a week had gone by and this had to be the busiest week yet for the department. as well as doing different cases they had been also working on their own. without anyone else in the police department knowing. the only people that were involved was taehyung, his team and jungkook. 

jungkook informed him that the last few days at the camp went really well, apparently there will be three new police officers. one of them being melissa which he was happy to hear. they had to postpone the weekend with the kids as one of the got quite sick. 

while taehyung was doing work from home he did as much research as he could. looking at articles from the year sir's son got kidnapped as he felt like it would of been reported. so the first thing he did was search up sir's real name. 

thousands of articles had appeared, he scrolled through some. taking a decent amount of notes. when he had appeared back at work he handed the group information he had found through the articles and research. they spent the next two days gathering as much as they could find. 

everyday taehyung said "I feel like we are getting closer". sometimes it felt like that for the whole group, but other times it felt like they were taking three steps back. 

"so what have we figured out?" jungkook questioned them. 

"we know the boys name was minjun, but there is a high possibility that the boys name could of changed" garrett stated. 

"there was an article about a boy who when missing 20 years ago, same exact story, area, name of the son matches, baby picture as well"

"the only difficult thing with this is, it is gonna be hard to match up pictures. we have no idea what this boy would look like now. we also have not figured out if he is alive" acacia stated. 

"we found out the hospital the boy was born in, the nurses that were on duty at the time. we contacted a few of them and said that there was always this really creepy police officer who always hung around that area"

"some people said they thought he just loved seeing new life but others got weird vibes from him" acacia continued. 

"what was a police officer even doing there?" taehyung questioned. 

"apparently for security reasons" nico replied. 

"what is even more crazy is that where the baby went missing is just behind the hospitals building" nico commented walking towards them as he placed down a map that showed the area. he pointed towards the red dot and the green dot to show the distance between the two places.

"thats crazy close" jungkook said

"it gets more weird, there is a police station 3 minutes away from the park and the hospital" nico said. 

"so we need to find who this man is, where he was stationed at the time, if he is still a police officer and where the hell is he now" taehyung said looking down at the papers that were all linking towards each other. 

"I got a feeling we are on the right track" taehyung heard his husband say from behind him. 

"I think we are as well" 

"do we have a name for the officer that was working there?" taehyung questioned

"not yet, chief jeon said he was going to go to the police station and see what he can find" acacia said

"okay, I have a meeting in like 5 minutes. nico, you go with chief jeon" taehyung stated, smiling when jungkook nodded towards him. 

"lets get going" jungkook said, watching as nico grabbed his things before heading out the room. 

"you nervous?" jungkook asked nico who was fidgeting with his fingers as they stepped towards the police department. as soon as they stepped into the doors, an officer recognised jungkook as soon as he walked in. 

"chief jeon!" he heard when he stepped inside, looking up to see the chief on the department. 

"chief hyin, how are you?" jungkook replied shaking the males hand. 

"Im really well, how have you been? i have seen pictures of your kids on your instagram account! congratulations" he said before pulling away. 

"I am great! I appreciate that, i love being a father" jungkook said smiling. 

"I bet, now who is this?" hyin said directing his hands towards nico who smiled. 

"officer nico, sir" the male replied bowing slightly.

"nice to meet you, how may I help you both?" the male questioned. 

"could we talk in your office, its about a case matter" jungkook asked

"of course, follow me" he replies as they walk down a long hall and into a large office. 

"take a seat" 

"thank you" jungkook said as they all sat down. 

"how may I help?" hyin asked. 

"we are doing a case, for a private matter. we are investigating a cold case that involved a abduction of a little boy, he would of been probably only months old" jungkook said handing the chief the articles. 

"oh yes, how could I forget this case" hyin whispered looking at the article that was in front of him. "when this happened, the story went viral. I do sometimes think about where that boy may be now" 

"yeah thats understandable, did you guys have officers on that case?" jungkook questioned. 

"no we did not, we were about too but it got handed to some higher up department."

"did any of your officers at the time work at the hospital, back in that year" jungkook asked pointing to the year of the article. 

"let me have a look" the chief replied, typing away on his computer. jungkook tried to figure some things out in his head when he heard the chief hum. 

"yes we have three officers on patrol that year at the hospital just by the park up to road" the chief replied. 

"lets just say if one of them would of been involved in the disappearance of the boy, which officer could you cross out?" jungkook asked. 

"let me print the pictures out" hyin said, clicking a few keys before standing up and walking to the printer. "well" he said pulling out the paper and walking back to the desk. 

"honestly probably not this one, cause he was there for a day but had to leave for family issues. that was months before this case even happened"

"now this officer left during the case as he moved houses and jobs"

before hyin could continue jungkook frowned. "did the next officer stay longer after the boy went missing?" jungkook questioned. 

"yes he did"

"is there anyway I could have the picture of the middle officer as well as his name?" jungkook asked. 

"of course" the chief replied, typing on his computer to download the information. 

"I really appreciate you doing this chief" jungkook said, standing up from his seat when hyin handed him the paper. 

"I know you have your reasons to suspect this guy, but let me tell you one thing. he is not a nice man, so if he did take that boy and the boy is out there. he is one lucky guy. I would be surprised if that officer is still one" the chief said shaking his head. 

"I will keep that in mind, thank you" jungkook replied, shaking his hand before leaving. 

"why did you keep quiet?" the black-haired male asked nico who smiled. 

"I wanted to observe how you handled the situation, with asking questions and that." 

"I respect that" jungkook replied as they walked to the car. 

"who are we looking at?" nico asked pointing towards the paper in jungkook's hand that was folded. 

"kim dal" jungkook muttered looking at the picture. 

"he looks like a creepy dude" nico said putting on his seat-belt. 

"my thoughts as well, lets take this back to the office and see what we got" jungkook replied.
