while on his break taehyung decided he wanted to go see what jungkook was doing, he packed some of the spare donuts and pizza for him and was now on his way to find him. he looked at the roster to see jungkook was in the yard with some inmates. 

taehyung swiped his card to the back door and exited. his eyes scanned the fenced off field and saw jungkook making the inmates do laps. he walked up to the male with his hands filled with packed lunch. 

his husband noticed from the corner of his eye someone walking up to him, he turned around to see taehyung walking towards him. with a bright smile he blew the whistle and yelled out. 

"you can go on the court now" jungkook yelled pointing towards the basketball court. once the inmates ran towards the court jungkook wrapped his arms around taehyung, pecking his lips. 

"what is this lovely surprise?" jungkook hummed when his eyes landed on some packed lunch.

"jimin brought some food for lunch and there were some left overs" the brunette said handing them to jungkook. "thanks babe" jungkook replied placing his lips onto taehyung's. 

after the short and sweet kiss, taehyung walked back inside. he pulled out his phone and texted his mother in law to see if his babies were okay. smiling when he got sent a picture of all three of them on the couch, watching a movie. 

taehyung was in the department building when the speaker came on. 

"code 4, western heights drive- off the motor way-" as the speaker continued to share the voice of a call taehyung made sure he had his belt and everything before grabbing his keys and rushing out the department with his team behind him. 

as they got to the office, jungkook and namjoon were gearing up with a group of officers with them. taehyung nodded towards the two as they all ran out and into the cars. 

"you feeling nervous?" taehyung asked acacia who was in the back of the car. 

"a little bit, but i have been waiting to be involved in the actual practice of this for years" she replied. lots of sirens were heard as jimin drove to the area. once they got there, they all hopped out and walked past the yellow tape around the property. 

"how did namjoon and jungkook get here so fast?" jimin whispered to taehyung. "thats exactly what I was thinking" the male whispered and walked up to jungkook. 

"officer rai, this is detective kim and officer jimin- they are the two older heads of this case" jungkook introduced them to who he was talking to. 

"nice to meet you" taehyung replied, shaking his hand. 

"and you too" the male hummed. 

"so what have we got?" jimin asked, as they stepped towards the house- taehyung pointed towards the team to follow them in. 

"neighbour had not heard from her friend in a few days and got worried, they were meant to have a cup of tea together yesterday but had not heard from her"

"she knocked on the house only for it to be pushed open a bit, then saw the body in the middle of the lounge when she walked in" officer rai said as he pointed to the dead women on the carpet that use to be white but was now white white deep red spots. 

"it is definitely a murder"

"what was her name?" taehyung asked grabbing out his note pad. 

"sherly lae" the officer answered.

"is the murder weapon still here?" taehyung asked.

"no, but in the corner over there we have marked a place where a bullet shell is" 

"any witnesses, neighbours?, friends or family?" jimin asked

"no but the friend is outside talking to an officer" 

"thank you, we can take it from here" jungkook said shaking the males hand. 

"lets have a look around first, officer nico- make sure you take as much pictures as you can" jimin instructed. 

"office acacia and garrett make sure you gear up" taehyung said watching as the two nodded and left. the brunette saw josh writing down some notes as he was looking around. 

taehyung walked closer to the women, she was laying on her front- the bullet went through her back. "do you think it was possible that she did not see the bullet coming at her?" acacia questioned.

"it is most likely" taehyung muttered. "nico make sure your taking pictures of the lounge please" taehyung ordered. nico nodded and went from the kitchen to the lounge. 

the brunette walked up the stairs to the second floor, walking past some officers. he stepped into what looked like an office. he scanned the walls and windows to see nothing out the ordinary. 

"hey babe" he heard jungkook walk in, "hey" taehyung replied looking at the papers on the desk. 

"i dont know what it is but this case gives me a really weird feeling?" 

jungkook frowned "what makes you say that?" he asked. 

"you know that smell of a body that has been sitting there for days? to me it did not have that smell" taehyung replied. 

"do you think she was killed today?" jungkook asked 

"yeah, yeah i do" taehyung muttered, scanning the papers. 

jungkook stepped closer to the desk also, looking at the scattered papers. 

"what are these for?" the chief questioned. 

"some type of lease on a restaurant" taehyung read. 

"looks like its called coffee club, on settle street- that is just down the road" jungkook commented. 

taehyung wrote that down. 

"jimin" taehyung called out when he saw the male walk past the office. 

"yup!" jimin said popping his head in

"do you know if nico took pictures in here yet?" taehyung asked. 

"yup he has taken pictures of everything, he is with josh in the van now" he replied 

"awesome get acacia and garrett in here now" taehyung ordered. 

"will do" jimin replied. 

"this is either going to be one of those really tough cases or a super easy one" jungkook said looking at his husband who gave him a sad smile. 

"lets go talk to the neighbour." taehyung said

"I am detective kim and this is chief jeon, is it okay if we ask you a few questions?" taehyung asked the older lady who nodded. 

"first what is your name?" jungkook asked 

"dorothy" she replied. 

"and you were close friends with sherly?" 

"yeah, well a lot of us are in this neighbourhood" she replied, wiping away a few tears. 

"Im sorry you had to walk in and see that" 

"its very traumatic" she said 

"do you know anyone that would want to hurt her?" the brunette asked dorothy who was looking away from the house, closing her eyes. "her and her son did not get along" dorothy commented. 

"she always complained about him and he used her all the time, whenever he needed money for his drugs" taehyung nodded and wrote what she was saying down. 

"so you walked in today and found her in the living room?" jungkook questioned, he received a nod in reply. 

"what made you walk in the house, when she did not answer the door?" taehyung asked.

"when I knocked the door shifted back so I was worried someone broke in, then i walked in and found her- then called the police" she answered. 

"thank you for answering these tough questions, since this is an open investigation we may still need to ask more questions later on" taehyung said. 

"that is fine" she said. 

taehyung and jungkook watched her be taken back to her own house by an officer. "we should get josh to search some stuff up and see what he can find out about sherly's family" taehyung answered.
