lover dad I love him. You can't force someone over me. You always did that to me. You always wanted me to dance in your fingers but not anymore plus he already has som-

"LILI." Jeongguk firmly interrupted the girl not minding what she was blabbering. His all eyes were over the man who seems, about to cry listening to his daughter.

But Lili is not having anything.
"Jeongguk. I am sorry. I didn't know this was coming. Okay I agree, I was attracted to you before, but not anymore, Trust me. Don't mind my father he has the very persona to blabbering around."

"Stop it just stop it Lili" jeongguk threatened again. "Please go."

"What?"

"Can you please go, Lili... We need to talk for sometime here." Jeongguk said frustrated. After knowing the man's condition he can't let him stress anymore.

"I will go. But Again I am sorry. Pleease jeongguk you are my only friend, I don't wanna loose you. Please don't listen to him." With that she teared up then leave

"That... Was that my dau-ghter?" Mr. Byun asked shocked.

"I am sorry please don't stress sir."
Jeongguk reassures

"No jeongguk. I am proud. I am proud of my daughter. She is learning to threw rejections too jeongguk. Oh my Lili. So precious you know? You won't get hurt that's why she even lied about having someone particular to her. She.... She is really changing. She loves you. I can feel this. Because she is My girl. She needs to get protected. I know you may feel a bit hesitant to accept her after knowing her pasts. But trust me, she is a keeper. She has everything a man needs in a wife. She...... She .... You? Jeongguk? Y-ou?"

Jeongguk immediately put his hand over the shaking man' one making him stop on his track. Mr. Byun look at the boy in a very desperate way to hear something at least positive?

"I will."
